Finally! A way to get Halaa tokens without camping your alts!
Lok-rath, of course, is on the same island as Halaa in Outland.
I hate to be "that person" but.. this is really getting frustrating. Working so hard to get something and then it's basically just handed to people. Nothing ever stays cool and rare anymore. :/
Blizzard owes me $25 for my realm change. -_-
My special snowflake just melted... I'd be more mad if I hadn't cheated to get the PvP tokens by suiciding my lock with lifetap/hellfire during Wrath
this is amazing i really hope this mission and follower will be avalible to both sides, im happy with the amount of tokens it gives so no need to farm alts 175 times
Are missions like this repeatable -
Will I be able to do it two times with my main to get both mounts?
(Or will I need to do it a second time with an alt?)
As of right now, this mission is classified as Rare. It does appear to be repeatable, though, if RNG likes you enough to present it twice.
You also must have at least level 98 followers.
If you have the mission and do not attempt it, it will disappear after rollover (some assumption here, but it will eventually disappear if not attempted).
The Halaa tokens it rewards are sufficient to buy either
Dark War Talbuk
Dark Riding Talbuk
This mission has the Plains mechanic, which means followers with the
trait will have an improved success rate. At this time the Plainsrunner trait can be randomly assigned to certain followers when you acquire them, and some of these random trait followers are exclusive with other non-random traited followers. For example, when the Alliance completes the
in Shadowmoon Valley, they may choose from
as followers. Only Chel and Onaala may have a random trait which has a chance of being Plainsrunner. If you wish to maximize your chances of success for this mission, you may have to select as many random traited followers as possible in order to obtain the Plainsrunner trait.
may also be a helpful, random trait.
The mission also has the Minion Swarms mechanic which is best countered by any of the traits listed
. Clicking on the trait will show which followers possess it. For example,
has MultiShot and one random trait.
A list of all known followers and their traits can be found
Edit: I want to add that only your followers have to be 98 for this mission to show up. I have a level 92 alt whose garrison I'm only managing who received the mission and was successfully able to complete it.
srsly? what a crap...if they rly did this..i´ll be mad D: so..much..@#$%ing..time...lost ...GNAW
So why are people down-voting all of the comments against this? There are people who grinded the tokens, even if it wasn't in the intended way they were stilled grinded, and got the mounts that are basically free to get now because of this quest.
I guess you guys would be in favor of increasing the stratholme mount to a 10% drop or something too, right?
I personally don't have this mount, but it's always frustrating to see them devalue certain items that some people put in effort to obtain.
I think they honestly should have just removed the mount in 3.0 and made it a feat of strength. They did it with the Zul'Aman bear mount, why not this?
To the people who say people who got it weren't doing it the intended way, what exactly is this? Is this quest the intended way to get the mount?
Oh well, it's too late now. Too much time has passed and too many people have exploited to get it that it's basically like a "we screwed up, here take this quest please don't be mad at us" fix.
I just hit this quest, and was so delighted to see that my minion gave me a 100 % on it. I'm *SO* glad I never took the time to cheat those tokens. And, even better, the quest dropped for my mage, so I didn't have to take the time or effort to find my way to Shattrath. Now, off to Halaa.
This is bull&*!@, what is with blizzard making it so easy to get old stuff? The key to succeeding in getting old, awesome items in WoW if you don't want to put in the work. Wait a few years and it is a joke to get.
Some information i could have used. If you send any followers on it and just have it in your mission log for a certain amount of time (dont know how long) it will dissapear, and you must wait for it to come back again some day.
Just so everyone is clear, this is not an Exploration Mission. I just completed a garrison mission with what looked like a telescope, and it has counted towards my 50x Garrison Patrol Mission achievement. I think there may be a mixup, or perhaps there is a bug with Patrol Missions being added up by completed Patrol/Exploration missions, no matter either one.
Already had both of the mounts. Is there any reason to keep these tokens?
how do you get this mission? i keep getting same rare missions ...
This is a Patrol Mission exclusive to the Barracks, that rewards the PVP Halaa tokens from Burning Crusade's Nagrand.
Saw the mission on my alt and was so excited to see them brought back, and just enough for one of the mounts.
For some reason, Wowhead has the spyglass associated with this mission, but it should have the map. I'm submitting a screenshot.
This quest will allow you to get mounts that were PvP-based rewards from the Burning Crusade era.
Reins of the Dark War Talbuk
is worth 100 Battle and 20 Research tokens, while
Reins of the Dark Riding Talbuk
is worth 70 Battle and 15 Research tokens.
The tokens can be redeemed within Halaa in
Outland's version of Nagrand
when your faction has control of the area.
Trying to obtain Battle Tokens is very tedious to nearly impossible at max level due to the lack of other max-level players in the area that will grant the honor necessary to trigger the "drop" of the item. Similarly, Research Tokens are fairly tedious to farm, as they require 10
Oshu'gun Crystal Powder Samples
each, which don't have a high drop rate and cap out at 100, so they need to be turned in as farmed as well.
This mission is a great way to give players the opportunity to acquire items that, while not removed from the game, are no longer feasible to obtain as originally intended.
This mission is classified as an exploration mission, is there a specific building required in your garrison to be able to recieve this mission? My partner got this mission shortly after he reached level 100 when the expansion released, but I have been checking over and over but never got it yet.
I can't be the only one still waiting for this mission to appear for any of my characters
I've had this pop up twice for me (Once on my 95 horde lock, and once on my 95 alliance druid). It showed up once again after about three weeks. I'm not sure if you can see this again on a character you've already seen it on, like with other rare quests. It takes an hour to complete and then you're off to Halaa in Nagrand (Outland) to pick out your new mount!
EDIT- Just got the quest again on my 95 druid, a week later. It's possible to get it on the same character multiple times.
I had those Halaa tokens for 2 weeks or more and didn't even know what they were for until I was looking at different mounts available via the garrison. I so win. lol Yeah yeah you'll down vote me, but that's ok. :D
If you already have everything you need from Halaa, use the tokens to buy and vendor
for the most gold return.
I've just had my worst 1min in my whole life! I was flying around in Northrend and was bored when I clicked at the Garrison report under the map. I looked at my completed quests and thought that I would go to my garrison later. And then I clicked at Availabe Missons to just have something to do when I noticed a map symbol instead of two sword witch it normally is. And then I looked at the rewards and got
surprised that it said you would get Halaa tokens from it witch was the thing I truly needed and I took my mouse over it to see if I could get more info. And then I saw in small yellow letters: Mission Expires in 1 min. First I didn't believe it but then I quickly flew to the groud because if it would be true I had to hurry! So I then took my garrison hearthstone and teleported to my garrison. I clicked on the Command table over and over again to get the missions up but then of course I had to watch the slow rewiew of the quests I had completed... And just when they where done I could see it disappear...
How do you get this mission to spawn?
Do you need a level 98 follower? Or will you still get this if all your followers are level 100?
There's no reason to do this mission once you already have both Dark Talbuks. The tokens can be exchanged for other gear that can be vendored, but the gold you end up with is not worth the time, the effort, or even the 10
to start the mission.
BTW, you can be offered this mission multiple times, even if all of your followers are level 100, it's just rare.
One of the best uses for the tokens as of right now (6.2.3) is to grab gear that is the right armor class for the given character and hold onto it until Legion lands for the new transmogrification changes that will take effect.
I personally will not want to have to do garrison checks or farm these tokens for a certain transmog look in the future.
Just to clarify, you do NOT need a level 98 follower for this to pop. Granted it took awhile, this popped on my main with all level 100 followers.
Edit: UPDATED FOR 9.0.1
I made a weakaura to check the availability of the mission without me having to check my garrison in person. It helped a lot, as I noticed it pop while I was travelling on the broken isles. The ID of the mission is 332, so if you want to monitor another mission, you can simply edit this number in the scripts.
Here's the weakauras' string:
Mysteries of Lok-rath
I have been trying to get this missing to appear by doing all the missions under level 100 on two different toons to no avail.
All my followers are at least level 100, if not actually EPIC (purple) with iLvl of 630 or higher.
Is there any updated suggestions?
Can confirm this mission still appears in 8.0.1.
Thank you DashFury for the awesome weakaura I imported it and the mission just happened to be up on the alt i was on.
Finally got this quest today after waiting months and checking 5 alts. Therefore, I can now confirm two things:
1) This quest still appears in 8.1 (albeit incredibly rarely it seems)
2) The weakaura string posted by DashFury still works. Upon logging it, the notification was in the center of my screen, unable to be missed.
EDIT: Today, 3/15/19 I got this to pop a second time on the same toon (Had still been checking all 5 alts)! Can confirm the weakaura string still workes strong into 8.1.5.
I saw this mission on my garrison table today (03/02/2019) and i have only one follower at level 100, so, the level 98 requirement seems legit.
also, its patch 8.1, can confirm still spawns
I Missed Draenor expansion so I decided 4 months ago to start doing some garrison's missions (for achievements)
Due to my job scheldure I am able to log in once per 2/3 days so until now i am at 638 garisson missions completed.
Unexpectedly while I had no hope to meet this mission on my list, I completed it
Maybe someone else can confirm, but i've had this Garrison Mission pop up multiple times across multiple characters and unless i have the follower required to get the mission success chance to 100%, i have failed this every single time. whether it's 20% or 90%, didn't matter. Does anyone else have a similar experience? Do you think this is something to report to blizz as a potential bug? Or do you think my luck is just trash?
Spawned today for me 08/28 but missions failed with 50% chance :(
10/3/2019 appeared for me by coincidence since I wanted those tokens for mount collection
it's been 9 months waiting for this mission to return and it appeared on this day 7/05/2020
