There seems to be no way to fully counter this mission - if it actually exists. Correct me if I'm wrong after hearing me out.

The problem is countering Land Objective, Battleship and Destroyer with just two ships. Now, Murloc Crew on a Carrier or Battleship would work, but murlocs seem to only have a Destroyer and a Submarine - click the link to check. Similarly, Arakkoa Crew would also let a ship counter two objectives, but again it only comes on a Destroyer.

It does much more for your success chance to counter ships and land than it does to counter their abilities, so whichever you pass on is going to leave quite a gap. Perhaps it can be fully compensated for with the right crews and zone buffs, but the mission has no spectacular rewards so I find it odd that you should have to bend over backwards to (maybe) 100% it.

Probably the most dangerous naval missions as this is the only mission where at least one ship threat can not be countered. Being about three times stronger than a base threat, the theoretical highest success chance on this mission is 90%: two ship counters, all threat counters, two Pandaren crews and Air Superiority. Though getting gold as a reward is nice, this mission can theoretically screw up your fleet pretty badly.

Got this mission few times. I think the best way is...avoid this mission at all. 700g? When u drown both your ships you'll understand - it was bad idea. Ofc if you don't care about you ships. Full myth, got all rares etc it make sense. But not for guys like me who still farming missions for gear and w8ing rare missions for heirlooms/mounts

I'm not exactly sure why no one has mentioned/posted about this yet.. but if you intend on doing this mission, THE best way to proceed with this naval mission is to equip both of your ships with 防沉护盾. That way even if you fail, you won't lose your ships. It should give you roughly a 75% chance of success.

I also highly suggest/hope that both those ships have 地精船员 (Horde) or 矮人船员 (Alliance) to triple the gold output.

Tl;dr: Carrier, Battleship, 2 Pandaren Crews, 2 Blast Furnaces, 1 True Iron Rudder, 1 Felsmoke Launcher, Optional Air Superiority/Fearless Privateer, or just ignore it

The way to get 90% (or above) on this mission is as follows:

One Carrier and one Battleship (to counter the Battleship and Destroyer objectives), both with Pandaren crews (they each give a 1% chance greater than human crews on this mission, which combines to a 2% increase).

The Carrier is equipped with a True Iron Rudder and Blast Furnace (to counter Evasive and one Swift) and the Battleship is equipped with a Felsmoke Launcher and Blast Furnace (to counter the First Strike and the other Swift).

All this combined will bring the chance for success up to 90%, which is enough to make it so your ships can't go down into the deep.

If you want a slightly greater chance than 90%, add on Air Superiority or Fearless Privateer to bring it to 92%.

Or, as other people have suggested, just ignore the mission. 700 gold, while a fairly good lump sum, is also fairly easy to come by through dungeons and questing.

Ah yes, the infamous "make-sure-both-ships-have-unsinkable-to-get-rid-of-this-sh-tty-mission" mission.

Which is precisely what you should do, by the way. 300g is not worth two epic ships with useful crews.

Either Blizzards in-game mission calculator or WoWHeads mission calculator is bugged cuz ....
When i fill up the the mission in-game with
Carrier+Blast Furnace+True Iron Rudder+Undead Crew and
Battleship+Felsmoke Launcher+Blast Furnace+Undead Crew
I get a mission succes chance of 89%
When i fill up WoWHead's mission calculator with the exact same setup, I get a mission succes chance of 87%
I do NOT have any air-superiority/privateer buff in-game.
Can some1 else plz confirm this bug or tell me what I am doing wrong.
This urgently needs some attention, cuz if 1 of those ships is replaced with a pandaren crew in-game, it should be possible to complete the mission with a succes chance of 90% and thereby not risk loosing any ship if the mission fails.

Edit: I have now obtained a 90% succes chance ingame with the above suggestion, ergo it is possible to complete this mission without risk of loosing a ship, as stated, a pandaren crew + an undead crew is enough.
