Firelands Raid Not Coming in Patch 4.1
According to a post over at Eurogamer.net it seems Blizzard has decided to release patches more often and Firelands will not be in 4.1. Blizzard hasn't said anything official on this but the good news is that they want to push new features sooner, rather than waiting for huge content patches like we are currently used to.

BFF Report - Cataclysm 4.1 - Zul'Gurub
Oh look, Blizzard is rehashing old content again.. or are they? I know that ZG is a "kind of a big deal" and the fact that its back is right up there on the "bigdealness" scale, so I decided to throw together a nice dungeon guide for those that are looking forward to it.. and for the noobs that can't not stand in things that kill you for some reason..
Since it's dropping prettydangcloseto raid quality gear, will those of you who aren't raiding yet focus on farming up ZG and ZA, or will you just skip it and get right to 10\/25s?
Overall, how do you guys think it compares to OG ZG?
Latest Cataclysm Hotfixes (March 1)
Just two little hotfixes today. Nobody liked that Tol Barad escort, anyway. In fact, I don't think anyone likes any escort quest.
Flag carriers in rated Battlegrounds now take 25% more damage from all magical and physical attacks. The 25% additional damage from carrying the flag stacks with the Focus and Brutal Assault debuffs. Flag carriers in normal Battlegrounds are not affected by this change.

The quest "
" has not always been correctly awarding players with quest credit after completing the escort event. This quest is being temporarily disabled and removed from the achievement criteria for
. This fix will require a realm restart to take effect.
The Weekly Marmot - Taking out the Trash
This week's discussion centers around "equally interesting yet non-epic-dropping non-bosses", otherwise referred to as "trash mobs". Why are they there? Are they just there to be a time sink? Or are there actually some real benefits to having trash in a raid instance?
PTR Patch 4.1 Notes Updated (3/1)
Just a few quick
changes so far today, and it looks as though the mana cost increase to
may have been reverted. I'm sure we'll see more changes being added as the day progresses and I'll update this post as necessary with the latest patch notes changes!
Be sure to check out the fully updated and Wowhead linkified 4.1 PTR Patch Notes!
's bloom effect has been reduced by 20%. In addition, it now costs 11% of base mana, up from 7%.
damage has been increased by 10% to keep stat parity with other strike changes.

boost to better control Fury burst damage.
Patch 4.1 - PTR Build 13698 - Spell Changes, Icons, Maps
We've got the latest spell changes for you guys - nothing too unexpected, mostly the game getting patched to the adjustments and changes documented in last night's patch notes update!
As a bonus, I've included the latest batch of of new and changed icons, including some new druid spell icons and (perhaps) a seemingly randomly updated icon for the

map, now featuring a large lake and cave south of Zul'Gurub!

PTR Patch 4.1 Notes Updated (2/28)
The first batch of major updates to the PTR Patch 4.1 patch notes has been posted, including some
changes (finally!) as well as some
. In addition, this update also brings adjustments to the battlegrounds flag-carrying debuffs and an obnoxious nerf to
. Looks like more of those beloved PVP changes that end up screwing over players in PVE... oh well.
Update! Apparently Blizzard snuck a few more changes in within the past half-hour, I've added these as well to the full update below so check 'em out! Also, I take back my complaining about the
change because with this latest update, they've added a very strange restoration
(passive) also reduces
's cooldown by 2.5\/5 minutes.
I'm not sure where they're getting the 2.5\/5 minutes, since
is passive and has no ranks, but if we're really going to get 3 minute
after all these years then sign me up!
Other notable changes include:
Flying mounts can now be used in
Winterspring Frostsaber Mount Grind Changed in 4.1
It seems that my speculations were correct! In the first batch of PTR data a few uncategorized spells surfaced involving the care and feeding of Wintersaber cubs. Then, I'm sure many of you noticed the adorable new cub models in our last model post. Finally, today's update brought in the quests that seal the deal - the Winterspring Frostsaber mount grind is being changed in patch 4.1! Instead of requiring a seemingly arbitrary assortment of repeatable quests to increase reputation, the process will instead be (basically) identical that of earning the Horde's
Oh, and for the record - yes, there's a companion pet version of this adorable little kitty. Both Alliance and Horde players will be able to purchase their very own
in Everlook. Attention Pirates! The vendor is a human and not of goblin faction, but is located inside one of the buildings. However, the pet does NOT bind on pickup, so there's really no reason you shouldn't be able to take another, non-pirate character to grab one or get a guildie or friend to help out. :)
