The wording, although very misleading, seems to convey that 6200 would be the total amount stored. This does seem pretty low for Cata, especially considering the 2 minute cooldown. On the other hand, a
LOH every 2 minutes seems extremely generous. Seems like it would have to be 6200 total with that thinking, no?
As a Warrior having
2/2, the heal would still only be 7440. I'll wait for some PTR testing before passing judgement, but as it stands, it looks like this is not going to be very good trinket. situational at best. and
is being generous.
If it stores up to 6200 per heal, this is a beautiful tanking trinket. If it stores merely 6200 total, this falls below some of the level 359 trinkets that are already out. I suspect it stores up to 6200 per heal.
Seems like it should be on a one minute cool down. hopefully it can crit too.
This is a long shot, but Shadow Priest +
= win? For Arena obv..
Buffed up to 17k... Saddly that doesn't make it reach up to the realm of the useable trinkets in my book.
I think a 17k heal would be great if they lowered the CD to 1 minute as well.
The biggest hitch with this trinket is that it requires outside expenditure of a limited resource. That being healer mana. If your healers are extremely on point and do very little over healing this trinket becomes increasingly lackluster.
While you are correct, this is very unlikely. 17k heals per minute is barely 300 HPS, and death knight/warrior tanks at least can generate this purely through self healing. If not, there's also random raid heals, healing stream totem, etc. which can contribute. Also, it's often in the healer's interest to try and keep you near or at full health, due to damage spikes in unlucky streaks of unavoided hits, and with critical heals gaining a 100% bonus instead of 50% in 4.2, it's easy to keep this up. I wonder however, if you overheal with this trinket itself, does it re-grant you the amount you overhealed?
Death Knights are going to love this item because;
Overheal produced by
will be stored by this tiem.
On-use effect is affected by any ability that increases your healing taken.
Since on use effect have 1 minute cooldown you can combine it with the
to heal yourself for 21368 HP if you're not glyphed or 23933 HP if you're glyphed your
On use healing effect has a chance to be a critical heal.
It has friggin +575 Stamina!
Edit: A small typo.
2nd Edit: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
You guys are forgetting a vital part about this trinket, and that is that it is BoE meaning you can just buy it or farm it from Trash runs
I got this on my pally tank in trash today, very useful.. I have to say that if you use it while youre running away from healers for specific fights it works like a charm.. 17k heal EVERY time and it occurs every 1 minute so you really take a lot off of your healers between this and Word of Glory for all you Pallys out there
My Pally - Elos - Malygos
Just got this trinket and it is modified by VB for dk's making the heal with vb up 23933.
Vampiric blood WILL work to up the healing from this trinket
The Scales of Life and Vial of Stolen Memories don't share a cooldown, I have both trinkets on my pally
The heal is static like Lay on Hands. It is not affected by spell power.
It can crit. It dropped for me on my guild's second Firelands attempt this first week. My first use in combat crit me for 34190.
EDIT: I'm not sure when it changed, but it seems to be affected by spellpower. I'm getting normal heals in the 19k range with a full 17095 saved.
I'm thinking to try this on my resto druid for pvp, the heal on a 1min cd is better than the battlemasters trinket IMO, and the 8k hp increase isn't nothing too.
Can the heal be used while stuned? can someone check please, I would very much appreciate it.
Just got this trinket for my pally and I was surprised how often the buff was (fully) active in a raid setting. Not very good for solo play (who's gonna overheal you?), but in groups, especially raids, expect to have the full heal available every cooldown. Who woulda thought a boe raid trinket would be good for raids...
Also, because I was wondering this myself, the buff accumulates as you are overhealed, up to 17095. I read a few comments claiming the full buff appeared after 1 pt of overheal -- the buff does appear, but only for a 1-point heal in this case :)
edit: blood DKs, of course, would be the exception for making use of this trinket in solo play, since self-overhealing is constant.
I don't recommend this trinket, at least for warriors.
After receiving this trinket from one of the smaller turtles inside Firelands, I jumped into a BoT run to test it out. Here's my experience.
---Enraged Regeneration does NOT give you the overhealing to fill it (May be changed in future patch)
---Interestingly, it heals for around the same amount of health as a talented Vicotory Rush on enemies below 20%, glyphed.
---The amount of time you can actually use the proc on this trinket "can" be VERY limited
---Its a slightly annoying trinket, because you have to allocate attention to the trinket's "ready" buff icon, if its not there, you aren't getting healed. So if you aren't tracking the buff icon and you try to use your trinket, there's no guarantee you'll be healed.
While doing BoT, I noticed that on very few occasions I made use of the trinket. On easy going phases of each ecounter, sure I would get some overhealing and be able to use it. However in rough phases, especially when health bars across your raid start dropping, overhealing is severly reduced. Thus in rough phases and usually near the last half of encounters, the overall usability of the proc on this trinket is reduced. Not to mention progression runs in Firelands, I mean if you think about it, how often do you see overhealing? I really can't count how many times I clicked the trinket in a below 50% hp moment in desperation for health and shot blanks. It's a crappy feeling when you need to use this trinket and you can't because there's no healing stored.
This isn't a TERRIBLE trinket, it's packed with passive stamina, and offers some situational-based self-healing. But off my experience with it, tread lightly. Try it out for yourselves and see how you fair with it.
I personally plan to replace it with the Stamina/Dodge proc trinket from firelands dailies. It may require you to sit in one place, but at least when you click the trinket, you're guaranteed some dodge.
I just bought this for 30,000g on my
as I figured it might be useful for soloing old raids and such.
My first thought was that in Marksmanship, it would work with the healing on Chimera Shot and Spirit Bond. This is false, as it does not work - at all. At this point I was pretty pissed that I was now broke with a useless trinket.
I then went Beast Mastery with a spirit beast, since I figured the "Spirit Mend" heal would work. It did actually work, however it requires me to be healed at full health to benefit, and since the buff lasts 20 seconds, and Spirit Mend's CD is at 28 second, I figured it wouldn't help. However, Spirit Mend lasts 10 seconds, meaning I have a 2 second window to refresh the buff, which works wonders.
The buff stopped at 17095 health, and because of Spirit Bond, healed me for about 18800.
Therefore I am willing to say that it DOES work for soloing if you are BM with a Spirit Beast pet, but it's so situational, that you are kinda forced to pressing Spirit Mend on cooldown, even at full Health.
tldr: Don't buy as an hunter for solo purposes. Don't buy it at all..
Small edit; The extra health does make your spirit bond and Chimera Shot heal for more, though. But still, probably not worth it.
My goal was to get the most efficient use out of my new Scales of Life trinket by using Power Auras to track a couple of things:
1 - Is the trinket off it's 1 minute CD?
2 - Is the trinket buff fully stacked (17,095 healing)?
If both conditions are true, show me an aura letting me know I can use the trinket at will.
Quick video on how I set it up:
For those who don't know, the
that allows you to use the heal lasts 20 seconds from your last overheal. That means every successive overheal will reset that back to 20s.
Be aware if you haven't been overhealed in over 20s you can still "use" it and you start the 1-min CD without actually getting any health back.
Personally I've found that almost every time in a boss fight when I actually need the heal it has been over 20 seconds since my last overheal and I can't use it.
This trinket is interesting. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and have been playing with it. The heal crits a lot. I'm not sure if that's just me, but it often heals me for around 39k, rather than for 17k. This is pretty nice, especially used in conjunction with Word of Glory.
Still, it's difficult for me to use it while raiding. I'm using Stay of Execution in one slot at the moment because it's really fantastic, so I'm sticking with it in one slot for most fights. In the other, I'm still using the Mirror of Broken Images. I pop this baby on for Zul's, but otherwise, I just haven't found a fight in the Firelands that I don't want a huge fire resist boost or 20% damage shield on.
i am going to call this worthless. I paid 400G for mine and if i only have 20 seconds to use it after my last overheal what is the point. i am healed already or off to the side healing.
And with 500k health the 36k isnt that much.
I thought it would be like a healing pot that you filled and got to use it when you needed it. From reading above it looks like you can heal with a spell then IF this gets some fill to it you have 20 sec to use it too.
I was doing it the " thinking it was full" and didnt notice any health gain after clicking it. I would be nice if it said how much health was in it.
Not worth taking up a trinket spot for me.
I am going to lose some health and heal a bit to see if this thing works at all .
