Works as follows.
- Rune of Re-Origination – 1.012 RealPPM on landing harmful abilities and spells, and melee/ranged abilities and swings. 22 sec ICD
We're going to make some changes to this trinket based on testing and feedback. Our goal was to make it decent if you didn't game it at all but offer some opportunities for enhanced benefits if you did. We're going to try to meet that goal better with these changes:
- 10 sec duration (down from 20 sec) but with double the proc rate.
- Increase your highest secondary stat by 200% of the sum of your two lowest secondary stats. For example: you have 3500 mastery, 5000 crit, 7000 haste. Rune procs, and you get . Same logic as before, just double the size of the buff to your highest stat.
Q: Is the ICD still 22 seconds with the "new" version?
A: Yes. We considered lowering that to match, but held off on that for now.
The proc frequency changes based on the ilvl of the trinket:
541 ilevel = 112.88% proc multiplier
535 ilevel = 106.74% proc multiplier
528 ilevel = 100.00% proc multiplier
522 ilevel = 94.56% proc multiplier
502 ilevel = 78.49% proc multiplier
463 ilevel = 54.57% proc multiplier
- Proc rate multiplied by 0.1 for non-agility specs. Proc rate multiplied by 0.25 against player controlled units. Proc rate multiplied by 1/(1.15^((528-ItemLevel)/15) for the various Item Level versions of the trinket.
This counts for both Unerring Vision and Rune of Re-Origination.

Ghostcrawler explaining how this trinket works:
Warning: technical mumbo jumbo follows.
At proc time, it checks how much crit, haste, and mastery you have (yes, this is a snapshot, and does NOT include the mastery raid buff). It finds which is the highest of those 3 (tie breaking rule: crit trumps haste trumps mastery), and gives you a buff of + to your highest stat, and - and -. For example, if you have 6000 mastery, 3000 crit, 2000 haste, and the proc goes off, it gives you a buff that provides . It does not continue adjusting that buff as stats change during its duration. Yes, this means that if you have a temporary buff to a stat that is not your highest (even with the temporary buff), and that temporary buff falls off during Re-Origination, you *could* end up with negative rating. In this obscure edge case, negative crit does reduce your crit chance, negative mastery does reduce whatever it normally does, and negative haste is ignored.

Trinkets using the RPPM system were modified yesterday, and Throne of Thunder trinkets got further proc changes:
Traditionally, trinkets and similar proc effects in the game had high proc chances with an internal cooldown (ICD). This made the procs random in theory, but really pretty predictable. You would know that a trinket would proc on the pull and then reliably every 45 sec (or whatever the ICD was).
For 5.2, we made a change to trinkets to make them less predictable and less boring with the RPPM system. Sometimes you can get lucky and get several back to back procs. This feels cool. Sometimes you can also be unlucky, and get long streaks when the trinket just refuses to proc. A trinket that is intended to proc every 1 minute could in theory go 8 minutes or more without activating.
Last night we hotfixed in a change for trinkets that use the RPPM system. Every time your trinket fails to proc, it increases the chance it will proc. Unlucky streaks will be more rare and extremely unlucky streaks should never happen. In addition, we increased the chance for these trinkets to proc on the pull. To top it off, we increased the proc rates of the Agility and Strength trinkets in

by 10% and the Intellect and Spirit trinkets by 5%.
Painfully detailed explanation for theorycrafting:
As usual, you absolutely do not need to know or understand the following in order to use or best take advantage of these procs. This info is just for theorycrafters who want to understand the exact details of the system, so that they can model and simulate it better.
Calculate the proc frequency as normal. Based on that, you can figure out the expected average proc interval. We also now keep track of time since the last successful proc (this is different from the time since last chance to proc), capped at 1000 sec. Multiply the proc chance by MAX(1, 1+((TimeSinceLastSuccessfulProc/AverageProcInterval)-1.5)*3). For example, if a proc has an average proc interval of 45 sec, and it’s been 72 sec since your last successful proc, you’ll get a 1.3x multiplier to your proc chance. If you’ve been out of combat for a few min, and it’s been 5 min since your last successful proc, you’ll get a whopping 16.5x multiplier to your proc chance.

Seems to have a wrong tooltip on live servers.
Not showing the double (200%), only normal convert.
Hope it's only a bug and hasn't got changed in the last seconds.
Edit: Tested. Seems like to be a tooltip mistake only.
Had ~3k Crit, ~6k Haste, ~10k Mastery, with proc ~30k Mastery

I am currently using this trinket and upgraded it to 530. My ilevel is currently 526 as an assassination rogue. I am currently forged into mastery rather than haste. (I know that shadowcraft states to forge into haste once you get to a point), but so far I am seeing a huge dps loss rather than what I used before which was the 522 valor point trinket. There might be more to this trinket that I don't know about or I am not taking advantage of its procs. I heard elitist jerks took this trinket out of their ranking due to issues with it. I would think this trinket would be a little more effective especially since it drops off last boss. I think I made a huge mistake with upgrading this trinket. If anyone could give some good feedback with their thoughts it would be appreciated.

Does this still work in 6.1? For an assassination rogue that needs crit trinkets, I wonder if this will still give out full value.

Currently, and surprisingly this trinket is still BIS for many specs of classes(namely those relying on mastery, or with very unfavorable gear choices for your spec) provided you can equip the trinket.
Currently the dps value of this trinket for say, mastery specs is upwards of 3K where as heroic Blackrock Foundry trinkets are around 1.7K+ (differing a bit accross most spec), and given its enormous uptime on easy to proc classes its pretty impressive gain (note referring an upgraded heroic ToT version for these numbers), provided you are not really affected by the haste and minor crit loss. And of course great if you want to stack crit or haste instead as many items have a useless amount of mastery for other specs(like some legendary rings). Though it still stands as the most impressive for mastery. It gets kinda weird with not mastery but its very impressive at 100. Unsure how it functions in mythic warforged gear, but a great booster till you get there either way.
