These are randomly gathered from Herbs. They currently do not have any Herbalism requirement, but they are BoP.
Seem to be the MoP version of
Two types are gathered:
Beta Build 15882
Currently (Beta Build 15961), these are obtainable by people without the herbalist skill through farming. They drop randomly from harvesting
. If this is as intended, then that would be why there is no Herbalism requirement on using this item.
I would have to say that this WOULD be one of the best benefits of having Herbalism. Problem is, mats are really cheep in making both
that it makes all these benefits slightly redundant for herbalist/alchemists. Also, you can only use one of these at a time during a fight and does not benefit from things like
IMO, if level was irrelevant and we were strictly focusing on benefits to player when herbing, this is what I would put my list of most to least beneficial.
which is: really nice while grinding/farming, don't need to buy food to supplement health/mana, and you look hilarious to boot!)
Your non-herbalists can get these by planting
on your farm at Halfhill.
These unfortunately share a cooldown with mana pots, and so are essentially a replacement of them, rather than an addition. You can only use it once per fight - the cooldown does not reset in combat.
i wonder if these have somehow been increased (or if a perk/profession is doing it) like the lifespirit on 30OCT2012 is telling me ingame that it restores 72,000 health, while wowhead's tooltip says 60,000
(i've gotten stacks upon stacks of lifespirit, but haven't seen the first water spirit)
Noticed on my monk that only life spirits dropped until 5.1 hit. Not sure if this was a bug for monks or not, but it seems to be fixed now.
Maybe non-mana classes only get life spirits because they don't use mana? If any warrior/death knight/hunter/rogue out there cares to confirm...
Your alternatives for mana restoration that trigger your pot CD in MoP are:
(if an Alchemist)
If you don't plan on using them or they are of no use to your class, they can be a great item to vendor if you're a herbalist.
They vendor for 60s each, and herbing you will get a few stacks of them, with each stack = 12g per stack.
Just a tip instead of destroying them to make space for herbs (like I used to do).
I usually have plenty of these from herbing so I don't need to find an alchemist or go to the AH for pots anymore.
Can be used as a small mana pre-pot for healers in healing intensive fights, since the effect is over time. One example is Norushen in SoO.
