It's so fluffy!
This has to be the cutest thing I have ever seen.

It's absolutely adorable!
Sort of makes you want to poke its eyes lol.
Just like pandaren monk with /bow, emote /dance and he will disco away.
So their actions are
-trying to fly
-dance when /dance
-after awhile, it casts a spell then a flower appears!
plants a flower
Features of the pet (from what I've seen so far):
- When idle he'll jump up and flap his wings.
- When idle he'll sometimes make a flower appear.
- When you do /dance while targeting him, he'll also dance.
- Makes a cute noise when you click him.
- As of 4.0.6 they can now fly! If you're using a flying mount.
(If there's any I've missed, reply to this and I'll add it.)
50% of the proceeds from this pet went to the Make-A-Wish foundation from November 29th to December 31st, 2010. A good reason to get this for those folks on the fence about it.
When you recieve it in the mail, the mail says this:
Subject: Moonkin Hatchling
<A large, wiggling egg sits in a straw-packed crate pierced with air holes. Who sent this?>
This lil fellah doesn't like when you mount on the Mechano-Hog!
RIP Chris Farley.
So cute */hug*
As of 4.0.6, the Moonkin will flap his wings and fly with you. :)
I just got one in the MoP beta, I'm guessing its a beta only pet because its in the pet store, can anyone confirm?
beta awards random mounts and mini pets
Certainly the result of a moonkin and a gnome wohooing! :)
I got one of these pets on my Mist of Pandaria Beta account. I did not get one on my regular account.
The Moonkin Hatchling is sent to your character by "Lunaclaw".
For those interested in trivia, Lunaclaw was the Moonkin that Night Elf and Tauren Druid's once had to fight as part of their Bear Form class quest, called "Body and Heart." Back in the day, it was Lunaclaw who taught Druid's Bear Form, by instilling the strength of his body and his heart into the young druid and bolstering their resolve.
On land west of Taurajo in the Barrens - just before it turns into Mulgore - lies a Moonkin Stone. The moonkin are special beasts, not native to these parts. Lunaclaw, the stone's defender, will face you when Cenarion Lunardust is applied to it. Lunaclaw possesses within it a strength that you must use as one of the Claw. You've earned the right to use this Cenarion Lunardust, <name>... now show me that you've earned the right to possess the strength of body and the strength of heart needed as a druid!
Sometimes i just sit for a few hours watchhing this lil guy dance. Is that strange?
Level 25 battle pet stats:
She may not be the strongest little pet, but I enjoy having her on my team because she's a mini-me.
Just as a heads up to anyone that wants this pet, now is the time to get it.

Don't forget to make a character of the opposite faction when you buy this. You get both the horde and alliance moonkin versions, but only if you claim them from both factions.
Both this pet and it's Alliance counterpart (
) have faction restrictions in place which will limit a player's usage depending the faction you are currently logged in as. I just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why my blood elf could not summon and use the grey moonkin before I realized what was happening.
The Moonkin Hatchling is a good addition to your vanity team, "Rare" by default (as any acquisition from the Blizz store). This mini Druid has the charisma and the ability to keep your team well balanced, the only problem is that, if you have a faction preference, it wouldn't worth so much to train because if you train the Moonkin Hatchling "Black" (for Alliance) , you can not use it in combat when you play with your alt on the Horde side, which activates the Moonkin Hatchling "Brown" for that faction (Horde) .
Copied from my Moonking Hatchling (Alliance) comment
Night Elf ears always show in their animal forms
Tauren horns always show in their animal forms.
Does this mean the Moonkin Hatchlings are just child Tauren and Night Elf Druids?
IT'S BACK IN SHOP!
mount looks great, I'm far more interested in the
mount from the BlizzCon 2019 Giveaway.
Having said that, I would't turn down one of the toys
, or any of the pets such as
(depending on faction).
Must confess that a couple of the items aren't that appealing to me, e.g.
