Dropped by Jonn-Dar (a rare elite in Valley of the Four Winds).
Using it summons a Mogu Terracotta Warrior guardian to fight with you, and this guy kicks ass.
~700k health, and lasts for 10 minutes unless he dies. What the trinket doesn't tell you is that he constantly spams
on anything attacking you, with around a 6 second cooldown, uses
every 6 seconds, and
if you're under attack from more than one enemy.
Even though he only hits for ~5k damage he seems strangly able to hold aggro even against righteous fury.
He is able to dodge and parry, and has the equivalent of plate armor, though he does take aoe damage and can be crit.
Can be healed by anything that would heal a player.
It seems too good to be true at the moment, if not he's not nerfed then this is your pocket tank for all those things you ever wanted to solo.
His one drawback is that he doesn't seem to recognise party members, and tank mobs that are hitting them as well as he does on ones hitting you.

God, this is SOOO going to be awesome for soloing old content !
Jonn-Dar is clearly another reference to the Templar follower in Diablo 3.
The Templar accompanies you in a fight against "Jondar," a former Templar who betrayed his brethren by becoming a necromancer.

A Worthy Opponent
Could We Find More Like That?
Because what great warrior is without his Terracotta army.
Can we find more like that?
Black magic bars our way... But the will of a Templar is stronger!
Do you see that enemy over there?
followed by 2 chamion packs wrecking face
Does this item share a cooldown with
9pm ish central, was exploring , and mining, came across a 86 hunter sittin chillin, seena big mob as i rode my mount past him, seen the silver dragon portrait, charged popped cd,s didnt even look how much hp this guy had, but it dropped this trinket, plate dps gloves, and a green bag with ores and such in it, had a ton of hp but soloed it easily as single minded fury 410 wepon each hand, will post screenshots
-intimidator 85 NE Warrior
Does he despawn if you unequip the trinket after summoning?
First of all, this guy is Ahhhhmazing. As someone said earlier, perfect little pocket tank. I've already used him on 2 or 3 rares and he pretty much held aggro the whole time. On my rogue, this guy is a god-send.
, be careful with this guy around mobs - he will aggro EVERYTHING. Would be really nice if you could set him on defensive only, similar to hunter pets. Kind of annoying when questing and trying to avoid certain spots. I'd say anything up to about 15 yards he will charge!
Like other similar trinks, summoned mob disappears when you switch this trinket with other trinkets.
Honey badger don't care, honey badger don't give a s***.
Fun fact the guardian it spawns is effected by party grenades
Yeah hes a top guy and you can use him in Battlegrounds too, not Arena or RBG. On my first and as of yet only PVP use of him me a Frost Mage (with high dps setup for dungeon mobs) and a Ret Pally n Hunter took on 3 and a healer at Lumbemill and he took 400k damage, I took quite a bit too but we won the place, can go on and on with him around.
Anybody know his dodge, parry, or block ratings are? i know he is meant for tanking because he can out-tank me, and i am a bada$$ at tanking; but if he can't dodge, parry, or block, then i need to know that because i solo raid a lot.
Soloed on 87 with my DK, he has 1.8m HP. The trinket is realy funny. :)
extremelly disapointing item, since his Mocking blow ability won't taunt raid bosses and thats how he holds aggro. Still you can use it for soloing HC dungeons, world rares and such
Actually, he CAN taunt certain raid bosses. That's how I've managed to solo Onyxia on my Rogue. As soon as she switches to me and gets one attack off, he immediately taunts her right back.
Has anyone tried this in Brawler's Guild fights? (I would but I don't have an invite.)
Can anyone who has the trinket tells me if it can be used to solo bloodlord mandokir ? I mean when you get decapitated will the guardian stay so you can be rezzed ?
This warrior is essentially useless against the Mantid rares. Especially the level 90 ones. They use Blade Flurry and he goes down.
Just want to start off by saying that I love this trinket ... the Terracotta Warrior is great. He's saved my squishy lock butt a lot. But, just found out how his overeagerness to destroy everything in his path can be troublesome. I was doing my Molten Front dailies and had just been killed by an Alliance. So I rezzed and equipped my trinket for extra backup.
It took me
to even leave the ramp coming out of Malfurion's Breach. The Terracotta Warrior was attacking everything that showed as red. I did fine and was able to finish killing everything that he aggro'd (
ftw)-- it was just aggravating not being able to move even one step without him and my demon running at full speed to the next target.
So, just wanted to put this here as a notice to others about using him in large mob crowds. But on the bright side, I finished getting my
I found the Warrior you get from activating this trinket to be very helpful in soloing Kael'Thas Sunstrider in The Eye, he helped me kill the council, this made the entire fight a lot easier then it usually is for me (a rogue) give it a try!
This guy is amazing, it's like having your own pocket warrior. Just a heads up though, he has no out of combat regen, so if you don't have some way of healing him, don't expect him to last the full 10 minutes. He also scales with your level, he had about 443k when I used the trinket at level 87 and according to another comment he had 700k at what I'm assuming was 90.
Interesting fact, you can not have 2 of these. Not that you would ever need 2, but if you kill John-Dar again and its drops it again you can't pick it up.
Has anyone tried trinket versus Warbringers? Does he keep taunt?
As a melee Retribution Paladin, once again I cannot overstate how valuable
has become for me. Seriously, put everything else on hold and farm this guy. The only downside to my Paladin's own personal tank is, he loses focus easily in a group of mobs -- I have finally learned that everyone will vote to boot you if you go into a raid and just start hacking at anything and everything indiscriminately, but he hasn't. (Plus, the hour cooldown.) Otherwise he's become the single best thing a melee could have.
I switch him out with a pure strength trinket for when I'm not fighting bosses that need to be distracted, and when he's on cooldown.
It may take a few days to get him. While you're waiting for
to spawn, who drops him about 20% of the time, you can farm nearby Mushan for
, which is a reagent for
which gives a 300 strength buff for one hour --the strongest and best strength buff in the game for melee classes.
You can also keep healing him with your
to keep him alive the full ten minutes, so keep mana buffs in your bag!
Uses I've found for this guy so far:
Razorgore the Untaimed, the first boss in Blackwing Lair: He's great for picking up the adds during the egg phase. Pop him before you clear out the platform where the mind control orb is and he'll pick adds off the boss. Never had the boss drop below 50% health before destroying all the eggs.
Update: It seems the path you take with Razorgore matters.I try to MC him asap and clear out the eggs in the back of the room. When you drop control and recommand Razorgore, finish cleaning out the front of the room where the control orb is.
Archavon, Vault of Archavon: I was having problems soloing him on 25 man mode. He'd grab me and despawn a few seconds later. With the warrior out, he'll draw Archavon's attention and allow you to break free and continue the fight.
Bosses he WON'T work for:
Vesperon in Obsidian Sanctum: Tried popping the trinket so I could enter the portals the dragon opens up, but as soon as you enter the boss despawns. You just have to burn him down as quick as you can.
Patchwork in Naxx: Even with 700k hit points, Patchwork still hits like a tank and will make pottery shards of the warrior before you can burst him down.
Twin Emperors in AQ40: I tried using him to keep the magic immune boss busy while I burned down the physical immune boss down, but he seemed unable to keep aggro on the boss as he would always head over to where I was fighting the phys immune boss.
List will be updated as I play more with the trinket.
I dont know about anyone else, but ive been farming and killed this joker 17 times spanning 2 days thus far and have gotten the same loot 7 of the 17 times and no fragment. Wowhead states it roughly 15% drop, highest drop rate of all the loot (excluding bag of goods) Def need this trink for Razorgore and finish up my bloodfang farming. I do believe theyve got it backwards. Ill input the final tally if it ever drops...see where that 15% stands.(##RESPBREAK##)520##DELIM##Onyx1831##DELIM##
Here reporting that the terracotta fragment did not hold aggro for me against Razorgore. It was no different doing it with or without the terracotta warrior out.
solo scenario for your Legendary Cloak quest proving difficult?
Then use this trinket together with any (or all) of the
varieties that drop from Spectral mobs in
(They will provide a Spectral Fighter for 10 minutes, and you can use the 3 different types
at the same time
Using these, taking down Wrathion becomes a piece of cake.
Buggy - sometimes survives flying mount or portal use, often doesn't. So if you are close to next destination, use ground mount or you risk losing him.
I can imagine this with gladiator warrior and they would never die in warlords with the right gear while dishing out a lot of damage.
This guy peaks at level 90, has around 12k health, deals a moderate amount of damage for a guardian. I think after using him a few times already, i'd rather have an imp out than use 3 of him(which isn't possible) lol.
