A Horde only reward from
If it is, then it is
Likely to only be available for a limited time. (Unknown at this time if the lvl 90 version will also reward the bomb).
the next time I hear a Blood Elf laugh again I will threaten them with the wrath of the mana bomb!
This is from the 2012 Mists of Pandaria "Launch Event"
(edit: quotes added since this isn't officially a launch event reward)
The launch event awards
(depending on faction) to all players who took part in the event and did the full questline associated with it. Once MoP (Mists of Pandaria) launches, this FoS and the special event reward from it (
) will forever be unavailable.
a little morbid considering what we do with the full sized mana bomb
Well, after witnessing what a non-mini one can do to a city, I'm not sure putting this little guy into your bags is a wise move.
EDIT: This item comes attached to the following in-game mail from Thalen Songweaver:
I'd wanted to once more express my gratitude for your assistance in that little... Theramore debacle, as I've come to refer to it. Such a mess. Captured! Me!
In any case, I took the liberty of having a bit of a memento crafted in honor of your deeds.
Is it in poor humor? Perhaps. Although really, I cannot help but giggle every time I see it.
I do hope this letter finds you well.
Until we meet again!
This elf is scary.
I don't want it...
Seems a bit of a slap in the face to Horde players. The Alliance get a cool tabard & we get a stupid little toy. Lame!
"In bad humor" indeed. I feel like an absoloute prick now.
What does this actually do when you use it?
The European servers have the scenario active already, those of us across the pond are still waiting.
It is possible to throw this item while mounted without dismounting.
just uploaded a small video to show the explosion..
( sorry for quality )
My God, what have we done?
Some people on this page are going way too far. Your reactions to a city being bombed in a game are unwarranted and just silly.
As far as I can tell, this vanity item does nothing more than give a short-range, long cooldown graphical purple explosion similar to the mana bomb that you allow to be dropped on Theramore and further similar to some mage AoE ability (I think... I have seen this kind of explosion before, but have never actually rolled a mage and cannot give specifics.)
Although it does not trigger a global cooldown, it cannot be used as a part of a macro to use it alongside a targeted AoE ability (EDIT: Both channeled and instant-cast). This is a bit of a shame, as then it could have been used to at least offer a little bit of flavor to some spells.
It will not cause damage.
It will not destroy critters.
It will only serve to remind you that the Horde succeeded in wiping an Alliance town from the globe.
For me, having played through the optional Horde campaign from Warcraft III's Frozen Throne expansion (The Founding of Durotar), I feel a bit sad about revisiting Theramore Isle in this manner. When I stormed those streets once before, it was as a Champion of the Horde tearing down a threat that the Horde could not ignore. I was building for my people a nation alongside Thrall. I was allied with Jaina Proudmoore, and afterward we all went our separate ways a little torn from the clash but standing tall with understanding. I was with her at Hyjal when we destroyed Archimonde in two different games. Jaina loved the Orcs and their Horde, and this... Just makes an older player a little sick. I don't have any Alliance characters myself, but I watched their scenario videos, and I weep at some of the things Jaina was driven to say. I should look into reading the novel, but I imagine it would only tug at my heartstrings a little bit more. Lok'tar ogar, Blood and Thunder, For the Horde, and all the other sayings... But I'd be lying if I were to say that this is how I wanted the conflict with the Alliance to go.
As far as this item goes, in the end, my only use for it is to throw it away and bitterly type "DELETE."
Another jolly little tinker toy, perfect for any mad scientist or evil genius! Useful for destroying the space time continuum if you only want to sabotage a small area.
This is usable while mounting (even while mid air) AND is very reusable! (someone asked me earlier)
Is it too much to ask for it to cause SOME damage?
I would've much rather preferred a tabard instead of this.
Could this be one of the "war crimes" causing Garrosh to be the 'final' boss of MoP?
I mean come on, this little bauble is atrociously bad!
More junk to take up bag space if you actually would keep this pos. Maybe if your emo, or really wrapped up in this game and dress up irl like some kinda wizard or warrior and have zero life or friends you might want to keep this to recall the "good ole days" I believe the rest of us will be typing "delete"
This does turn into the tabard then you FC
this item will be converted into
if you faction change
Not surprising, but if you faction change you'll lose this. Didn't think about it before it went through and now it isn't in my bags.
You'll get the tabard if you swap but it might not be switched the first you time log in after. It wasn't for me.
Interestingly enough you can use this item whilst on a flightpath mount.
Here are my thoughts on the events surrounding this item, and the item itself. Personally while I do admit the Bombing of Theramore Isle was very much overkill, I do not think it was unjustified. The Alliance invasion of the Barrens caused a lot of deaths, mostly on the Horde side. Entire tauren towns, most notably Camp Taurajo, were destroyed in the fighting, and the Alliance, despite the wishes of General Hawthorne, made very little effort to spare civilians. The invasion force was originally based at Theramore, and the city served as the staging ground for the invasion.
Seeing Taurajo destroyed, as a Horde player for life, was really hard to look at. Listening to the Alliance looters laugh as they walked over the corpses of the fallen picking the ruins clean was even harder. But what made my heart break in two was laying the fallen to rest, watching their ghosts act out their final moments of life. One poor tauren woman was slain while trying to save children. Looking at the baby tauren orphans in the camp to the north was also painful. Someone will have to explain to them eventually why they don't have parents anymore.
Again I am not saying I agree with the Bombing of Theramore, but to say no retaliation was justified is wrong. The Alliance had to made to understand it is not okay to just march into a foreign land and target civilian towns, even if there is a war going on. War should not include civilians.
As for the mana bomb, while it may be in poor taste, it serves as a reminder of the horrors of war. I keep it as a reminder of how far both the Horde and the Alliance have fallen since this war began. I hope the conflict can end before more towns and cities are wiped off the map.
Edit: I challenge those down voting me to prove me wrong. Explain to me why you think retaliation for an unprovoked massacre is wrong.
People seem to forget that all citizens were evacuated days before the bomb dropped. Says so in the book.
Only soldiers died. It was funny too because the best of Alliance generals and soldiers were all there.
I mean despite everything else Garrosh is a master tactician and the way he disposed of the Alliance's finest was brilliant.
But don't get me wrong, I am against Garrosh's policies, just not this specific event.
This didn't seem to make it into the toy chest for some reason.. odd.
official Patch 6.1 PTR Notes: "Mini Mana Bomb has been added to the Toy Box for Horde characters that have completed the achievement, Theramore’s Fall."

For anyone wondering, alliance characters who completed this achievement did not get this toy added to their toybox, even though the tabard we received is supposed to be an "equivalent" of it. At present, it seems if you want this as alliance, you'll have to faction change your character with the tabard, and then faction change back. Source: Contacted a GM about it.
Mini Mana Bomb
is unobtainable any more, because you could get it for
for Alliance - a tabard can be bought from
There is an error on this page linking to new scenario achievement
(Horde). Those achievements will NOT award the toy
Mini Mana Bomb
If the Mini Mana Bomb doesn't show up in your Toy Box and you definitely have completed the achievement in the past: open a ticket
, choose server and character you have earned the achievement with and ask if they can send you the toy.
I completed the achievement but I haven't received the toy-> I wrote a ticket and 2 hours later a GM sent me the Mana Bomb.
just bought it today 7-28-15 on my lvl 100 dk. So its still in-game! Might be Horde only?
Can anyone confirm what would happen if I faction changed my alt who competed this scenario at 90 to horde. Would the tabard become the mini mana bomb, which i could then click, and would be added to my toybox so that my main can see it?
they should let ppl have both faction rewards for doing the event at that time it was obtainable. since i also looked at the cata pre event toys i got both faction rewards for doing it on 1 faction.
I did the event on one character only, my Horde Blood Elf. After obtaining the
, it sat in my bank until it became a toy, which I quietly added to my collection and have never once used.
With the tabard tab coming in the upcoming expansion, a thought occurred to me. As I no longer have any need for my character to be Horde and have recently started playing Alliance more, I faction changed my character, went to
and checked her vendor tab and she sold me the tabard.
I do not know what would happen to the tabard if I faction changed back to Horde, but it is possible to purchase the missing toy, at the very least, from the event vendor on the toon you did the event on.
The original Mana Bomb, that was dropped on Theramore, had the equivilant damage of that of a nuke...so, does that mean, that this Mini Mana Bomb, has the equivalence of a mini-nuke?
With the wardrobe in 7.0 prepatch, is it possible to add the Alliance tabard to the wardrobe, buy the tabard again via that vendor, and then faction change to get it changed to mini mana bomb? Adding more incentives for me to faction change.
Should you lose this toy (or, like me, faction-changed before it was account-wide), it is sold by
outside Theramore. I was really upset when I faction-changed back to the Horde and I still didn't have the toy. A GM kindly pointed me towards Zidormi and I FINALLY have it back.
It's not that deep guys.
