I had this drop for me while grinding in Badlands, TWICE. I don't know why, but I chose to turn a pretty profit off this bad boy. It's nothing spectacular, but the farmers and kids with tons of money will buy this up quickly on the AH.

Conclusion :: Sell this for your mount money! 100-175 BO.

This dropped for me today while doing quest in Feralas (The ogres of Feralas) from a Gordunni Mauler. Was in desperate need for gold to buy mount so guess if I was hapy!! =P

This weapon seems to be the best for lvl 39 Twink. It doesn't give any stats, but if you have money, you can enchant something good on it. This weapon is good especially against rogues, because of the chance on hit.

But I would skip that weapon, because it doesn't give any stats that are necessary for a twink.

Got one funny and also true story with this weapon. My friend was doing some quests with 2 hunters in STV. Then suddenly Dazzling Longsword dropped and they all selected greed. My friend (Priest) was lucky with the roll, so he got it and hunters immediately said to him: "NINJA"! You don't need that weapon. Then my friend said that hunters don't need it neither. Then they had a big argue about whether is it a hunter weapon or not. He said that It doesen't give any stats, so it's pointless for hunter. Better choose a weapon that gives stats and are better. After that argue, hunters finally realized that he's right and he could keep the sword. He sold it to a guild mate for about 50g.

I've had this sword on my paladin since level 36 along with Wall of the Dead (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=1979).

1) It procs quite regularly, often five times in fight, but does not stack.

2) The speed of 1.70 gives it good synergy with Protection talents such as Reckoning and the seals/judgements that restore mana and health. It's pretty insane actually - with a bit of luck I can regain almost 900 mana back in one Reckoning sweep.

3) The DPS is not bad even at 50, though there are obviously stronger swords around. I am hoping to upgrade to either the Hanzo sword, which is faster, higher DPS and has a more useful proc (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=8190) or Doomforged Straightedge (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=12535) which has good +bonuses on it.

4) It looks really nice with Battlemaster enchant.

I'd highly recommend this for paladins with money to burn over swords like the Sword of Omen (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6802).

After spending 200g on this sword and another 30g on fiery enchant i cant say im unhappy with it.

If i had the chance again however i wouldnt buy it. As a protection spec paladin i was just as well off using a Knightly Longsword (1.50 speed) as i am with this.

If you have money to burn go for it but otherwise i would just stick with a knightly longsword http://www.wowhead.com/?item=864 (for alliance) or a sword of omen http://www.wowhead.com/?item=6802 (for horde).

This was my first epic that dropped from a random mob :). The amazing thing was that i got two of them in less than 1,5h ! Sold both of em and got 285g. Both of thoes swords dropped in dustwallow marsh.

Got this for about 140g from the AH. The sword procs, a lot, in pvp and pve. 30 second Faerie Fire from a prot paladin? Yes please! Best gold I ever spent.

I managed to obtain both the Dazzling Longsword & the Green Tower for my Level 36 BE Paladin (yes it is still level 36 as I write this, I obtained them both yesterday), I had them in her bag and equipped the moment she hit level 36.

The armour reduction buff definately proc's very often. I put Crusader on my sword because my main unfortunately does not have Savagery.

This sword + Crusader + the Green Tower w/+18STA enchanted on the shield = I will love hitting 39 and dominating! (oh ya and I have the Wall of the Undead waiting for me if I ever get this character to 45!)

P.S. On my server, I snagged the sword for 200g on the alliance AH, enchanted it w/ my level 70, then sent it thru the neutral AH with the help of a friend to my BE paladin!

Got this for 170g of Ah, good price seen as it's usaly 150 on other server's and some guy had for 500g in AH lol, whacked a crusader on it and get the agis of scarlet shield with +15 stam and bob's your uncal your instant pwnage lol, Best gold ever spent and this is the 2nd lowest lvl epic in the game.

Just plz people know what your mainhand speed should be, this is only good for a prot warrior or prot pally... and even then... I'd go with something with stam

Since this requires level 36 to use then it has the additional benefit of allowing you to put an expansion enchant on it to seriously boost its potential.

It may not have an ideal speed for enchant procs, but to say that rogues/warriors shouldn't buy this is going a bit far. With so many twinked rogues running around in the battlegrounds, it's not unreasonable for any melee class that can use swords to want a proc that prevents rogues and feral druids from stealthing, even if it reduces their dps. This may be an excellent weapon for paladins, but that doesn't mean it's of no use to rogues or warriors. Let's not get possessive of the loot here; there are plenty of drops for everyone, unless you're on a low-pop server :(

I actually picked this up from "Baron Vardus", a syndicate NPC in Alterac Mountains. Baron Vardus is not displayed as one of the people who drop the sword, though, but let it be known that he does indeed drop it.

just got this beast at level 36. i had some spare gold so i threw a fiery enchant on it. i must say it is one of the best swords ive seen for around 36-50. when used with seal of the crusader it procs about every 6 hits.

What's a good price to sell this thing at? Wowhead's Buy Out says 150g and my Auctioneer says 900g. That's a huge difference in price level. What's a good price to start out.

i just brought it for my sub rogue and with my specc 0/5/25 i have 100 dps on offhand with that alone (when the mongoose buff linghtning speed has activated other wise its 80-90) so this weopon is a must have and goes beutifully with sentinals blade (lvl 38 version). a couple of days ago i downed a twink war with loads of defence rating i repeat ITS A MUST HAVE WEAPON FOR TWINK ROGUES!

also for twinks you should get the lvl 70 pvp shoulder inscript that increeses stam by 30 and hit rating by 15 you can put this on a heirloom then send it to your alts

Sorry but what he said is true, this is a terrible main hand for rogues or warriors. You didn't really read his comment and just disagree with him? If i see anyone using a 1.5 1.7 1.9 speed in main hand they are absolute n00bs esp when you can easily get Mallet of Zul farrak for twinks now

Would a 39 human warrior twink benefit more from this sword for tanking than the heirloom sword?

I mean the heirloom sword has crusader max enchant which is not bad at all, this sword however has a faster speed and is TBC enchantable (mongoose maybe? or still go with crusader)

Sadly, this weapon is no longer gold (in model). It now has a silver hilt with blue-green accents. Same model as the Alliance WSG 1H sword.

This really disappointed me when I realized the money I spent on it for the model went to waste not a few months after I got it.

I have to tell you all HOW HOT this item is! It dropped on my priest but I didn't have a clue how hot it really was.
I saw that it was really special and thought it might be more to it than I could tell from reading on it.
Didn't check it up on wowhead or anything (very stupid). But I thought it looked strangely cool IN PURE GOLD, so I set the AH-price HIGH AS HELL, just in case.
Guess my surprise when it sold on buyout in 2 hours for 15000g. This was on Argent Dawn, RP, today.

I'm happy and I think the buyer is too.:)

I am curious. I was testing the Bashguuder, which has also reduces the targets armor. I was attacking a brewmaster with the heirloom bonus armor neck and cloak. I noticed that the effect only lowers the targets base armor and does not lower the bonus armor values. Is this a buggy tooltip or is bonus armor not affected by armor reductions procs like these?
