This is one of the new Heirloom Items introduced in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. The whereabouts of Heirloom Rings is currently
but most likely will be made available through random profession dailies luck. I feel safe enough saying this since our last Heirloom ring was available from Fishing.
The following Heirlooms are unlockable through the Guild system:
The following Heirlooms have been added during Cataclysm but whereabouts are unknown:

** As of Patch 4.0.3
And finally, for everyone interested in what pieces of gear you should put together for the Ultimate Leveling Set for that special new alt of yours, I present to you a list of classes and the items that suit them best.
**New in 4.1**
My apologies for some inaccurate information previously. This comment was made during the Cataclysm Beta and I just never got around to updating it. Prices have been fixed and it now looks sexier then ever.
Patch 4.1 Heirloom Update
All Heirloom items have had their bindings changed to bind to a single Battle.Net account instead of a World of Warcraft account. This change will let you transfer your items across factions, realms and even the other active World of Warcraft accounts on your Battle.Net Account.
Blizzard has also implemented Tanking Heirlooms with Patch 4.1. Please see above for their names! Links will not be live until the data is merged to the main Wowhead site.
What are they stained
, I wonder?
Wondering if the ZG helm/leg enchants will work on these. My guild isn't a high enough level to tell yet, but at least with leggings you could put on TBC leg enchants (I think) or leather armor kits.
On second thought the TBC enchants require that the item is at least ilevel 35... so maybe on the ZG helm/leg enchants would work on these? I'd at least hope they would with a level requirement for the enchant, similar to how the ZG ones work.
edit: Forgot that libram Arcanums may work too, if you still had any from DM (i.e. Arcanum of Rapidity, Constitution, etc.)
add this to the list new tank heirloom sword
The source isn't "Unknown". There is no source. There's only 1 ring heirloom and 0 leg heirlooms. Others such as this exist but aren't actually obtainable. They never made them obtainable with the launch of cata. They figured +50% exp is good enough.
That +50% btw is the max exp you can get without Recruit.(Looms+guild perk) This also hits 300% due to rested.(Rested affects the looms too. 150 x 2) As to Recruit, I can't say because I've never had it and thus can't test it. I suspect you'd be at 450%.(Recruit is 300 base +50% from looms) But rested would put that at 900%(450 x 2), which I'm sure Blizzard would never allow. So there's probably a cap somewhere between 400-500.
With the revamp of Darkmoon Faire in 4.3 to include heirlooms, I'd expect these pants will be acquired from there, perhaps for tickets or with reputation, along with all the other heirloom pants and rings that have yet to see introduction.
Well, neither the new heirloom pants or the rings are showing up at all on the PTR, so…?
Any ideas if these will actually come about at some point…?
Just opened a ticket about the pants will update asap
Beta Build 5.0.1 (15662):
are available from your Guild Vendor or Guild Page.
Heirloom legs will be available with the guild achievement
This doesnt make any sense since the screenshot is a pandaren wearing the pants but mop doesnt come out for two months and these pants were made in cata but right now they arent available
These pants are a bit plain but the perfect heirloom item for your monk or rogue.
As of patch 5.4, you can put high level enhancements on heirlooms. They scale (down, but not up) with character level.
You can apply enhancements that make an item soulbound (
) and armor kits that require level (
), but not armor kits that require item level.
Here is a list of some item enhancements that you might want to try out:
are somewhat expensive.
I hope the list is helpful :)
The post by starseeker is a little inaccurate.
These pants have an ilvl of 1. Tried today to add Heavy Armor kit and it said the item was too low. So any kits that require an item level of a certain amount will probably not work on these.
All legs now require the guild achievement
, as levels were removed.
With the new heirloom upgrade system introduced in patch 6.1 this item has been replaced by
