Unexpectedly, this is an incredible consumable for rogues, DPS warriors, enhancement shamans in many TBC boss fights. When I originally posted this comment it was useful on the back-end of Kara and Magtheridon, but now of course it's useful for almost all of Hyjal, a good portion of Black Temple, and of course the DPS-fest that is Brutallus...some even consider this forlorn elixir essential for rogues who don't have warglaives.
I've heard that this AP does not effect hunter ranged AP, can anyone confirm/deny ?
Not for hunters. This applies to melee attack power only.
You forget to mention that this is learned from a Recipe:Elixir of Demonslaying
Really, Really good for Brutallus.
Since they nerfed flasks a few patches back, this exlir is much better for many TBC bosses.
That's odd that it no longer applies to RAP. Elixir of Demonslaying + the 2-Handed Sword w/ + AP against Demons (Demonslayer?) were both huge boons for hunters when doing their Rok demon killing quest from MC. Although admittedly I'm not surprised Hunters get the shaft on this now.
From patch notes (2.4.2)
Elixir of Demonslaying: This elixir now grants ranged attack power against demons as intended.
Seems hunters will have to start farming these aswell!
Do these proc from Elixir Mastery Alchemists?
Here is a list of bosses that these are useful on:
The question is, why would you use elixirs of demonslaying for hyjal trash waves? Being fully buffed for trash in this case is a complete waste, likewise for BT because of all the humanoids thrown in.
Mostly due to how difficult it is to obtain the mats for these using them on trash is, more or less, out of the question.
Edit: This is aimed at Aijo's post above.
How many demons are there in wotlk?
Lord Jaraxxus is a Demon in T9 Crusader's Coliseum. These should provide your melee and hunter's a nice DPS boost during this encounter.
As of 3.3, it looks like they changed Elixir of Demonslaying. The duration has increased from 5 minutes to an hour, but it no longer provides 265 attack power.
