This is a decent trinket for starting healers to spend their VP on, or healers that find their regen lacking from having lots of pieces without spirit (holy paladins in particular seem to run into this scenario, especially if they're using gear from the new 5-mans, not to mention the lack of non-tier spirit cloth drops for priests in FL and now DS).

It has almost the same amount of static regen as the Jar of Ancient Remedies (which is 515 spirit when fully stacked), which was/is arguably the best trinket in the game for pure regen purposes, but its use effect is focused on throughput, rather than the Jar's use which was simply more regen. The relatively short 90 second CD on the use effect makes it all the better.

It's probably not the best choice for healers in FL gear, but if you sat out T11/T12 or have just dinged 85, it's hard to find good pre-raid trinkets, especially ones geared toward regen. Your only other real non-raiding options are the 359 Core of Ripeness (JP trinket with Int and spirit use), the 359 crafted Darkmoon Card: Tsunami (Intellect with stacking spirit proc), the 359 Tyrande's Favorite Doll from archeology (Intellect with regen proc) the 378 Foul Gift of the Demon Lord from Mannoroth in WoE (intellect and a mastery proc), the 365 Moonwell Chalice from FL dailies (which, much like FGotDL, is an Intellect/mastery use trinket), and the Petrified Pickled Egg (Int and haste proc) if you were around for Hallow's End this year (which not everybody was). Out of these trinkets, only the Core of Ripeness, the Doll and Tsunami are geared towards helping with regen at all; the rest are mostly throughput trinkets. However, Tsunami still usually costs close to 10k or more on the AH, and trying to get the Doll may cost you your sanity (look up archeology videos on Youtube if you don't believe me).

Combine all of that with the fact that the new instances and JP offer 378 gear for nearly every other slot, and this may be a good use of your VP if you find yourself having mana problems.

I have heart of unliving raid finder on 2 alts the first week, any raid finder trinket is better and they are not really hard to get

Yeah, this thing really is crap...the Avengers of Hyjal spirit trinket is much better seeing as it provides intellect instead of SP, and has a longer duration with the same CD.

Comparing this to the Darkmoon Tsunami trinket....

Darkmoon Card Tsunami is a trinket with 321 intellect and 400 spirit on it, would it be better than this?

(if one 'preheats' the Darkmoon Card by firing off a few heals before the fight starts, the +400 spirit is present for the entire duration of that fight, assuming one doesn't stop healing for a period greater than 20 seconds).

Darkmoon Card Tsunami gives 368 MP5 (regen from 400 spirit +321 intellect).

Reflection of the Light has 458 spirit and gives about the same amount of MP5, possibly slightly less!

Darkmoon Card Tsunami gives 321 intellect (larger mana pool, + spell power, + regen, + crit).

Reflection of the Light gives 2290 spell power for 15 seconds, with a 90 second cooldown.

It's clear that for situational use Reflection of the Light wins out on sheer healing throughput, assuming there is an opportunity to harness the full benefit of that enormous spell power boost. But, you are facing the majority of the fight down on 321 intellect if you use this trinket instead of Tsunami.

The buff you get from activating this trinket is called Ultimate Power for those wishing to use it in Power Auras or such like.

I can't speak for other groups, but I've found that the CD on this trinket lines up rather nicely with our groups black phases on Heroic Yor'sajh with a 7-bounce strategy. I left the spirit as-is and swap out 不死者之心, leaving a high-intellect trink in the other spot and it works out fairly well. Very situational if you have Heart, but if you have valor to burn not a bad pickup. I should add that H. Yor is the only fight that I've found a use for this puppy on though XD
