An absolute dream come true for Enhancement shammys.
The 2.80 speed and monster top end DMG is perfect for stormstriking, Ofcourse, that paired with Mastery, and hit which is always needed.
You get the same amount of Attack power from the Strength on this thing, but you will lose about 1% crit over a Agility main hand, effecting flurry uptime, but not significently enough to count this out as a excellent weapon.
I would, and am personally using this over an agility main hand, and hit like a bloody truck atm.

Actually, this could easily be considered a BiS pre-raid weapon for a Paladin tank, given the preference of Mastery over other avoidance stats and a need to reach the hit cap.

Extremely good for both prot tanking specs. Mastery is the stat to stack for tanks at the start of this expansion (at least until the unhittable 102.4% is reached), and of the four strength one-handers with Mastery this one holds the distinction of having an unusual 2.8 swing speed. Most likely 2nd BiS for pre-raid assuming you're not an Orc, in which case you'll want the Axe of the Eclipse as 2nd BiS. Elementium Fang with Mastery and Parry is probably BiS pre-raid, as threat is quite easy at the moment.
评论来自
intuit
Maybe you didn't notice that it's 2.8 speed. Mastery is also just as useful, if not more useful than parry/dodge for warrior and paladins (esp paladins at this point, i'd think). Only reason anyone would take the fang over this is because this has hit. I don't see the small amount of hit as such a negative, esp after reforging part of it.
Both weapons have their strengths. I had both early on in cata, but I can tell you I got MUCH more use out of the rolling pin!

It's too slow for Warrior tanking.
I vendor'd mine because I started having problems with rage generation (especially on caster bosses) which resulted in a overall
decrease
in DPS.
To add insult to injury:
- Won't sheathe on your belt
- Ugly as sin
- Enchants won't be visible.
It's probably great for SMG fury though and roleplaying with your chef's hat though.

2.8 vs 2.6 is not going to be a noticeable loss in rage for warrior tanks. The higher top-end damage will be quite noticeable though. If you are low on rage it is probably because you use your rage dump too often (heroic strike).

As of Cataclysm shamans get 2 AP from agility and only 1 from strength, but the speed more than makes up for the loss of AP

Previous comment was downvoted by a few paladins trying to defend their poor claims, posting this so its still visible to those that want proper information.
Cookie's Tenderizer - 86mastery + 34.4dodge = 120.4 tank stats
Elementium Fang - 86mastery + 86 parry = 172 tank stats
Why do you want to give up 51.6 parry for 0.2 speed.... threat is not even a minor concern with the tps tanks are putting out so hit rating/expertise is completely useless. You should be gearing for max survival like all the smart/top guild tanks are doing.
Cookie's Tenderizer is bis pre raid for both SMF and Frost DK's due to both benefiting hugely from the 2.8 speed. I hope none of you take it over a dps and use a few mis-informed comments on wowhead to validate it.

This is the best pre-raid weapon for Frost DW DKs and SMF Fury Warriors. It's long swing time means more damage, and its +hit makes it very attractive to Fury Warriors who want to be hard DW hit capped. Below is the compassion between this and a slightly faster 346 One-hander,
Smite's Reaver
.
Cookie's Tenderizer
:
802-1491--base damage range
818.93--base average damage
2,516.29-3,205.29--damage range with 10,000 AP added
2,860.79--average damage with 10,000 AP added
3,544.86-4,233.86--damage range with 16,000 AP added
3,889.36--average damage with 16,000 AP added
Smite's Reaver
:
745-1,385--base damage range
819.23--base average damage
2,459.29-3,099.29--damage range with 10,000 AP added
2,779.29--average damage with 10,000 AP added
3,487.86-4,127.86--damage range with 16,000 AP added
3,807.86--average damage with 16,000 AP added
Using
Cookie's Tenderizer
over
Smite's Reaver
yields a damage increase of 2.93% with 10,000 AP or 2.14% with 16,000 AP. In lev 346 gear, having about 10,000 AP self-buffed is about average, while with trinkets proccing and weapon chants proccing, you can easily reach 16,000 AP if not more, hence the values used.
Notees:
--with normalization, 10,000 AP translates into +1,714.29 damage (AP/14x2.4) and 16,000 translates into 2,742.86

Given that threat is not a concern for tanks at the moment, strength weapons with mastery and one threat stat are beaten out by agility weapons with mastery and one threat stat. So this is not 2nd BiS, but rather 6th, after
Elementium Fang (naturally),
Elementium Gutslicer (agi, hit, mastery),
Ravening Slicer and Thief's Blade (agi, haste, mastery),
and the Axe of the Eclipse (strength, but 98 mastery compared to Cookie's 86).

As of the latest patch (4.0.6?), this no longer looks like a rolling pin in game. Instead, it looks like a more menacing club with spikes coming out of it.
It does, however, still show up as a rolling pin on the armory, but I assume that'll change soon.

While the slower speed of this weapon does theoretically increase the burst damage of abilities like lava lash and stormstrike, I have found that it is not in fact superior to other 346 agility weapons for enhancement.
I actually ran a very simple experiment to verify this. I was actually hoping that the slow offhand would give me a nice boost... I liked the idea of thwakking people with a rolling pin.
I simulated a raid boss dps situation by sustaining a dps rotation on an 85-tuned target dummy. With one setup, I used the Windslicer, a reasonable (but not necessarily optimal) agility 346 weapon. With the other, I equipped Cookie's Tenderizer. I performed a little reforging on my gear to ensure that in each setup, I was at the expertise cap and barely over the hit cap.
Statwise, the difference between each arrangement was really no more than 20 mastery/crit total, ratings wise. However, with the Cookie setup I had 129 more strength, with 129 more agility for the Windslicer setup.
Each weapon received several minutes of dps on the dummy. Each session included a Bloodlust and several Feral Spirit casts.
Long story short:
My Windslicer setup did an average 1-2k more DPS than Cookie's Tenderizer.
Dropping an 129 agility weapon for a 129 strength weapon is not worth it, despite the 2.8 speed.
Edit: Please stop downrating this post! I know it disagrees with the simulation programs, but I did the research in-game, using the recommended caps and rotation for enhancement, and I really am getting these results. Please stop downrating original research.

I'm not sure why you've come to the conclusion that Agility weapons are better than Strength ones. While it is true that even prot tanks get a tiny sliver of Dodge from Agility, they also get Parry from Strength - not up to the same conversion as DKs, obviously, but it's there. I don't know the exact conversion between strength/parry and agility/dodge, but at some point extra threat stats will prevent more damage on average than the tiny avoidance blip an agility weapon might provide purely by making things die a little quicker!
All of this is rendered moot by the Elementium Fang anyway. :)
Edit: Aha! We actually do get the same conversion from Strength to Parry as DKs now. So yeah, strength all the way, and this remains 2nd best in slot pre-raid heroic drop.

Considering that no other Deadmines weapon (or SFK, that I could see) changed in model, including this one's non-heroic version, it's somewhat safe to assume that they're NOT going to keep this model, and they're gonna revert/fix it back to its old version.
评论来自
Falrinn
I highly doubt this is a bug. More then likely they decided that such a good heroic weapon shouldn't have what is essentially a joke model.
Anyways, the new model is actually fairly unique, it's only shared with
one other weapon
in the entire game. Hardly generic.

Hard to say. As someone mentioned earlier, you couldn't see enchants on the original model, for whatever reason. Perhaps they changed it due to complaints on that, rather than fix the original model?

Since patch 4.2, agility no longer gives dodge to DKs, paladins or warriors, and this post should be ignored.
Context: This was in response to a thread the initial post of which appears to have been deleted, which claimed that this weapon was second BiS for shield tanks pre-raid. I pointed out a number of Agility pieces as well as the Axe of the Eclipse, and the OP claimed that strength weapons had more avoidance than agility because of the new strength to parry conversion. This was my rebuttal.
For warriors (and death knights), 1 agility = .4 dodge rating.
For paladins, 1 agility = .6 dodge rating.
For warriors and paladins (and death knights), 1 strength = .25 parry rating.
Agility provides more avoidance per point than strength does, so therefore, given two otherwise identical pieces of gear, if threat is meaningless and assuming your gear isn't already woefully unbalanced towards dodge, agility gear is better than strength gear for tanking.
Based on dodge rating/1% dodge and agility/1% dodge numbers taken from
Elitist Jerks
.
Comparing Cookie's Tenderizer to the Elementium Gutslicer:
Elementium Gutslicer
129 Agility ~= 51 dodge rating (warrior), 77 dodge rating (paladin)
86 hit rating -> 34 parry rating (reforging)
86 mastery rating
vs
129 Strength = 32 parry rating
86 hit rating -> 34 dodge rating (reforging)
86 mastery rating
Elementium Gutslicer wins with 2 parry rating, and 19-45 dodge rating more than Cookie's Tenderizer.
Obviously since Elementium Fang has not 1 but 2 tanking secondary stats, it's worth more than agi/mastery weapons; but comparing an agi/mastery/junk stat piece to a str/mastery/junk stat piece, the agi piece will outperform the str piece in survivability unless the str piece has significantly more mastery.
Thus, Elementium Gutslicer, Ravening Slicer, and Thief's Blade all outperform Cookie's Tenderizer for survivability, as they have the same amount of mastery, but substitute agility for strength.
评论来自
intuit
The elementium fang is better for pure survival. No one's disputing that, lol. But the gain in survival is absolutely trivial compared to a decent gain in dps/tps. Lots of tanks love to talk about how threat and dps is an absolute non-issue (these are, almost always, tanks who are more casual or doing low-end content), but it's definitely not completely useless. There are still threat-sensitive situations out there (mainly initial pickups), and because of this there are plenty of tanks out there who will judge a BiS item by overall usefulness (survivability and threat), ESP when talking about a weapon.
The avoidance gain is extremely tiny, yet the threat/dmg boost is noticable.
btw, I'm not a paladin. I play a warrior who's tanked bleeding-edge content for years now, and I almost always take a pretty significant boost to threat/dmg on a weapon over an extremely tiny boost to avoidance. Only exceptions are insanely hard-hitting bosses, which are usually only found in much higher-end content than you'd be tanking in blue 5man gear (and we might not see much of these anymore anyway, since insane tank damage isn't what blizz wants). I farmed both of these weapons and kept them both until I got my first epic tank weapon. Tanks should always keep more than 1 item to use in different situations.

I agree. What is the point of taking one of the best ideas EVER for a weapon and turning it into just another mace? I mean it was a rolling pin! A very leet rolling pin that was never in the game and now it is like any other mace. Blizzard should of left it the way it was!
Also I do not care if there is only one other mace like this in the game... that is the whole problem! It is a use model from Wrath of the Lich King! There was not another version of the rolling pin in the game! (Well except the normal version)

http://blue.mmo-champion.com/topic/158382/item-cookies-tenderizer

Cookie’s Tenderizer is a rather unique item indeed... Currently it is considered a pre-raiding best-in-slot item and therefore we feel it important that it can be sheathed and that any enchants on it are shown, which is something that currently isn't possible with the rolling pin model. It would take quite a bit of work to make the rolling pin work properly, so although the model for the heroic version has been changed, one should never dismiss the possibility that we may see the rolling pin model return.

Cookie's Tenderizer is the same model as Totemic Purification Rod, which I can buy from the Kalu'ak QM, having grinded my way to exalted with them. BUT Totemic Purification Rod is main-hand, so I can't use it as a transmog model for a one hand item. Obviously that's a sham, if Cookie's Tenderizer and Totemic Purification rod are the same model. I don't particularly feel like grinding Deadmines just for a transmog model.
