ZAM's FFXIV Database Hits Open Beta
The Final Fantasy XIV Beta has launched, and with it has launched ZAM's FFXIV database!\r
Those of you who are following FFXIV know that ZAM has already had a fully functional wiki, but now they're adding full database support, just like you're used to here on Wowhead—including "Powered By ZAM" style tooltips.\r
If you're in the FFXIV beta, go take a look!\r

This Week in Warcraft: Episode 4!
Sorry about the late post!\r
Here is Aliena from TankSpot covering the news that happened around the Warcraft universe last week - including coverage of Blizzard's preview of Azshara,
being removed, and many more topics!\r
BFF Report - Minecraft - No, It Isn't Another WoW Clone..
That's the first thing I thought when this game was recommended to me, but can you blame me? With the constant onslaught of free2play WoW rip-offs, seeing anything "____Craft" is suspect. Minecraft is nothing close to what I had expected. It is a sandbox environment where you're given the ultimate set of virtual Legos, and to quote the website, "..a game about placing blocks while running from skeletons."\r
If I can sum it up even further, it's like FarmVille plus zombies, minus the shame... and minus the FarmVille, knawmean? To top it off, the classic version is free and runs in your browser.\r
Cataclysm Beta (Build 12857): New Glyph UI + Eclipse Bar Redesign
You may have remembered hearing that Glyphs were changing from consumable items to learnable skills. Last build we saw the makings of that—now, when you use a glyph, it goes into your general tab of the spellbook, ready to be used whenever you want to place it. Well in this latest build Blizzard has taken it a step futher and given the glyphs tab of your talent frame a complete makeover!\r
First off they've vastly increased the size of the frame—it's now the same size as the talent frame. You now have NINE glyphs to select: 3 Prime, 3 Major, and 3 Minor. On the right side of the panel you will have a list of all learned and unlearned glyphs. Blizzard was also kind enough to add some advanced glyph searching! No need to scroll down the list forever trying to find that one pesky glyph to switch in.\r
Cataclysm Map Update! New Classic / Cataclysm Dungeon + Raid Maps and More!
Epic map update! We've got tons of new maps straight from the latest Cataclysm beta patch, including new maps for classic dungeons and raids! Hopefully leveling in the newly streamlined Cataclysm questing zones doesn't go too fast so players will actually have a use for 'em! At least players will no longer have to discover a low level dungeon before being able to queue for it. Now all they need is to add a tour guide to
- you may laugh, but they actually did add tour guide NPCs to a certain quest in one of those horrible night elf barrow dens! Ever get lost in one of those for an hour or so? Yeesh.\r
Check out all the cartographical coolness after the break!\r
Mission Against Terror Beta Key Giveaway!
Well, it's not Cataclysm, but who's going to say no to a beta key?\r

Cataclysm Icon Update (Build 12857) featuring Archaeology, Tabards and more!
Our beloved "silent co-developer" mystadio has yet again dug up some cool new icons from the latest Cataclysm beta patch, including icons for some interesting new archaeology items and more! I'm sure we'll see the items (or related spells, at least) added to our Archaeology category in a future patch, but in the meantime we can speculate on how awesome they're going to be just from the filenames. :)\r
We've got a few changed icons, as well, including a much-needed update to the
icon (that I'm probably the only person who absolutely hated). We've also got some snazzy new item icons, including icons for some new tabards, some which may still be placeholders but many of which we've never seen before! Personally, I think my druid will probably still stick to her beloved
but that new Forsaken one is TOO AWESOME; a much needed alternative to the "only decent black tabard"
. Why can't I wear an o
Cataclysm Model Update - New Armor Sets, Minerals and Armadillos! What?
Blizzard just unleashed yet another patch to the Cataclysm beta last night, and with that comes more Cataclysmic model goodness! We've got some interesting new armor set models for each specialization (cloth, leather, plate and mail) and a few new weapons (including what appears to be Deathwing's mace)! We've also found some Cataclysm mineral vein models, a few new objects, and armadillos. I know you guys were thinking, "Man, how could Blizzard EVER top camels? Seriously!" - WELL WE'VE GOT ARMADILLOS NOW. I bet these little buggers roll around all sorts of awesomely. I wonder which one is going to be our new
companion pet? With all these domestic critters getting added, maybe we'll get our moose just yet!\r
We've got pretty pictures of all the model sets that you guys can click to view the armor on the race / gender of your choice in our 3D Model Viewer, so no complaining about any bias in selection of races, okay? Check out the full blog to view 'em all!\r
Cataclysm: Heroic Shadowfang Keep and Deadmines Available at Launch
I know you all heard the bad news that heroic modes for
wouldn't make it in for the launch of Cataclysm. Thankfully, it seems the original appraisal was wrong! Valnoth has come along and posted an announcement stating they will have the heroic modes for both SFK and DM at launch!\r
Heroics are not ready for testing. \r
Heroic Shadowfang Keep and Heroic Deadmines WILL be released with Cataclysm. You will not have to wait for a later patch.
Cataclysm: Zul'Gurub Gone!
Sad news for a lot of people, Valnoth has just made a post on the official forums stating
will be removed in Cataclysm. No word yet on if
will be moved elsewhere, but we can only hope!\r
Zul'Gurub is gone as a raid instance come Cataclysm.
