does this let me serve my guildies human flesh and tell them its chicken?
Guess some people really wanted to humiliate their opponent further... I welcome this item!
I really hope this is like dK corpse explosion, but let's me turn my friends into the cooked Turkey model or a pie or something.
oooh now I can carve up fresh Orc steaks and fry them up with Teldrassil's finest seasonings.
I suppose this is the closest we're ever going to get to skinning tauren... Om nom nom.
hmm.. based on the trouble Ultima Online got from being about to cut up other players dead bodies (to collect bounties) i would question Blizz's addition of a similar system. Personally I was hoping it worked like skinning but gave you cooking mats..
Hmm... it probably works like some quest items do. There's one like that in Southern Barrens for the Horde called Parts-is-parts. The item used is
that probably has the exact same effect: turns a body into a pile of meat...
Since the game is a bit cartoonish about the dismembering, I doubt it'll get the same response that old Ultima Online effect on claiming bounties.
But wait, there's more!
Comes with a free copy of this
I love Blizzard - Spell effect says "slap n' chop"!
finally we can cook gnome!
...sorta can no longer be used on enemy corpses
along with cannibalize at least
in bgs thanks blizz. canibalize has been fixed but this still can't be used on enemy bodies from my recent testing at least..
Somehow this reminded me from Darklegacy Comics char named Gigz and her ways to get meat to her meals...
I purchased this item tonight. I was told early on that it would allow you to essentially salvage cooking meat from a corpse once every 20 minutes. I'm not sure if that was true at some point but as of now it seems to just be a fun vanity toy. A very fun vanity toy, but as far as I can tell there's no practical use as far as cooking.
This item appears to do absolutely nothing as of 10/12, besides "look neat".
Killed a Mushan, looted it, and used the knife. I did a chopping animation for around 10 seconds while guts flew everywhere, then the corpse turned into a pile of guts... but nothing was lootable.
Very, very disappointing. Considering how annoying it is to farm meats for the cooking recipes, I expected this item to give those of us at exalted an extra boost in materials. Unless you think it's funny to chop a corpse into bits, I wouldn't waste the gold to buy this.
Here is a video of it in action:
Please feel free to use it in the video tab if deemed acceptable.
Who else was reminded with that quest in Howling Fjord when you first enter Wrath of the Lich King expansion and saw one of the early quest require you to mutilate corpses so it cannot be revived?
Who thought to themselves, damn this is messed up... I need this as a permanent item.
Well... now I can look somewhat more civilized when using cannibalism.
it slices it dices it makes bloody piles of meat! that's right friends how often have you ben wandering in the wild and some stupid beast ruins your day? well now after you kill it you can desecrate its body in style. nothing says keep the hell away from me like a fresh pile of bloody slop at your feet.
Great another 200+ gold item that's worthless. All the new vanity items in MOP is great and stuff, but when they start costing over 200g to do nothing. That's taking it to far.
This would have been good if you were able to farm animals for meat. Not a silly choping animation with a 20min cd.
With these, you can be Chef Assassin. Go find yourselves a Comrade Snarky.
That reference might have been too obscure...
WARNING : cutting an opposed faction corpse not only tags you for PvP, but it's also considered a hostile action by neutral guards. It's a shame cooking is punished by retaliation :p
This is pretty much the new Corpse Explosion, as while actual Corpse Explosion no longer works on anything of value, this set will dice raid bosses, enemy players, and just about anything else you care to turn into a bloody pile of meat.
Well, as long as its a humanoid or beast, I suppose.
EDIT: Aaaand now you can't use this in instances anymore. Fantastic.
HI, BILLY MAYS HERE WITH THE GIN-JI KNIFE SET! IT SLICES! IT DICES! IT'LL EVEN DO YOUR TAXES! **rip** **tear** ** shred**
I'm surprised this wasn't answered (inadvertently or otherwise), but does this work on allies? Like, can I walk up to a friend's corpse in a raid and slice him to pieces?
It can be used on friendly targets...including your own pet and faction.
Remember the old Gin-Su knives sold in the 80's?
Well here at Halfhill Cutlery we have our own new and improved version - Gin-Ji Knife Set!
It slices, it dices, it will julienne the corpses of your enemies or most beasts you come across.
Sorry we don't have a toll free number you can call. You have to travel all the way to Pandaria and purchase this set from our lovely vendor Gina Mudclaw in the center of the Halfhill Market.
Disclaimer: Due to Azerothian Law, this item cannot be taken out of Azeroth or Outland. No going to Middle Earth and using on Gollum or Smaug.
How sweet, Blizzard.
Using this may reduce the respawn time of Humanoid and Beast type mobs.
While named quest mobs, (those with a "!" on their nameplate), will respawn over their own corpses, other mobs will not. Unlooted corpses take a long time to disappear, looted corpses fade and respawn faster. Skinning (or herbing or mining) mobs eliminates the need for them to fade/disappear. If the meaty carcass that using the Gin-Ji Knife Set leaves on the ground is no longer considered a corpse, then Humanoids and non-skinnable Beasts effectively become "skinnable" for respawn purposes, and non-skinners gain the farming advantage on skinnable Beasts that skinners have always had, minus the leather.
I WANT THE ARTERRRRRRRRRIEEEEEEEEEEEEES!
An obvious reference to the Ginsu knife set from the 80s commercials, but let's not forget the other half is a homage to the ability to cut up a corpse in Ultima Online (UO). UO allowed players to cut up enemy corpses and take the heads, arms, legs, and torsos. My PVP guild had several chests at the top of our towers filled with enemy heads. You would find heads in strange places in UO. It always gave a chuckle to break into some player's house and find a few heads of people you knew in cupboards, chests, and other player-made furniture.
I have a question. Is the target corpse still resurrectable?
Humanoid? mfw :O You know who I bet has this? Rona Greenteeth
Endorsed by the world famous
, Who uses the to bring out the pinnacle of flavor of his Gnome dishes.
Combination hookah and coffee maker, also makes julienne fries! It will not break! It will no-It broke...(##RESPBREAK##)8##DELIM##ElhonnaDS##DELIM##
Well, this is a must have item if you are going to kill Garrosh... *smiles and giggles psychotically*
Tonight's the night
Goes really well with
Edit: If you're a DK top it off with
This item can be used in the arena :D
did anyone really think blizz would give you another gathering profession just for getting exhaulted with an easy faction?
For those who are whining that it does nothing you need to watch your bag. The meat will be automatically added to your bag without having to loot it. Just pay attention to everything in your bag.
Puts you in combat for the duration of the channel. Hmm, could this be the first time in WoW where you can be in combat with a corpse?
= Great pvp fun.
Quite hilarious in PvP when you're undead. Pair's nicely with
to make quite the grotesque and bloody mess of all those pretty lookin alliance folk. Get a few of your zombie-bro's to join in and you've just recreated a scene from a George Romero film. And at the risk of alienating a lot of my undead brethren who swear by Gnome, I'd say Night Elves seasoned correctly of course, are the most tender!
This is really annoying. I bought this on the hope that I'd get more meat. I mean, it says "Chop, mince and julienne". It's really misleading.
Worst of all, if you do use it, you can't skin the corpse.
Even more useless than Mourning Glory, which can be handy in groups for finding corpses.
Downed Garrosh on 10man this week.
Saw his body, unconcious but alive.
NO WARLORDS OF DRAENOR FOR YOU
Obviously, very obviously, this is an item blizzard made to us renegades, the only use it may ever have is to use it before cannibalizing the corpse. Very nice way for and undead rogue to deal with foes :)
So, thanks blizz ;)
i worked hard to get this and on 7/14 i saw a dead horde that had not left his body. It did nothing. Do they have to be pvp for me to chop them?
i wanted to add this to my torch and really mess with people after they die. Pst can you rez me. Why yes..... burn ,,,, chop chop.... leave.
Save your 200 gold and search Gin-Ji Knife Set on YouTube to see the effect/animation. You'll be satisfied not having spent the money for it.
This WILL aggro the guards on Timeless Isle.
If you get this on a toon exalted with Tillers, you cannot use it with any of your other toons unless they have sufficient rep with the Tillers.
Macro for ferals:
(after killing something/someone)
/cancelaura Bear Form(Shapeshift)
/cancelaura Cat Form(Shapeshift)
/cancelaura Travel Form(Shapeshift)
/cancelaura Claws of Shirvallah
/use Gin-Ji Knife Set
anyone up for ragnar-os? I got the knife and your spoon
Okay so today is 2016-11-18 and I just noticed that I can't even use this in raids anymore? Why? What the hell is wrong with this DUMB company constantly taking things away from us?
FUN POLICE coming through! WEEEEOOOOOO WEEEEEOOOOOO WEEEEE WOOOOOOOOOOoooooooo, REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Since this was not mentioned in any of the previous comments, this toy does not actually give you any inventory items. it is strictly an animation only. Basically the animation is of you slicing up the corpse of whatever you killed. You do not loot any items by using the toy.
I love this toy, the only two things that are stupid about it are:
1.) It puts you in combat
2.) Guards will attack you for using it on a corpse even if you never attacked said target.
