Do flasks from Cauldrons count towards Better Leveling through Chemistry?
I would like to know if the Cauldrons (with combination of the guild perk enhancements to it) are affected by Mixology, ie. duration and effect strength.
Has any elixir master proc'd making this? Is proc'ing to make a 'cauldron' possible (which I assume an elixir master would be required)?
Does the "seven uses" mentioned in the text mean that you can drop one cauldron seven times, or that only seven raid members can benefit from one cauldron?
Total mats for one cauldron (without procs):

Did plant my first one today. Mixology affects .. have a two hour buff.
These are BoP. Anyone else think this is a stupid idea?
In my Guild we run some 25 mans and 10 mans all depending who we have online. Say you get someone who is an Alchemist to make these in your guild and that person cannot make it to a raid for whatever reason or like a lot of people in my guild use Alchemy on an alt and use 'raiding' proffesions on their mains. You can't use these unless you get that person's alt to relog every few hours.
I propose these should be BoP to your guild. Only people of Guardian/Veteran can put them down. BoP towards the person who made them is just a stupid idea and really needs to be changed.
A slap in the face to alchemists who have to make these and place them, and get their profession bonus destroyed by them since there is no more longer duration from Mixology.
What buff do feral druids get from this cauldron? Stamina or Agility?
It says it bases the buff on talents, but feral druids can be either. Is it smart enough to know the difference or does it just give agility/stamina regardless?
No guessing or assumptions please.
Can anyone tell me if the cauldron gives a spirit buff?
I really dont get the point of this if its Bind on Pickup. We just got access to this cauldron and I was really disappinted to see that it required alchemists to be in your raid to use it. Really Really disappointed and it needs to be changed asap.
So I did some testing today with the Cauldron and Alchemist Increased effect/durations
Both Effect and Duration work fine for me, was gaining 399int when using the
from the Cauldron, this was done unbuffed.
yes I realise I'm getting more Int then I would expect but i have no idea why considering I did this was unbuffed,
so therefore the flasks are now useful to alchemist as they are getting the "Increased Effect" must have been hotfixed at some point
I read all the comments above and couldnt find out if we need to be alchemist to lay thse down, Id like to know if I can use this on my other toon which is not an Alchemist...
So how often can these be placed in a raid? I see it says lasts 5 minutes, but how often is it usable?
I can confirmed that if you are Elixir specced and create the cauldron, group members will receive a two hour duration on their conjured flasks. I don't know if this is because I am an Elixir Master, but the comments so far have been confusing as to what this flask gives you, so I thought I would contribute.
Feral Tank = Stam
Currently bugging out. Dropped 7 of these in the raid last night, 20 people grabbed 1, drank it, then grabbed another, 5 people got no flasks. We can only surmise that spam clicking cauldrons chews up uses but gives no flasks. Be careful for your ADD guildies who feel necessary to spam click things to get them first.
Does anyone know if this cauldron can be used by people who aren't in your guild?
MACRO: FLASK OF BATTLE
If you have a macro you always use (aka "spam") in combat, you can add the following to it and would help maximize your flask's duration:
/use Flask of Battle
This macro only works for the conjured Flask of Battle from cauldrons.
- You'll not forget to pop your flask (as long as you remember to loot it)
- You'll only pop your flask when combat begins (helps maximize your flask's duration)
- You'll pop a new flask immediately after the old expires, if you're in combat (typically the raid would drop a new cauldron just before your current flask expires. Flask of Battle does not overwrite any existing flasks, hence if your flask expires during combat, it would pop it when you use your macro)
- You'll not be able loot a second flask from cauldrons if you already have one in your bags since it is unique (helps with the "... did someone take an extra flask?" problem)
If you do not have a macro you spam during combat, you can create a macro with the spell you use all the time and add the above macro, for example:
/use Flask of Battle
and move the macro onto your actionbar.
If everyone in the raid uses this macro, everyone's flask would last a little longer and would also all end at the same time.
I just want to clarify this since there seemed to have been a lot of confusion involving it. I tested one today and
the duration of these flasks are altered by mixology.
The reason being for this(I assume) is that when you consume a flask of battle, it gives you the appropriate flask buff(In this case, draconic mind for me). So it's as if I'm actually consuming a flask of draconic mind,
except that it lasts 3 hours instead of 2.
And because I made the cauldron as an elixir master, people did not get 2 hour flasks(as a previous comment stated), they got 1.5 hour flasks, however, even though an alch cannot make the cauldron as long as they can make their appropriate flask they will receive the added bonus duration and stat.
This is all assuming you only have chug-a-lug rank 1.
For Mixology these last 3 hours instead of 1.5
People without Mixology(Or people that cannot make their appropriate flask(int, str, stam, etc) will receive 1.5 hour duration
When consuming they give you the exact buff as if you were using your appropriate flask
Hope this helps clear up some confusion involving Cauldrons and Alchemists, I can only assume this will stay the same for the next rank of chug-a-lug.
Materials for the
The effect the flask gives depends on when you use it and what talents you have selected at that moment, as well as your form if you are a druid. The only problem with these cauldrons are if you really prefer a stat that is not primary for you but that you find to lack. In other words having flasks with yourself for your own use is the best way, unless you have a class that always get the same effect from the cauldrons, in that case you at least get the desired effect from the guild cauldron. :)
Comparison of Big Cauldrons to Regular Cauldrons:
Total mats for each:
(20 charges not 17):
3 Reg cauldrons: 96x
, 48x each herb, 24x
= 21 (30 from happy hour) total raid flasks.
1 Big cauldron: 96x
, 48x each herb. 20 (30 from happy hour) total raid flasks.
I completely misunderstood this item so I want to explain exactly what it does to others before they grind this out. You do
get normal flasks from the cauldron. You get a "flask of battle" that:
Is conjured, so it disappears
Cannot be sold
Disappears on logout
Is unique so you can only get one at a time
Does not count toward "Better Leveling Through Chemistry"
The cauldron itself is BOP, so you can't give it to your raiding alt. It only lasts a short while.
Basically, this will save you some gold but it's a pain to use if you don't have an alchemist that can make it in your raid. I suppose you can just bring your alt to set it down. It is
completely useless for making gold
, so don't waste your time grinding it out.
If you make a cauldron for your guild, and then either leave the guild or get kicked, does it disappear out of your bags? Or can you just not use it until you are friendly with another guild?
can anyone confirm or deny if it is possible for an elixir master to proc whilst making a cauldron of battle or big cauldron of battle pls. ive made 7 of the regular ones so far with no procs. yes i am an elixir master :)
As of patch 4.3, the cauldron is Bind on Account (and that's Battle.net account). So your alchemist alt can make them, and send them to your raiding alt for use.
so am i missing something or is there another req other than friendly rep with guild to buy the recipe? I cant buy the recipe and im friendly with guild
Item has 10 uses, not 7 as the Wowhead tag states.
Since Blizz removes the guild perk, this cauldron will give 10 flasks
