All what I have found about this item so far are two comments,very different, but each one adding something to "solve" the mistery about this item.

The first "clue" comes from a wowdb.com user, Aliok. I'll report his findings

"This item was looted by a player who was in the middle of looting mob corpses when his/her server crashed. According to an old database listing, the original use was (generally) "summon a brown horse or release it."

(The actual text is in German. "Benutzen: Beschwört ein reitbares braunes Pferd oder gibt es wieder frei." I'm certain there is context that all the software translations I tried left out.)

In my opinion, this was likely a datamined item that wasn't nor intended to ever be available in the game. The item ID is very low and a lot of developer spells, items, etc. are found in very old data. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a leftover from vanilla beta."

The second "clue" come from a post on us wow forums. This is what somebody said about how he obtained this item (link to the post)

"So I recently got platinum in an invasion, but when I opened the loot it bugged and the postmaster sent me this item. It may have to do with me leaving my garrison at the exact moment I opened the bag.

Support didn't have an answer, and told me to post this here."

Although I can't be sure if those informations are 100% sure, that's the best I've found about it.

Interesting enough, not even customer support knows that much about this item.
Its buyout price is well deserved for a collector, I would say.

Just got one from mail after leaving the garrison and opening boxes at the same time. Dont know what to do with it!
