Cool , personal " iron chef " mini pet . I've got only one question :
Why does it BoP ?
Seems a bit unfair . Especially due cooking abilities .
This item will be craftable by Engineers
coming in 5.2
! The pet itself is currently BoP, its unknown whether this will be cageable. As for looks, its a small walking stove with eyes! along with a metal mustache! (best pet model yet). There are numerous reports that this guy may function as a
, just like
: Fire usage confirmed: 'If you give him a moment to heat up, he makes an excellent cooking fire.'
: Pierre is not coming in 5.2 :(, he has been postponed (to who knows when?).
: Pierre eventually showed up in patch 5.4!
Engineers can now craft their very own pierre via:

Leaving a link to the 3D Model here, since the View in 3D button is greyed out still:
It's so adorable.

Since Pierre is more of a french name, and its a living stove, I was thinking maybe this is a reference to the movie The Beauty and the Beast
Now that's a pet meant for cooking. Just like the way this moves as well.
After looking at Pierre walk in the model viewer,
I Love to Singa

Just as the creativity for Pokemon has turned to
, here marks the same beginning for WoW pets.
rawr im gonna make a pizza and smack you over yer head with it
pet battle won?
Be Our Guest, indeed.
Cogsworth would be proud!
Is he classified as an elemental or a mechanical?
Either way, he's going to
smoke the competition.

. This quest starts from a mob drop on the isle, and is flagged as lvl 90.
Long story short: you will need to level your engineer to lvl90 and at least 500 engineering skill, and farm on the isle if you want this pet. He is, thankfully, account-wide.
Extreme sadness--Pierre is not coming in 5.2. I asked Cory Stockton on twitter after seeing he was gone from the Pet Journal and he
confirmed Pierre was pulled

Pierre is now creatable. Recipe is dungeom drop and it requires engineering lvl 500.
coming in 5.3, lead content designer Cory Stockton just tweeted that.

Available through engineer crafting in 5.4, at least on PTR.
Like Rascal-Bot, this pet is BoP and cannot be traded as a combat pet.
2 questions is this pet account wide and can it be caged?
Is anybody else thinking about Beauty and the Beast when you see this awesome pet? :D
so is it a furnace or?
Does anyone know wether you need Gnomish or Goblin Engineering for this?
I know it probably doesn't matter, but it is usefull information still.
Pierre binds when picked up, but
To obtain the Pierre recipe, and craft the required
, you must obtain
which will teach you several recipes. This only drops for highly skilled engineers. The Energy Sources can only be crafted once per day, meaning Pierre will take a minimum of 15 days to craft.

in the hall of the serpent in guo-lai halls.
This and the other pet that engineers get in 5.4 are useless. Just another just pattern that keeps engineering from being able to be profitable. Binds on pickup and cannot be caged. Don't waste your time with it.
15 sources today, so tempted to just make this little guy instead of the sky golem
Not sure when this was changed, but both
Are no longer BoP and can now be caged for trading or selling.
Just crafted this last night and I have to say kudos to Blizzard on this pet. I simply adore it. The animations alone are amazingly well done and I could sit here and just get lost watching it, getting nothing else accomplished! :D
Well worth the 15 day wait. Well worth it. :)
It's too bad he isn't useable as a forge, than they would just need an anvil pet.
so I crafted Pierre when I was first able to. Love him.
Does anybody else think he sounds a lot like Claptrap from Borderlands?
He reminded me so much of Claptrap b/c of the sounds he makes, that is what I ended up re-naming him. :)
Seriously one of the cutest things in WoW, Also take note of Waffle Joe
Quick math for the materials (assuming no procs on transmutes):
15 Jard's Peculiar Energy Source = 150 ghost iron bars = 300 ghost iron
15 Living Steel = 90 trillium (assuming no Riddle of Steel CD's) = 180 black trillium and 180 white trillium or 900 ghost iron bars = 1800 ghost iron ore
Total in ghost iron ore: 2100 ghost iron ore
15 days of CD's/transmutes
Pierre is Peter in French.
Probably my favorite pet of the 400+ I own. The still photo does not do him justice.
His flavor text:
"Every cook's dream wrapped up in a perfect bundle of metal and bolts. Too bad what he cooks up isn't suitable for humanoid consumption. According to
's notes, he intends to make this little guy for his friend,
I suspect that the name just might be in honor of Pierre-Auguste Renoir who has done a painting of a woman kneeling in front of a stove that looks like the battlepet Pierre.
I love this pet! He is my favorite of all the pets in world of warcraft, I just think he's so funny. I wish he played fetch with the
but alas he does not seem to want to go get them, though he does turn to look at them when I toss them around Stormshield.
If you keep him out as your main pet, keep in mind he will occasionally stop to smell the flowers, and will take his sweet time to catch up and let you cook. I highly advise keeping him on the action bar spot formaly reserved for your cooking fire, as it will let you quickly get him, rather than have to walk over to him like a peasant.
strategy you're going to get.
Go to Draenor, pick/choose a fight with ANY pet (besides Legendary ones, like in
, cause that's just insta-suicide since Pierre kinda sucks) So have Pierre as the first to fight/default/1st slot, then in 2nd slot a LVL 1 Battle Pet and then another
level 25 in 3rd slot (Be sure to not fight
as they are immune to sleep/stun etc)
and have him cast
. this will put the enemy to sleep for
rounds, enough time to swap out
, bring the LVL 1, have it attack and then swap back to
slot LVL 25. you will gain 5-8 lvls per battle, until about level 13 then 2-3 lvls until about 18, and after that, if you have The
at your Garrison, just throw a few of those
stones you get for doing your
Daily Pet Battle
and voila, you just got that sweet, rare quality that just dropped in that raid a couple hours ago to a lvl 25 Beefcake.
For anyone else wondering where to learn this, you automatically learn this, Rascal-Bot, and Sky Golem when you learn the Jard's Peculiar Energy Source which is a drop in MoP.The highest drop seems to be in raids. Hope this helps!
Here's a handy macro that summons Pierre and opens your cooking skill window:
/run local n,j,p,s,i="Pierre",C_PetJournal p=j.GetSummonedPetGUID() s,i=j.FindPetIDByName(n) if not p or j.GetPetInfoByPetID(p)~=s then j.SummonPetByGUID(i) end
