Browsing the spell list for Tailors I don't an "Embersilk Scavenging"
Will tailors get more drops of these?
评论来自
WuDu
I've got quite few scavenging cloths while leveling or doing dungeons, so I guess that scavenging is active after all but hidden.

After hitting 85 and questing out Twilight Highlands, there is a phase change where in the Twilight Gate (Between Victor's Point and Crushblow) NPCs fight Ogres. You can pick off the Ogres at your leisure from the NPCs, and they will even help kill the mobs. These mobs give a nice drop on Embersilk (Getting 2-3 every 5 or so ogres). They also drop higher level greens for Enchanting.

PRETTY MUCH ANY HUMANOID IN TOL BARAD! Drops of 2 cloth are most common, but ive seen even 4 drop off 1 mob. Highest drop rate I've seen so far!

Tol Barad is far the best place i have found to farm those, there are mobs fighting other mobs (just aoe those) and mobs with 38k hp. Got more than 2 stacks on 20 minutes
Edit: I spent my whole farm on Restless Front.

I tried Tolbarad, I find the npcs take to long to kill. The restless front was nice but if the daily for it is going on, then too much down time. So I went to Uldum and was a able to farm these guys,
永恒保护者
and
http://www.wowhead.com/npc=47220
. They have low hp and I just did a giant loop around the temple. I was able to farm about 2 stacks and 2 greens in about 20 mins. Hope this helps.

this seems to be only true if your faction currently controls tol barad.
This is demonstrably false in my experience. The drop rate appears to be higher all around TB than in other zones, but it's regardless of whether or not your faction controls it. Horde on my server is grossly outnumbered by Alliance and haven't held control of TB since Cataclysm launched, as of this writing, but I'm still racking up cloth during dailies. RNG is random.
A word for those of you who are also on a PvE server: we don't get flagged in Tol Barad unless there's a battle currently going on (the five minute rule is also in effect, though, of course).

At the Verlok Stand (roughly around) 73, 26 there are the Verlok Grubthumbers and Verlok Shroomtenders on a Pillar up in the air and down below. There are quite a bit of them and seem to spawn very quickly. Only problem is that they're close together and they'll likely come at you in a big group. In the northwest part of that little pillar, there's a group of 5 of them. If you can manage to pick 'em off slowly, it's pretty much a consistant flow of respawns (I wanna say they respawn in a minute, if not shorter). The embersilk drops 1-2 at a time, up to 45 silver per kill. I've had periods where I picked up 10 cloths in about 2 minutes, and also went about 5 minutes with only like 4-5 cloths. If you can handle the quick respawn and you can manage not to fall off, it seems like a fairly decent place to do farming without going further away. If you're daring and/or can do enough damage in a short period of time, you can take on the other side as well. On clothies, they do about 2500-3500 melee, with the occassional 7.5k Troglodyte Smash.
Hope this helps some people with their Embersilk woes.
Edit: Also, careful to aggro the Pillartumblers, as they do not drop any loot. The aggro range isn't that far apparently, and more often than not, they'll ignore you and jump. So Emo.

Currently the prices of Embersilk Cloth are through the roof on my server (and probably on many more servers) so I decided to go around and find the best places possible to farm for it. I managed to find 3 different places, one in Uldum and two in Twilight Highlands. Below are links to each of these places youtube videos that I uploaded, hopefully it helps someone out!

Make sure you are farming this with your Tailor. You have cloth scavenging skill which will greatly increase your drop rate for cloth rather than with a non-tailor.
I got 3 stacks of embersilk just killing some mobs in hyjal starting area.

I've had luck farming in the fractured front of Deepholm (23.97, 61.21). There are groups of troggs fighting npcs. They frequently don't aggro, even when you are attacking them, and the npc's help fight them when they do aggro. It takes about a minute to clear a group, and I have been averaging 4 cloth per group (high of 7, low of none) along with a lot of greens. The only thing you have to watch out for is the troggs riding the basilisks who will come up behind you and aggro, but if you stand out from where they path, there isn't a problem. I get a couple stacks in half an hour with no super aoe tactics, just single target firing to clear each group. Someone who is good at aoe could probably clear much faster.

Best place to farm is the Southwest Cell Block in Tol Barad.
I advise not going into it for the respawn rate of the mobs are fairly short and its easy to get over whelmed. Sat outside at the entrance killing the mages and workers and yielded fifty cloth in five minutes.

Details on farming Embersilk in Glopguts Hollow, Twilight Highlands:
I farmed in a circle around the hollow (38, 30) for approximately 1 hour. Ended up with the following:
27g
59 x Embersilk Cloth
11 x Ruined Embersilk Scraps
5 x Sparkling Oasis Water
6 x Roasted Beef
6 x iLevel 306-312 BoE greens
4 x (various vendor trash)
The mobs (Glopgut Hurlers and Pounders) have approximately 85k health and hit for 4-5k on cloth. (As a mostly blue-geared 85 lock, I never pulled more than two, as they take a bit of time to burn down and hit fairly hard.) Drop rate for cloth seems to be 1-3 pieces per 3-4 kills or slightly higher. It's a decent farm spot - there was no competition for mobs when I was there, and clearing end to end left plenty of time for respawns. I never had to stop killing.

Farmed groups of Stone Troggs in Uldum. Used a treasure pot and farmed while it was active (1 hour).
Results:
55g repair bill
4-5 greens to disenchant
2 JC hessonite designs
51 Bolts of Embersilk Cloth
200-250g (counting greys)
a few volatile elements.
Demo lock lvl 85, Rain of Fire + Felstorm (Felguard). When it wasn't on CD, I used Meta + Immolation Aura and jumped into the group and used Hellfire.
Notes:
Definitely not worth farming without the treasure potion. 60% of my Embersilk was from the tiny treasures.

because people will be killing those mobs for the dailies.
You will see the Restless Soldier and Infantry bash each other to 19k, I just rotate on the spot and kill as many as I can and loot. You need to damage both or one will go back to full health.
My rotation is
Vamp Touch -> Switch Target -> Mind Flay -> SW: Death (Dead) -> Switch target -> Mind Flay (Dead)

With all the stealthy hotfixes and drop rate nerfs, the fastest way of farming Embersilk Cloth is in Uldum. Go to the area around the Obelisk of the Moon and kill the humanoids there. Avoid the level 85 elite :)
The only requirement is that you must not have done any quests for that obelisk. Just circle the edge of the outer square of the obelisk killing everything and by the time you get back to the starting point everything has already respawned. If you are a caster try not to let them reach you while you are casting since they have interrupts (for example, i'm farming with my arcane mage lvl 84 without any problems). The mobs also throw some bombs at you that you cannot avoid (they do around 2500 damage, nothing to worry about).
In exactly 1 hour of farming, with the help of a Potion of treasure finding, i've gathered over 8 stacks of cloth as well as a lot of gold and few grays. If you can make the potions yourselves do so, if not buy the mats from the auction and ask a potion master to craft you some.
PS: just make sure you avoid doing too many quests in uldum so you don't get phased out of that area(this also helps A LOT since many others won't be able to see you so you can farm alone with ease).

Tailors rejoice, Blizzard has buffed the droprate (or amount?) of cloth for 400+ skill level tailors from 25% to 50% from mobs that are able to drop it!
No more buying of those 100g stacks of embersilk, get to Tol Barad and kill some mobs!

In my experience with exploring Cataclysm, I found several spots that are very very nice to farm embersilk cloth. However, some of them might be a bit tricky...
1) Best by FAR if you meet the requirements, in Uldum, under the Obelisk of the Moon is a chamber with many HALF-HEALTH elites that are fighting spirits. I'm not sure if you need a quest to see them there, but i know after you get one of those indian jones-styled quests to kill a number of them, they stop showing i think.
Pros:
They count as elites, and therefore can drop 6 clothes form just one enemy.
They are just like regular mobs, with better drops =)
For those interested in "Got my mind on my money" Achievement, this is perfect because since they are counted as elites, most of them will drop a gold or more for the kill
Lots of mobs around, bearly any other farmers because...
Cons:
Once you have completed the questline that asks you to kill like 10 or so of those elites, they will no longer be there.
2) Another place that has a good amount of super fast spawning humanoids is in Twilight Highlands, at Highbanks. However, you need to have the place under siege, and that means basically no questing near Highbanks...
Pros:
Since it is under siege, there are tons of fast spawning humanoids and they are easy to kill.
Regular embersilk cloth drop rate.
Not too many other farmers, occasionally 1 here and there.
Cons:
I believe mobs disappear after a quest there ( i didn't do it yet, i'm farming hahaha)
These are just from my own experiences, let me know what you think!

The place that I found works great is in the Twilight Highlands (coords 25, 39).
Must not have completed the Twilight Highlands yet for this to work:
There's a quest giver there that gives you the quest "If the Key Fits." Accept the quest, but don't talk to him and say that you are ready to move up the mountain. Instead, stay around the area and just start killing the mobs in the area (called Twilight Spearwarder). As long as you stay within the range of Highbank Lieutenant you will constantly be healed to full every few seconds.
As a mage I have found by going fire and collecting them all up in a circle and aoe'ing them down works best. It's like every other mob drops 3-4 cloth (as a tailor). Plus, there's no downtime since you are getting healed.

/run for i=1,GetNumTradeSkills() do x,_,y=GetTradeSkillInfo(i); if x =="Bolt of Embersilk Cloth" then CloseTradeSkill() DoTradeSkill(i,y) break end end
Side note: If you have a filter on your tailoring window such as "has skill up", the macro will only work if that spell gives you a skill up...

Schottz Infrantryman
, on the north side of Obelisk of the moon, packs of 9 + 1 elite, I could just about farm them as a demonology warlock, they are not linked to eachother so its possible to pull only part of a pack
As a demonology warlock, i could pull two packs, pop every cooldown demon form/immolation aura+felstorm, then cc 1 elite and kill the other, lots of cloth

I have been having pretty decent luck collecting cloth in the Twilight Highlands around 39, 63 at the Twilight gate. (after I completed the whole zone) All the gryphon riders from Victors point are in here attacking the Bloodeye Clan. Just pick them off 1 at a time.... or massive AOE if you have it. I picked up just over 90 cloth in 30 minutes.
Edit: The Crushblow Warriors from the Dragonmaw Clan are in the middle of this battle too, but I can't attack them, and they ignore me.

Just did 1 full hour of farming these mobs at beached Horde ship. Used Potion of Treasure Finding and came away with some 11 stacks all in all (they included the small treasure boxes found and opened).
Did the same place 2 weeks ago and came away with way more cloth than I got this time, so high chance that Blizzard has nerfed this place too.
So if you find a good place to farm cloth please do NOT post it here. Enough good farm spots and mobs has already been nerfed.

Farmed for 1 hour with the potion of treasure finding in Northern TB. In 3 diff spots, one being the Restless Front which I farmed for about 30 minutes. Got the usual 5 stacks of cloth, But ZERO chests. None what so ever. So They most likely have corrected the fact that the potion is not supposed to work in TB. Or I have Horrifyingly terrible luck getting them to drop.
And yes.... Please for the love of god. If you find an awesome spot! Keep it to yourself! Shut up! Do NOT post it here! Or Inc Nerf Nerf Nerf on that exact spot! I'm sure if someone wants to find a good spot, they will either find it themselves or a friend will tell them!
On another note, I've got an untagged spot that gives about 250+ cloth an hour + tons of greens and trash loot. So I guess I'll stick to that one before it gets nerfed too :'(
So keep looking! There are still spots out there that are good and havn't been nerfed yet!
P.S. I've discovered that I actually get more cloth if I have someone in the group with me killing stuff, obviously because it goes faster but 90% of the time I get 4-7 cloth off of their loot too. Did my spot by myself, got about 211 cloth, did that again with a friend and got about twice as much. So group up with a friend that wants to farm too! It will generate a lot more cloth then by yourself!

Ok, I did a few experiments today. For those that are calling areas "nerfed" make sure you're doing it on a tailor. It makes a big difference in cloth drops. I did 2 hours each on my tailor and non-tailor characters in Twilight Shore. Less that 40 an hour with a non-tailor, but almost 100/hour with a tailor.
Edit: Forgot to mention that this was without the gains from Potions of Treasure Finding. With the drops from the Tiny Chests I got over 150/hour on my tailor character.

Best place I've found for farming Embersilk Cloth is in and around 41.0-68.9 in Twilight Highlands, The Twilight Gate. This is phase specific I believe. I'm up to the Horde quest: Up to the Citadel
前往暮光堡垒
. They generally won't aggro to you if you're just walking by, as they fight alliance/horde npc's.
WARNING: These guys (Twilight Ettin, Bloodeye Magelord and Bloodeye Brute) hit hard. I'm a 354ilvl equipped demo lock and have died on numerous occaisions AoEing down the mobs. Strat is, if there's only one Twilight Ettin, send in pet, Felstorm then AoE them down keeping axetoss for the Ettin's Overhead Smash. If there's two Ettins, then I go into Metamorphosis and burn them down that way. Have SB/Healthstone ready if needed. It is possible to take out these mobs one by one though obviously this is much slower.
In just under one hour with Potion of Treasure Finding I received:
320 Embersilk Cloth
17 Tiny Treasure Chests
7 Greens and 1 Blue
33g worth of vendor greys and about 90g in gold drops.
And then a 40g repair bill.

Found a spot in Uldum today under Obelisk of the Moon called Chamber of the Moon. It's filled with half-dead level 85 elites. It takes a few hits to kill them but the drop rate seems quite high, and they also tend to drop greens for those who are also doing enchanting. They are also reasonably close to each other and respawn pretty fast. This is not an AOE method.

I finally did

on my warlock (tailor), and found the cloth drops to be quite good. I had about a stack after finishing the quest, so I farmed for a bit and got two more stacks. If I had my wherewithal, I might not have handed it in right away and farmed with a treasure finding potion (or 2).
The mobs have a lot of HP, but there are a lot of them and little competition (since it's phased); and the alliance NPCs often hold aggro for a while (the mobs charge you when you steal aggro, so that's not so nice).

In my opinion the best place to farm this is still Tol'Barad, the Restless Front. I'd just like to add my bit of 'gathering information'.
I've done 4 separate 1-hour runs at the Restless Front using the Potion of Treasure Finding. My worst run gave me:
500 Embersilk Cloth
8 Greens
10 Volatile Life
10 Volatile Air
And a few Pyrite Ores
My best run gave me:
550 Embersilk Cloth
4 Greens
10 Volatile Air
10 Volatile Fire
10 Pyrite Ore
10 Elementium Ore
5 Volatile Life
3 Volatile Water
And about 200G both from looting and the Treasure Chests.
Not a whole lot of difference, but still a difference none-the-less. All-in-all I'm very pleased with this spot and will continue to farm here until I get tired of doing so. I should add that I'm a tailor and as such will receive more Cloths from both mobs and the Chests. The rest remains unaffected.

Tol Barad Peninsula - just take a pick tbh , village to the north , restless ghosts and undead workers building some mad ship on the west part
Tol Barad area : if human prison area is open this is basicly gold mine for Embersilk Cloth , also infatry that is left over drops cloth aswell (they are in 3 areas )
Twilight Highlands - everywhere where u have good groups of humanoids
Basicly Elementium mines , Twilight gates , beach shore , Wildhammer-Dragonmaw fighting camps for dailys

One of the best, easiest, most convenient places I have found to farm this is on Twilight Shores in the Twilight Highlands. Some people have mentioned the beach before in the comments, but there are 2 groups of mobs with a static respawn point, and a very fast respawn. This means: no more running back and forth between mobs to loot. They will all die in the same spot. No more finding mobs to kill. These will always come back.
The short version for those who don't like to read
: Go to (77.0, 70.3) in TH. You can stand in one spot, pulling snipers to you without them ever sniping back, and without pulling their buddies to you. The pile of dead corpses will conveniently place itself around your character. With the very fast respawn time, you can get a very decent cloth farm. Just watch out for Alliance players if you're on PvP, as this is contested territory.
More details, and why this works so well
: Go to coordinates (77.0, 70.3) in TH. There should be a dock behind you, a group of 4 Highbank Snipers in front of you, and another group of 3 snipers to your right.
Since these are the "sniper posts", these units will not leave/move/patrol to fight with the other NPCs. They will always be in the same spot.
The snipers have a minimum range on their "snipe" attack.
What this means is that if you stand close enough to them, and hit them with a ranged attack, they will be unable to use their ranged attack, and actually come to you in order to use their melee attack. This makes for an easy pile of corpses at your feet to loot later. Additionally, since they are constantly "engaged in battle", trying to snipe the horde troops on the beach, if you are a ranged class, you can attack them without aggroing any of the other snipers around them.
Their respawn timer is SHORT, around 25 seconds or so. You do not need to clear the entire group for the respawns, they are all on individual timers. Using single target spells or autoattacks, you probably won't be able to kill all 7 of them without at least one respawning before you're done. Continue farming. I have actually had several occasions where I farmed this way TOO LONG without enough downtime between spawns, and my old unlooted corpses faded away. Farm Farm Farm!
Edit: I was going to add a screenshot showing the position for better frame of reference, but new users can't do that it seems. I'll add one when possible.

There are a few criteria for a good farming spot:
1.
High concentration of humanoid mobs
: It doesn't matter if they are single or in groups, just that you can go from one to the next with little down time.
2.
Quick respawn time
: Fast enough that you can run a circuit without having to worry about down time.
3.
Good drop rate of whatever you are farming
: Wowhead can give you a good idea of this but ideally a 30% or higher drop rate is what you want.
If you find a spot with all three of these, you are golden. Do what I have done and keep them to yourself. Of the 5 spots I had where I could easily pull over 300 cloth and 15+ chests an hour, only 2 are left because people bragged about them.

I sell all my Bolts of Embersilk Cloth To a Person for 200G a stack for Quick selling, and brought me 114 Stacks X 20G = 2280G + 232G -64G = 2448G in a hour.... Not includeing the AH for the Pyrite Ore = 10G a peice = 9X18 = 162 + Final = 2610G Total in that run. I did a run before this without the Potion of Treasure finding and came out with about 460 Embersilk Cloth and gold trade for that quickly as well. So yea.... I farmed
Charred Flamewakers
for 1 hour, as a tailorer with a treasure finding potion, this is what i looted:
(when it says "around" an embersilk value, it's +/- 4 because i just looked at how many bolts of embersilk cloth i could make and multiplied by 5)
charred flamewalkers
around 285 embersilk
67g looted
2 volatile fires (the volatile fires were from the surrounding enemies)
6 greens
34g in vendor trash
9 tiny treasure chests (contents hyphonated)
- 2 volatile fire
- 8 volatile life
- 4 volatile water
- 4 volatile earth
- 1 green
- 3 elementium ore
- 1 pyrite ore
- around 40 embersilk
- 24 gold
I farmed as a demonology warlock with felguard pet, ilvl 354 pve. I would use Felstorm whenever i pulled 3 or more, and i'd use metamorphosis if i pulled 5 or more. When pulling more than 5, i found it got quite dangerous so played it safe with 5 as my maximum. Often i would just pull one at a time, nuking it with only Immolate then shadowbolt spam (i decided not to use corruption since i killed them too fast. incinerate filler if proc, or soulfire if proc and hand of guldan every cd) I'd use Axe Toss liberally to reduce the damage my pet would take and to keep enemies off of me. If my pet got low on health i'd just soulburn up another one and i'd generally only need to use Soul Harvest if i tried a big pull.

I grinded Fractured Front lvling my guys from 82-85 and made a fortune. Well, now I'm 85 and as a 5 mage boxer, I am running short on cloth so I decided to do it again for an hour. Realize that it takes me 3-5 seconds to clear entire 8-12 mob groups (the true bottleneck is looting tbh), but I'll write down what I got (had to empty bag 3x via Traveler's Tundra Mammoth (highly recommend). OFC use a potion of Treasure Finding. Here are the results at 4am with noone else there:
Fractured Front
41x Treasure Chests (results below include these opened)
133 Bolts Cloth (I'm a Tailor)
17x Greens (DE'd to 40x Hypnotic Dust & 7x Lesser Celestial Essence)
Brittany's Ceremonial Spaulders
Enchant Bracer - Agility
Design: Defender's Nightstone
19x Volatile Life
14x Volatile Earth
10x Volatile Fire
8x Volatile Water
5x Volatile Wind
16x Pyrite Ore
9x Elementium Ore
258g on this guy (greys sold here also, but drops split on my other guys too
It's too early to do the math, but I'm guessing 10k+ gold in an hour. Not a bad haul. Remove the world drop blue and 2x recipes and at 25g per bolt of cloth and lets say just 10g per volatile x56 and probably 400gold on all my guys, I'll say I can consistently avg 4000-5000g / hour. Not too shabby.

I've been farming in Deepholm, on the shelf between Needlerock Slag and Stonehearth. Loads of mobs to AOE. They're quite tough, but if you're level 85 with good gear, they're not too much of a problem. An hour of farming with cloth scavenging and the treasure potion yielded:
221 embersilk
27g trash
21g cash
9 greens which I put on the AH for a total of 836g (prices pitched to sell, but not stupidly cheap).
19 treasure chests
The chests when opened yielded:
57 embersilk
14 volatile air
9 volatile water
4 volatile fire
4 volatile earth
3 elementium ore
14 pyrite ore
58g cash
I'll try Verlok Stand next to compare, but it seems the results for both places are pretty similar. I would recommend this place as long as you can cope with groups of 5-10 level 82 mobs at a time. I was farming as an arcane mage, so fairly good AOE and innervate obviously help, as does free mage food to regen cheaply. I was taking it fairly easy and even logged out a couple of times. Clearly the potion was WELL worth the money (40g on our server, cheaper with an alchemist friend ;D )
Hope this is useful for y'all.

Perfect place to farm embersilk cloth is in Told Barad in Rustberg Village. Especially in the port. the fishermen there almost instant spawn and the drop rate is 2 - 5 silk every two to three guys. Got 5 stacks in 10 - 15 minutes.
Awesome!

I found a great place to farm embersilk as well. With the treasure finding potion active, I went to Uldum to the Maker's Ascent where all those troops are that you have to kill for that daily. I got about 9 stacks in just 20 minutes.

Note: I used a 382 Fire Mage that has 525 tailoring with the Potion of Treasure Finding as well as guild perks.
Be sure to use the potion as the majority of cloth will come from the chests!
Your numbers may differ from mine depending on server population, your dps output, your time in between kills, etc.
The humans in the Chamber of The Moon (the inside of Obelisk of the moon) in Northwest Uldum before doing the quest line in this area.
If you have done the quests for here then the humans are no longer here.
This is by far the best place to farm. Re-spawn rates are quick and thewre are plenty to go around ensuring that you will NEVER run out of things to kill :D. Note: The Guardian npc's that are fighting will die if you attack the troopers, taking away your loot. To avoid this always single target kill the Guardians before the troopers.
Average loot per hour: 400-425 embersilk cloth with 2-4 cloth per kill avg, 10+ treasure chests, 360g after selling unwanted items, and other various drops like green gear.
Edit: 3/14/2013 - Removed unneeded info. If you need embersilk go to the Uldum location. If you can not farm the npcs underground you can kill the npcs that walk the stairs outside. Happy farming!
Edit: 1/2/2014 - Removed Glopgut Ogres and Flamewakers as they no longer drop much cloth. Also removed Verlock Stand as it appears from reports that blizzard has nerfed the respawn of the npcs. It is also quite possible that the amount of cloth that can be obtained from the Uldum location has dropped so you may or may not come near the numbers I have posted above. I choose the Uldum location because the npcs respawn quite fast and there are plenty of them as well as no terrain or objects to navigate around.
Edit 3/10/2014 - Did about 30 mins of farming at the Chamber of The Moon in Uldum today. Used a 481 frost DK leveling tailoring with guild perks and no treasure potion. I stopped once I hit 300 cloth to go vendor and post on here that there is still nothing wrong with this farm spot or at least not for me. Also, thanks to everyone who has upvoted this post :D

Stonehearth in Deepholm is my place. I was at a rate of over 600 cloth/hour. Plus the amount of Tiny Treasure Chests makes the other loot you get superior to the other locations. Also, there is very limited competition, infinite respawn, and most of the mobs are tanked for you.

Now looking at just the Embersilk alone, on my server (Kil'jaeden) I can bring in over 2K bolting them up and selling them at auction (90 bolts x 25g each = 2250g)! Of all the times i farmed here i was ganked by a rogue once...

A way that i found to gain a good amount of
烬丝布
in a shorter amount of time was to get a
寻宝药水
which last once hour and fly to Deephom, and go right below Needlerock Slag and right above Stonehearth. In that area there will be large groups of troggs in combat with NPC's that have roughly 30k health. Since troggs are humanoids, they themselves have a chance to drop
烬丝布
, but they also have a chance to drop a
小巧的财宝箱
while the potion is active. These chests aside from gold can drop a variety of things. Including Embersilk cloth, every type of Volatile, Ores, Patterns (such as world drops), uncommon quality armor and weapons. They also have a chance to drop rare quality items often around the levels of 82-83.
The passive ability of cloth scavenging as a tailor above level 400 will increase the gain of Embersilk cloth by approximately 50%. Any variation of an aoe attack can easily kill the troggs that are in groups very easily. There threat is fixed higher to the NPC's so after hitting them once they won't all target you.

Results of 1 hour of farming Rock Troggs at Stonehearth(Deepholm) as a frost mage with Potion of Magic Finding:
Embersilk Cloth x228 = 893g (3,92 ea)
Pyrite Ore x15 = 68g (4,56 ea)
Elementium Ore x21 = 83g (3,94 ea)
Volatile Air x21 = 326g (15,55 ea)
Volatile Fire x12 = 27g (2,24 ea)
Volatile Life x12 = 15g (1,30 ea)
Volatile Earth x15 = 4g (0,27 ea)
(Got really lucky) Formula: Enchant Bracer - Mighty Intellect = ~3500g
7x Greenies = 280g (~40g ea, maybe more)
Gold from bodies and grays = 228g
--------------------------
Total: 5424g
Total without formula: 1924g
Considering the formulas droprate, this could be an average of 2200g/h - A very good way to farm for money.

I haven't found anywhere better then the troggs in Deepholm.
Stone Trogg Geomancer
-
Stone Trogg Berserker
-
Needlerock Rider
-
Location
Frost Deathknight in Ilvl 374 pvp gear.
Really easy to farm the large groups if you can at least some what self-heal and aoe.
Done as tailor with
Potion of Treasure Finding
.
1 hour run
Loot
398 embersilk cloth
24 tiny treasure chests
9 greens + 1 blue
79 gold + 37 gold from vendor trash
Loot from tiny treasure chests
125 embersilk cloth
19 pyrite ore
14 elementium ore
11 volatile life
10 volatile air
9 volatile fire
3 volatile water
2 volatile earth
97 gold
I highly suggest using the
Potion of Treasure Finding
.
It's under 100 gold on my server and I make more than that usually just in the gold from the treasure chests.
All items after that are pure profit. I have many more runs that returned better results or about the same.
Big money maker if you can move fast and handle taking large groups out.

One of the places I like to go is the restless front in Tol Barad. it has a pretty good spawn rate and the mobs are pretty easy to kill. I also make sure to keep a
寻宝药水
up at all times to increase the amount of drops that I get. This place you really don't have to worry about a lot of mobs attacking you at the same time and it isn't hard to get back to a place to sell unwanted stuff for maximum profit when bags fill up instead of just tossing the junk.

If you have someone else with you (tank and healer combo) the best place to farm embersilk is on the second level of needlerock chasm. The troggs respawn after 40 seconds or so.

I would suggest bringing a class here that has strong AoE's as the mobs are in groups of 5-10. I used my 85 Arcane Mage iLvL 380 spamming
魔爆术
, which I found more effective then going frost and using
because some of the mobs interrupt and
魔爆术
has a larger area of effect. I was pulling 20-35k dps on the groups depending on size. To be honest the hardest part was looting, but that should be cleared up in patch 5.0 with Area looting :D

I found the best place to farm this is from the Highbank Snipers in Twilight Highlands. They spawn almost immediately so you just have to stand there and kill. They spawn faster than you can kill them all and after 100 kills, it was a 95% drop rate for me. You do have to be a tailor to get it to drop. If you aren't a tailor, it won't drop.
Not sure why this was voted down, but still as of 9/21/12 best place I've found for cloth as a tailor. Even without guild perks. No running around, just literally stand there and kill. Got about 10 stacks in 10 minutes.

The most efficient way to farm it even for non-tailors is to use a
寻宝药水
and farm
石头穴居人地术师
,
石头穴居人狂暴者
&
石头穴居人伏击者
near Stonehearth in
深岩之洲
. They are found in packs of 5-8 and even low-mid 80's characters with any type of AoE can clear them out quickly. They are numerous and have an incredibly fast respawn timer.
After several days of testing 1 hour with a treasure finding potion on a non-tailor, without guild perk nets me 200-400 Cloth between standard cloth drops and cloth from the
小巧的财宝箱
given by the potion. Not to mention numerous greens, ore and volatiles. Results would naturally be better with a tailor, but I vastly prefer this location to Tol Barad, mostly because it does not require a summon or being 85 to get there. And as an 85's, it can be cleared it vastly quicker and more safely than killing at the bases in Tol Barad. Especially since farming in Stonehearth does not require faction control of a zone.
And during Darkmoon Faire, it makes a great place to finish off

After about 30 minutes of farming at the Fractured Front on a geared 85 shadow priest with a Potion of Treasure Finding, I had 161 Embersilk and 6 greens to Disenchant. This was not on a tailor, so even for non-tailors this place is an excessively great place to farm. The mobs rarely aggroed on me; the dwarves and golems seem to be effective tanks. When they did they did not hit that hard. The mobs come in packs, are numerous, and respawn quickly, so while nobody else was there farming I imagine that if there was, there wouldn't be much of an issue. This seems like it would be a great place to farm even below 85. Can't wait to drag my tailor up there.

I dont have exact numbers but after a solid hour with a Treasure Finding Flask at Verlok Stand (71,26 in Deepholm) I ended up with 36 chests, a stack of greens to DE for my mage and plenty of trash I kept selling off to my mammoth vendor when bags were full which netted me around 320 Embersilk cloth from the chests plus some G from the mobs. Very successful way to do a casual cloth farming/gold making session.

Today I farmed in deepholm south of needlerock slag, in and south of the crater. there are spawns of 4-15 troggs wich are easy to aoe down.
stats:
85 feral druid
tailoring (with the increased drop skill)
4 instants swipes (cat) per pack, mobs died in 3 seconds.
1 Potion of Treasurefinding
1 hour
Loot:
520 embersilk cloth
16 green equips
26 mixed volatile's
16 mixed ores
2 JC designs
gold about 200-300 at least
They drop the cloth and chests so fast u cant even keep up, also not alot of vendor trash, i farmed for an hour and i only filled about 60 slots, being able to go from fly form to cat form in the air, swipe em down and instant fly form again speeds up alot. but its boooooring after a while

A lot of people are misinformed or don't understand what basis the others are gauging their info\data. I have multiple accounts, and do my dailies with 3 toons normally. One of which is a tailor. I was stuck in the firelands for a long time (waiting for that damn pet on my main), but finally had a week to do the other dailies and have some minor data, but major clarification.
Some posts are tailors saying "This spot is the best!". Then when a non-tailor goes to that location, they end up scratching their head, thinking, hell no it isn't. Chances are it was a tailor saying it was great.
Here are sine digits just from doing my dailes today. No grinding the cloth, just doing the needed minimum to get the dailies done. I will list what I got 1st, then what was still available for my tailor to loot. I was sure to always loot with the non-tailor 1st.
Tol Barad = 11 (non tailor) 60 (Tailor, additional cloth)
Deepholm = 0 - 5
Twilight Highlands = 3 - 20
Now people really just need to look at the history and use common sense. Blizz has always made the best farming in the highest zone. You cannot get to TB until 85, thus it's TB. Same with Frostweave from Wrath. Icecrown was the best spot in killing masses and masses of the fallen hero's.
So in my one week of experience as a tailor and as not. TB hands down. I good alternate is the insignia daily quest area in twilight highlands. Both of these spots give a fair hand out for non-tailors and insane amounts for tailors. In TB, just about everything I killed one day had extra cloth for my tailor, while today (numbers above) was actually below average. Also keep in mind that I was doing dailies for 2 only today, so maybe a more fair number would be about 80% of the above (since most quests we each got credit per kill).
So again, the confusion here is who's posting and the key point of are they a tailor? Or not? Just whatever you do, let people do their damn dailies. Most people (like me), just want to get them over with, so don't keep grinding your cloth when someone is doing their chores. Take a smoke break or something, seriously.

i tend to also get on avg 20-40 Greens Sometimes a Rare recipe for JC/Enc by end i also have vendored 200gish in greys and its perfect spot as the therzane npc is right near. the mobs up there are in packs of 5-20 & they have a 10 second respawn i'd image with 3 People you could most likely Double the cloth.

The area at Uldum, ar the Obelisk of Moon, as stated previously, is a very nice place to farm for embersilk cloth. One of the main reasons this place might actually be better than TB is that the treasure chests can give up to 11 cloth, and you usually find at least 10 with the
寻宝药水
.
A few things to be aware of:
-Always hit both humans, but attack the non-elite one and kill it first. If you only tap it once, and you don't deal enough damage, it won't count towards a kill of yours.
-Spawn rate is VERY fast. You can also mount down here.

This is really a matter of choice and character. I just took my frost mage to Needlerock...or wherever the troggs are fighting the dwarves and stone guardians...anyway they're all 50% or less health and grouped 4 or 5 up to 6 or 7 depending on the group. Doing AoE here was extremely simple. My character is a tailor and I used treasure finding. In the hour the potion was on, I ended up with 11 stacks of cloth, 9 greens, and about 25 small treasure chests (I kept opening them but I got a lot more than anywhere else I've farmed). The chests had elementium and pyrite and volatiles. I tried doing AoE in Tol and it blew goats. I haven't been to Uldum but from what I've read, its not so great for AoE. Regardless with the amount of goods I found in Deepholm, that will be my place to farm cloth since it's a ridiculous amount of gold on my AH. Last note, I have finished the quests there so I don't know how the phasing affected the area if at all but I didn't see another player there the hour I was farming.

Patch 4.3.4
Loc: Upper level of Verlok Stand in Deepholm.
Yesterday I farmed this on my Mage Tailor. Almost every mob dropped one or more cloth each.
Today I just killed 20 mobs on my non-Tailor Shammy and I got TWO cloth total.
I have previously noted in Dungeons where Tailors in party we getting major cloth drops and I was seeing zilch. Clearly Blizz has MAJORLY improved Tailor cloth gets AND OR nerfed it for the rest of us.

UPDATE

You MUST be in a party, even with a lvl1. set looting to FFA.
See video of it here:
http://youtu.be/u6ZJkWZP4kI
if you are looking for
烬丝布
, the
无面摄魂者
are you BEST choice, forget uldum or deepholm. find one near the Maw of Madness in
暮光高地
and follow it around till you find a shaman and 2 fire elementals sitting and the end of a ramp. the shammy casts heroism every 3 minutes or so, and meeles for around 50k, and the elementals hit the mobs for 60k with their aoe novas. theres another ele shammy atop the small hill casting lighting bots on the mobs too.
just stand near the shammy and TAG the mobs, dont try to kill them. even if you deal only 1dmg to them they still tag you for loot, let the elementals aoe the mobs and AOE loot for great justice.
after one hour farming and looting with a tailor +
寻宝药水
the end result was around 400g, 25 greens, 5 blues, 30+
小巧的财宝箱
, around 30+ of each volatile and 1300+
烬丝布
yeah... 1.3k cloth!
.. thats 250 BOLTS, not cloth... 250 friggin BOLTS in one hour. the drop rate is completly insane, the mobs just stream in groups of 3 - 4 right to you so you dont even have to move, and the fire elementals destroy them in seconds. all you have to do is some kind of aoe damage and loot. in short, every single second a mob will be dying and sometimes the spawn gets so crazy you and up surrrounded by 10+ mobs. dont worry about damage, the elementals will taunt them and you will barely take any damage.
And if you get ganked just run up the ramp, and the earthen ring NPCs will obliterate any pesky intruders. just dont attack back. ;)
just a note, DONT go here unless you are a tailor, the non tailoring drop rate is crap.
And keep this in mind!, on other sites killing mobs puts them in turbo spawn mode, meaning they will spawn fast and their corpses will despawn faster. in this spot mobs are not in a dinamic spawn times, so their corpses will stay after looted for up to 2 minutes!... my pc was brought to its knees by 100+ corpses and had to lower gfx settings, so keep that in mind.
also, get a mammoth mount so you can vendor the trash right away, theres tons of it. or use a macro to delete it. but since its dropping from lvl 84 mobs, the greys are are actually expensive, so try and sell them to improve the gold/hour ratio to even more crazy levels.
hope this helps, upvote if you find this helpful so others can see.

For me this is farmed the easiest in Deepholm at Needlerock slag. As a mage, I simply use Ice Barrier and Glyphed Arcane explosion. And ofcourse using potion of treasurefinding. In 1 hour, I got 1364 embersilk cloth, about 30 of each volatile, 40 of each pyrite and elementium ore, 31 greens, 2 blues and a lots of grey trash.
At 30 minutes, I vendor all grey stuff to my traveler tundra mount, but guild herald will also work ofcourse. I also bring my enchanting rod (I have 119 empty bag slots), so I can disenchant all greens aswell on the 30 minute mark. I repeat this again at 15 minutes.
Boring stuff, but with some good music, time flies.

As a tailor, running the Theramore scenario nets me about 125+ pieces of cloth for just 10 minutes or so of work, assuming everyone in the party loots so I can grab the extra cloth.

With the new Theramore scenario open for level 85 there is a new great spot for embersilk cloth, i was in there with a tailor and some groups would give me a whole stack of cloth.
When the 'real' expansion starts and the Theramore Scenario goes to level 90 it will ofcourse drop pandaria cloth, so its right now or never!
I like the idea that its an instance and atleast for me the wait is very short, also most groups just blast through it.
The cloth i needed for the first aid dense embersilk achivement took no time

I like to farm embersilk in deepholm. I get an easy run off the twilight cultists at the master's gate. Start at the bottom and work your way up through the camp, by the time your done the cultists at the bottom have respawned again and you just start over.

Far and away the most reliable source of gold is selling embersilk cloth (especially with prices crashing now). People always need this to level and tailoring has become a popular profession in this expansion. The best place to farm it? Needlerock Slag in Deepholm as others have said. In 45 minutes with my lock, dk or warrior I can fill my bags to the brim with the stuff.
With CRZ in the mix now, competition is a bit more steep around the area, so if you notice way too many people in the area then I'd farm at a later time. I'm there with usually 2 or 3 other people just destroying mobs and mobs of troggs. If you want to be an a$$ you can flag yourself and kill unsuspecting people in your way lol. To my credit I've only done this to the chinese farming bots in the area. They'll chase you no matter where you're at. So kill them off and you'll be in the clear.
Things to do:
Bring EMPTY BAGS. Nothing but your hearthstone.
Buff yourself with everything you can. Spells, flasks. etc (not necessary but helps you MOW through mobs faster. Especially important when competition is fierce while farming)
Pop a
寻宝药水
before you start.
Tag about 3 or 4 (GROUPS) of mobs at once. Once you tag them, kill.
Spec the best AOE you can and go to town.
45 minutes farming gave me about 130 bolts worth of cloth. BOLTS, not stacks. ;-) You may have to bolt up a little while farming but you will have unlimited supply of the stuff. Not to mention about 800g from selling vendor trash, greens and looting. I usually sell greens over 10 gold and DE anything less than 10 gold. Celestial Essence still sells for a solid price.
Again this a great for making gold in AH, I sell anywhere from 399g to 599g a stack (Bolt Stacks) and they SELL. The rest I use for dreamcloth to make
奢华的丝质宝石袋
and
幻像之袋
which sell for 1999g to 3999g a pop.
Happy Farming.
UPDATE: As of the trogg nerf earlier in the expansion this spot is no longer the best. The NEW SPOT IS GRIM BATOL. Take your decked out tailor into Normal Grim Batol and use the same advice. Just as much cloth and gold with ZERO competition. The gods are still kind ;-) Gl friends!

After starting my serpent cloud dailies and realizing that I would need to level my first aid, I tried the spot at the Chamber of the Moon. From what I was seeing, either drop rates were nerfed after MoP, or I am extremely unlucky.
I did however, notice that the Makers Terrace, has groups of mobs in packs of 10 that pat up and down the staircases. The mobs are from the quest that you shoot with the demo from afar, so they respawn quite quickly if you loot them all. There are 9 mobs and 1 elite trooper, as an 85 Guardian Druid it was easy enough to down them, and as a 90 WW monk even easier. Each pack would drop a range of 1-10 Embersilk. Took my first aid from 450->525 in about 30 minutes.
So if you have quested out of the range for the Chamber of the Moon, or are looking for a different area I would suggest Makers Terrace.

I went for an hour in Deepholm (Stonehearth) and another hour in Tol Barad (Restless Front) to see which is more efficient. I am a casual farmer when I need things and probably not always the most efficient. 89 Boomkin self buffed with +90 Int food and Treasure pot. There were other groups at Deepholm; however, I had no issues finding groups of mobs. I was alone in Tol Barad.

*EDIT*
This was formerly a fantastic place to farm Embersilk, however, as of 5.4 the drops on these particular Troggs has been nerfed completely. When I farmed them after the patch, they only seem to drop silver. Troggs in Stonehearth still have an okay drop rate, but these mobs are not the gold mine they once were.
I began farming cloth just North of Stonehearth in Deepholm on a Level 85 Demonology Warlock, both a Tailor and using Treasure Hunting potions for one hour.
These loot results do not take into account gold collected from bodies or gray vendor trash as I deleted those for more bag space while farming.

The best place I personally have found to farm Embersilk (as an 85 Horde affliction warlock) is the Slithering Cove in Twilight Highlands with the
Blackscale Raider
and
Blackscale Mistress
es. They spawn very fast all along the coast and run towards the horde NPC's, all I do is dot them up running around while my voidlord grabs them and tanks them until the dots kill them.
In 30 minutes I gathered 152 Embersilk Cloth without a treasure finding potion.

蛮皮
+ 25x
暗色龙鳞
in 40 minutes. I did have the

I used to think that this was a good place for embersilk but I am beginning to rethink that after tonight. I just farmed the entire area it took me about 20ish minutes with about 20 mob groups in total give or take and this is what I got. I didn't use a potion but that would only have given me an occasional chest. So taking that into account, I think there have to be much better places that this.
11xEmbersilk (most of which came from the last two drops so about 70% in last 3 minutes)
1xPerforated Plate Belt (grey item worth about 1.2g)
2xRoast Beef
Not really worth my time to be honest anymore.

I just spent about an hour in Slithering Cove in Twilight Highland and it is not a good place to farm embersilk in my opinion. I am not sure how anyone could get that much embersilk as stated in a previous post from this past month.
Not only is this a somewhat combat area with the Nagas coming up out of the ocean and attacking the orc defenders, but you may likely be caught in combat as they continuously spawn and may not be able to mount or get out alive. I suggest you go with someone else. I was on my Warlock which made it a little easier as I could heal and had dps to keep me alive but in an hour I got a lot of junk which I sold and made about 2.7g that includes fish oil and various food items I dont want and not including repair costs. I got 5 embersilks only in that time.
The only way he is farming embersilks in this location is if he is on a level 90 with best makeup and killing every spawn that comes out of ocean which is unlikely and then group looting them. But I seriously have my doubts.

Edit: This spot is no longer ideal. Blizzard "fixed" the mob respawn time so they no longer instantly reappear.
FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO ARE NOT TAILORS and therefore DO NOT have Cloth Scavenging:
Do NOT bother with Chamber of the Moon (Uldum), Schnottz Landing (Uldum), The Restless Front (Tol Barad), Rustberg Village (Tol Barad), or Needlerock Slag (Deepholm), as these seem to be good spots for ONLY those who have Cloth Scavenging (Tailoring) coupled with a Potion of Treasure Finding.
That means if you have neither of those, these areas are basically useless. I attempted to farm all five of these places for 15 minutes each to get a test of how well they are for farming Embersilk Cloth and wound up with a grand total of 22 cloth. You read that correctly!
A total of 22 cloth from all 5 places combined. That is AWFUL.
I finally saw someone's post about
Verlok Stand
(Deepholm) and this is BY FAR THE BEST place to farm whether you're a tailor or not. I timed myself again for 15 minutes and in that time I wound up with 78 Embersilk Cloth, 10 Greens (that I disenchanted), 1 Elementium Lockbox, and a bunch of grays ranging from 1g-5g each. The respawn rate is RIDICULOUS (in a good way), you are able to AOE grind ~20 NPC's at a time, and you don't have to move more than ~15 yards back and forth in the same spot. It's THAT good. The NPC's you will be grinding are called
Verlok Shroomtenders
and
Verlok Grubthumpers
, and are located on a short overpass with two large stalagmites emerging from the ground.
Furthermore, there is more than one great spot along the same overpass so if there is someone else grinding for Embersilk, that's okay! You will never have to cross paths because by the time you're done killing/looting 1 group, it will start to respawn. Keep in mind that in order to successfully farm this area (in other words, NOT DIE) you must be level 90.
So whether you are farming Embersilk Cloth to level Tailoring, to have a Tailor create
Deathsilk Bracers
for you to disenchant into
Hypnotic Dust
, or are just trying to farm for greens to disenchant, this is an amazing spot.

Verlock Stand is the place to go to farm Embersilk Cloth. There is a bridge where the mobs basically spawn while you are in combat, so the stacks start adding up pretty quick.

After completing most of the quests in Twilight Highlands, there is an area called the Twilight Gate(roughly 40,65), where ogres and ettins are fighting npcs. Fastest farm rate I have ever done, forget Tol Barad and Deepholm. Just stroll up to each group and AoE them down and profit. Got 850 cloth in around 40 minutes here until my bags got full, and this was without the treasure potion. Add that in and you'll see even better results. Happy farming.

Went back after got some treasure finding potions 1st one I got 1500 cloth and bout 30 greens and blues and made 600g from greys, loots and treasure chests
2nd time with potion done lil better with around 2500 cloth, 60 greens and blues and made a nice 1k gold from greys, loots and treasure chests. now this time was better cause there was n1 around.
Also ended up with some ore and stuff

Seems they have nerfed the respawn time for the mobs on Verlok Stand. It blows now. I tried it 3 different time. Before I could run from one end of the overhang to the other killing and turn around they were respawning. Probably 10 second respawn. Now it takes about a minute for them to respawn. Needlerock slag seems the best now.

2 Volatile Fires
22 Elementium Ore
14 Volatile Earth
8 Volatile Water
7 Volatile Air
13 Pyrite Orde

As of 5.4, Needlerock Slag and Verlok Stand in Deepholm are no longer viable farming spots. I killed every mob on auto-pilot at Needlerock Slag last night and didn't pay attention to the loot until I got ready to bolt it up. Not one piece of cloth dropped. (I am a tailor with the Northrend buff.)
I ran Stonecore on normal and came out with 38pcs. I ran Lost City on normal and came out with 54pcs. This is worth the time for me until I max out the panda rep, and then I won't be interested in running instances just for cloth. (A heroic run of SC resulted in 62pcs, but even at ilvl 515, it takes too long unless you have another reason for running it.)
I'll try going back to an old favorite, the Restless Soldiers/Infantry on Tol Barad, but be warned that it has always been true that only tailors benefit from higher cloth drop rates from these mobs.
EDIT - one pass killing all the fighting pairs yielded 2 stacks, so this is back to being the highest-yielding place for tailors outside instances.
As if hypnotic dust wasn't expensive enough... *sigh*

In 5.4, I've found Twilight Gate in
Twilight Highlands
to be an interesting farming location for this cloth. I farmed for around 2-2.5 hours and walked away with enough cloth to reach Tailoring level 500 on my level 85 Mage (starting at 425 or a bit higher), and also had sufficient cloth to skill First Aid up to Windwool Bandages.
It's located north of Crushblow and south of Victor's Point.
The ettins and ogres there drop a fair amount of cloth - provided that you have
Northrend Cloth Scavenging
- and have a good density to allow for quick farming. Especially the parts close to the Horde and Alliance encampment, where you will find orcs and dwarfs respectively battling against them. I recommend prioritizing these parts and clearing the rest of the camp while they respawn.
Besides Twilight Gate, I tried farming the Elementium Depths - the mine in the southern part of the region - but found myself rather obstructed a lot as a caster. Melee classes may find this a good location though. If you have the
quest
for the last guy in here, you can quickly return to the entrance and go for another sweep (don't hand it in though!). It´s also a great place to gather Elementium/Pyrite with Mining.
I also tried
Tol Barad
(the Restless Soldiers/Infantry and undead humans at the Wellson Shipyard), but found myself restricted by ground mounts only, and didn't feel that I could acquire cloth at a quick enough pace (at least compared to Twilight Gate).

92G Sold
83 Embersilk
5 Greens

at this time (5.4) this is still a good place to farm cloth, i aint got as much as this guy but manage to craft my 26slots bag. was about 230cloth and like less than 10 chests on 1h run. 2greens so far. (resto druid)

I found that the best place to farm this cloth right now is on The Restless Front, Tol Barad. In an hour I get 1000 cloth, at least 15 greens. ~700g, and about 15-20 of each volatile (i'll explain.)
My mage is a tailor, and during farming, I use
寻宝药水
That is how I get SO much cloth AND volatiles. I also use
金苔藓
. It procs at about every 5 minutes, and the gold amount ranges from 25-59g. So, on average, it generates about 500g an hour. Just make sure to loot the gold right away, because other players CAN loot it for you! Few times I was farming with another player, and she stole some of my gold piles!
If you have
金羊毛
you can equip both of them and get even more gold.
A stack of cloth on my server goes for around 80g. 1000 cloths are 50 stacks. That's 4000g in cloth! realistically, though, I cannot sell that much cloth, so I make
烬丝背包
and those sell faster than I can make them ;) I also use volatiles I get from
小巧的财宝箱
to make
梦幻布
which in turn I use to make
幻像之袋
and those sell for about 2000g a piece, but I use them for myself for now.
I hope this helps, and happy farming.

So many of these posts call for a super strong toon. You certainly do not want to take a toon that you are leveling your tailoring on. (even a level 75 toon at the top the tier for tailoring embersilk will have to work very cautiously in most of the areas). I took my level 90 Retro Palli into Grim Batol and cleared it in just over an hour ( I was killed 4 times). I picked up 57 Embersilk Cloth which was way better than any other of the 'supposed good places". That toon is a skinner and I picked up 37 savage leather in the run. There were no potions of treasure finding on the AH and being a skinner it did not have the cloth scavenging, but I should still be able to gather enough cloth to do my first aid and my tailoring with about 16 or 17 hours of farming.

So after reading most of the comments here, and trying most of the locations given, Deepholm, Uldum, Tol borad etc. etc.
What I found was often a lot of other people farming the location and or, a pretty crappy drop rate, or PvP flagged derps looking for a fight (tough not hit them with my legendary cape proccing all of the time).
Dungeons, Dungeons and more Dungeons. And quite specifically, Grim Batol.
Grim Batol is a dungeon in the Western edge of the Twilight Highlands, entrance is at 19.21 54.12
So my recommendation is based on using my iLvL 552 Marksman Hunter and a tanking pet. In most of these areas, the pet isn't even needed, but once I go into the dungeons the tank pet helps with the bosses if nothing else.
Now what I like about the dungeons is a gaurantee of no competition and no getting into PvP.
Some dungeons are more spread out for mobs than others, but I like the groupings in Grim Batol.
First time it took me about 15 - 20 minutes for full clear, bosses included, though you could skip at least the last two.
59 embersilk cloth
20 Ruined embersilk scraps (my hunter is not my tailor, so I don't know if these would have been any different had the tailor been the one farming, but she is a priest and no where near as good at murdering mobs as the hunter)
7 greens
6 blues
and assorted trash for cash greys
Second time, with the stop watch running, and 56 open bag slots, I skipped all bosses except Forgemaster Throngus (you might be able to sneak by him, but I figured why bother, he was nothing for me to kill).
So the time on two complete runs (no bosses but Throngus) was 28 minutes
89 Embersilk Cloth
22 Ruined Embersilk Scraps
15 greens
5 blues ( 3 of which were the Abandoned Dark Iron Ring, and a shroud of "dark memories cape" which are all BoE)
and the rest of the bag filled with grey trash.
The nearest Horde outpost with repairs and a mailbox is BLOODGULCH in the center right of the map (not real close, but meh)
The nearest Alliance outpost is Victor's Point, since I'm horde I couldn't tell you if it has repairs/vendor or a mailbox.
But it was quick and easy AND RESETTABLE 5 TIMES AN HOUR !
to me with an arguably high level toon, this was much better than anything else I have tried so far.
I'm gonna go look for a raid instance now that might provide a little better opportunity and will update what, if any I find.

Looks to me like the killing fields of Deepholm have been drop-nerfed. Dungeons still are good (also picking up greens for d/e to make bags), and the clusters of infantry in the nw corner of Uldum drop a decent amount, but they respawn too slow.

The best place for farming this, is level 85 normal instances, of which the best is Grim'batol. With tank talent, you can pull all the mobs in the instance together and faceroller keyboard, then a few minutes later, loot all what you get.

The Maker's Rise above the Obelisk of the Moon in Uldum is very good for people who have completed the quest inside the temple. I think all of my alts have done that quest, so I can't confirm that it's better inside the temple when there are npc's there. I can confirm the 400 cloth per hour, but I feel sorry for the people trying to do the bombing daily at the same time. There are not many of those, thank goodness.

Anyone know of or have a good farming spot as of 5.4.2? All comments I am reading, the spots they are suggesting have all been nerfed. Just looking for the most recent farm spot if anyone knows of anywhere good.

Grim Batol - 558 Destruction Warlock, Tailor + Potion of Treasure Finding.
The entire dungeon took just under 6 minutes to clear (With Forgemaster Throngus and Erudax) and I got:
30g 75s
8x Tiny Treasure Chest
219x Embersilk Cloth
14x Grey trash items sold for 33g 61s
6x Random Greenies
4x Blue items, one of which were BoE
From the Tiny Treasure Chests i recieved:
24g 99s
17x Embersilk Cloth
6x Volatile Air
4x Volatile Life
4x Pyrite Ore
In total it earned me:
89g 35s
236x Embersilk Cloth+ assorted items for the AH and Disenchanting.
Good place to farm if you're Tailor, have Potion of Treasure Finding and is capable of staying alive while killing everything with fire.
I hope you found this usefull, happy hunting!
*After 5 runs in Grim Batol, i have recieved 943x Embersilk Cloth, and a big bunch of greenies. I have turned all the cloth into Deathsilk Bracers and Disenchanted both the greenies and the bracers, bringing in 213 hypnotic dust and 89 lesser celestial essence.

If your Lv90 and geared I recommend soloing Grim Batol.
Ran it 5 times and got 204 Embersilk cloth within 45mins.
Higher Item Level the quicker the run.
Try this if the other places posted arent to your liking. Have Fun

I found the Lost City of Tol'Vir to be the fastest, as you can mount up, run around collecting up as many mobs as you want and just AOE them down. Very easy.

After farming embersilk cloth at chamber of the moon in Uldum, which is a great place to farm, I've found that troggs at stonehearth in deepholm is an equally good place, but without the worry of killing the guardian npc's and losing loot. Troggs almost always drop embersilk, and the respawn rate is very rapid to say the least.
Always use potion of treasure finding! cloth drops from the chests found tend to be 10 to 15 embersilks. A lot of greens drop from this place too, which can be disenchanted for hypnotic dust if you're wanting to make embersilk bags. averaged about 450 cloths per hour, including those from chests.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##

I'm farming this for one of my lower level Tailor alts.
I found that with a
寻宝药水
, the Troggs in Deepholm were
not
droppling any
小巧的财宝箱
. Maybe I was doing something wrong, but I abandoned this strategy after about 20 minutes after getting zero chests.
I also tried the Scion of Al'Akir elementals around Orsis in Uldum and had slightly better luck, but they were spread out and made farming very inefficient. The spawn rate was decent though.
I switched to Heroic Grim Batol runs and started having much better luck.
Character: ilvl 546 Brewmaster Monk, ~110,000 dps, non-tailor.
(with
寻宝药水
)
Horde, so tyron2000's technique wasn't an option for me.
I got in 4 full runs of Grim Batol in 1 hour, skipping all bosses, and skipping the drake flyover. Just a full clear of all trash.
(The instance limit is 5 per hour, so with better gear and bigger pulls I could have done this more effectively).
The first 3 runs took about 16 minutes total to clear the trash, run back, mount up on a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth, clear bag space, and reset the instance. The last run took 10 minutes to simply clear to the end.
Loot:
烬丝布
x 355
小巧的财宝箱
x 23
Lots of Greens, BOE Blues, junk, and gold :p (I didn't keep track of how much this netted me. There are more efficient ways to farm gold obviously.)
Within the
小巧的财宝箱
x 23 I got
烬丝布
x 95
动燃之土
x 5
动燃之水
x 10
动燃空气
x 2
动燃火焰
x 5
源质矿石
x 7
燃铁矿石
x 7
2 BOE Greens
77 gold
So for my 1 hour of work, I walked away with
烬丝布
x 450.
Also this is my first post to Wowhead, so hopefully y'all find it helpful :)

I'm not sure if this area has been mentioned before,
and
it is a bit exclusive, but I just discovered it to be a decent spot for grinding some very quick embersilk cloth:
Once you've opened up a few areas of firelands within the molten front, you can get the daily quest that leads you to the Forlorn Spire. From there, the quest
Solar Flare Destruction
takes place in the exact spot for farming. If you have a ranged class, position yourself beneath the solar flare. If you take out the four druids around it, and at least two more out to the sides, then they are instant respawns, and they drop a lot of embersilk!

Ok so
I used a 526 Frost Mage, and went to the Obelisk of the Moon in Uldum. I used a potion of treasure finding. Within 5 minutes i had over 100 Embersilk Cloth, within 20 minutes i had 301. All i was doing was running around and casting Living Bomb on all adds i saw. This spot is actually amazing for farming. I got about 10-15 greens in 20 minutes. A lot of little treasure chests drop as well, and in each treasure chest about 10 gold or so and 4-10 cloth drop in it as well. So within about an hour i got 904 cloth.
Great spot, recommended it to all my friends, they love it.

Anyone farming Embersilk should check out The Restless Front - Tol Barad for sure. I was looking for a good spot I could level tailoring and enchanting and read about Restless Front and grabbed a couple Treasure Finding potions and went to farm.
The first run I forgot to keep track of but I do remember 15-20 greens, 178 Embersilk Bolts (NOT cloth), about 10 of each Volatile. After vendering greys and other junk, opened 41 Tiny Treasure Chests, I was also 350g richer in just an hour.
As I'm just finished my second round, I have fresh loots! My second hour with Treasure Finding Potion ended with
-155 Embersilk Bolts
- 6 greens
-1 Blockade's Lost Sheild /item=67145
31 Tiny Treasure Chests
-26 Embersilk Bolts
-18 Volatile Water
-11 Volatile Life
-9 Volatile Earth
-3 Volatile Air
-15 Elementium Ore
-12 Pyrite Ore
-2 greens
As well as 288 gold after vendering greys and opening chests. Great place to farm in my opinion!
Edit: I was 508 Destro. Warlock at the time :) (PS to warlocks, if single mob - Curse to aggro, if 2 fighting - drop a Rain of Fire with the ring farthest from you but touching the mobs so it aggro's but only does a few thousand damage :)
Upon a few other farms with similar to the posted ones, I have learned that The Restless Front can be farmed very efficiently by two people.
I've made a picture with my MS Paint skills to show the 2 locations and approximate spawn locations in each.
http://imgur.com/KiDFBiu
Melee would farm a lot better with blue spawns. Ranged with low damage or taunts could do either really well.

A clever and fast way to find items for disenchant and make hypnotic dust and also farm embersilk cloth for your tailoring is doing Grim Batol when you are level 90. I did it with my elemental shaman twice in half and hour and took 128 Embersilk cloth and many items to disenchant. What you got to do is take one dragon at the start and half kill as many as the mobs as you can. Then it will be easier to kill them. Good luck :)

Verlok Stand in Deepholm (approx. 71, 26) is still tops. If u are farming cloth, bring
寻宝药水
and bring a tailor, No tailor? Raise one....Not sure what bolts go for elsewhere, but on Proudmoore they fluctuate between 12-20 gold
each
. It pays to have a tailor. As of today, I was able to stuff these numbers into my bags in 28 minutes. I have no patience to stay and wind the same path for an hour till the potion wears off, so just double these numbers and you have a roundabout average for what can actually be gained in 60 minutes.
Update 8/3/15: Bolts are at 15g each on Proudmoore and now, if we play our cards right, we never have to pay real money again. Time to farm a little. 25 minutes, alone with no interruptions. Looted 532 e-silk, 10 greens, 2 pyrite ore, 8 elementium ore, and 44 assorted volatiles. Last check was March '15. Back then I farmed 20 minutes and scored only 387 e-silk.
My tailor didn't yet have the patterns acquired through the
熔火前线
dailies, so I decided to complete that arduous task, but got some benefit from it. Bring a clothie and
寻宝药水
, of course, to where a large population of
烈焰德鲁伊
around 71, 43. Go to the middle of Wildflame Point, between the pillars, and bring all druids to you. When they die, loot....Embersilk does not drop like rain like it does with the Troggs at Verlok Stand, but if you are in the area, you might as well take advantage. I farm there for like 10 minutes at a time before I get sick of DOTting and having them fall dead at my feet. I get around 100 Embersilk in that time.
In reply to ThrallScream and the possibility of a nerf to the drop rate of
烬丝布
, I had to check right away as this is a large part of my bank roll for cata crafting and/or just selling the bolts. I didn't have an hour or even 30 minutes to spare, but had enough time to confirm that there is still a LOT of e-silk available @ Verlok Stand. Farming in Proudmoore late morning server time for just 10m and 9s, I was able to grab the following: 203
烬丝布
with quite a bit of that coming from
小巧的财宝箱
, 9 each of
燃铁矿石
and
源质矿石
, and 19 assorted volatiles. If extrapolated out to 60 minutes, that's 200 x 6 which comes out to 1200 cloth/ 5 cloth equals 240 bolts which =........still a lot of gold....so no nerf from my experience as yet.
Thrallscream, below, is correct about Grim Batol....If you have the right help (pots and occupation) then the cloth drops. But I am still having great success at Verlok Stand and cant seem to ever have it to myself....so others are also doing well...not sure why some are not as prosperous there.

Leveling my tailoring, I came here to get a read on the best farming spots for this. At the time I started, the best place according to the comments seemed to be the Obelisk of the Moon in Uldum. I tried that for a few hours, but didn't seem to be getting the high droprates of cloth others were reporting. I moved on and continued questing and discovered the Highbank in Twilight Highlands.
The intro quest has you kill 10 Horde Invaders of the Highbank (axebite infantry). They drop comparatively large numbers of cloth, especially compared to the Obelisk of the Moon, at least for me (at least 1 cloth if not 2 per mob averaged out). They are relatively close together, so you can round up many at a time, and AoE them down as a group. Their respawn is less than a minute, and you have the alliance NPCs there making the mobs you're killing start off at less than full health. This is the best farming spot for embersilk I've seen yet, plus every 10-15 mobs I pick up a nice green to DE.
Edit
- to confirm and make clear that this spot is phased, as others report. Once you have completed the Introductory quests to clear the fort of horde and blow up the Zeppelin, the horde in the area phase out and are no longer available. I purposefully left the highlands uncompleted on my tailor alt so I could come back and farm here, though that obviously isn't an option for many. Sorry for the initial confusion.

Well heck! I've gone 3 days in a row and can confirm that the Makers Ascent in Uldum (to the N/E of Obelisk of the Moon) has been nerfed. Previously I could count on at least 5-6 stacks in 20 minutes of farming these stairs. This is my third day in a row of making exactly two passes of the mobs each day and I have 3 stacks + 7 cloth for my efforts. Respawn rate is the same as before, but they are dropping significantly less cloth. I am a demon lock and Yes, I am a tailor, and no, I did not use any potions.
Inside the obelisk... in the Chamber of the Moon I found the drop rates are similar to those previously reported, so at least it wasn't a complete waste.
Edit #1 -
6/29/14: In search of new spots I headed off to Highbank in Twilight Highlands (previously mentioned with possibilities) and stopped along the way at the
Twilight Gate.
.. the Ogre camp just over the border from Loch Modan, southern tip of the zone near Crushblow and found one entire pass of the camp netted just under 5 stacks. 2nd pass through - exactly the same... 5 stacks. Respawn rate is decent - once completed the camp, back to start and mobs had respawned. Turns out Highbank is only for those who haven't completed this starting zone - no more mobs in Highbank for me. I'll continue to update as I research more.

Molten Front
,
烈焰德鲁伊
at
(71, 38)
This may not be the easiest place to get to since it requires completing a questline to open the
Molten Front
, but if you already have access to this area then there's a pretty decent spot for getting some quick Embersilk.
The mobs in question are
烈焰德鲁伊
. These are scattered around The Widow's Clutch, but there is a group of four of them at
(71, 38)
next to a large floating orb (on the zone map this looks like a little circle with four dots around it). What makes these guys special is that as soon as they are all dead, 1-2 of them will
immediately
respawn, so that there is always at least one alive.
If you stay near the orb you can hit them with ranged attacks, or run around and melee them. In addition there are a few other Druids walking and flying around that you can tag pretty easily.
I spent 10 minutes farming these guys on my tailor, a 565 Ret Paladin with Cloth Scavenging, and got these drops:
171
烬丝布
12
催眠之尘
from disenchanting greens
1 BoE blue (
灵魂之恸
)
about 40 gold in vendor trash
many many
酸酸的青苹果
(they eat healthy)
Given how easy these guys are and how fast they respawn, this spot seems pretty nice -- even moreso with the apparent nerfs to other Embersilk farming locations.
Edit:
I realized today that these druids can also drop
小巧的财宝箱
while you're under the effect of
寻宝药水
. They can contain quite a bit of extra Embersilk, some Volatile crafting mats which are still fairly valuable, and gold. Definitely worth it if you're going to be farming for a while.
Edit the second:
This spot is even better after the stat squish of 6.0.2. The druids are easily one-shot by any ability (and mowed down by the DPS legendary cloak proc), and Embersilk now stacks to 200. In about 20 minutes of farming I got over 400 cloth.

If you're a tailor looking to farm some of this, as stated Tol Barad is an excellent place to do so. The Relentless front features several level 85 mobs fighting each other and as such running through them and just spamming a damage over time ability seems to kill them no problem.
It's important that you DoT the other one that it's fighting before one of them dies, otherwise, they will be unhittable for a brief moment (half a second) and reset aggro (and get full health). Not a huge deal, but it can throw off momentum if you're looking to speed farm like i was.
I found it was best to loot every 2 or 3rd round. It's recommend you have lots of extra bag space for junk (like all other cloth farming sprees) and a portable vendor such as jeeves or a travelers tundra mount to keep bags clear during extended farming periods.
If you're really looking to accelerate your findings, try a potion of treasure finding. it yeilds a chance to get a small treasure chest that usually contains some cloth.
Happy hunting!

I needed Cata cloth & DE materials for my alt and found that many spots had been nerfed. Also AH prices are out of whack or there simply isn't any available. So I tested the Twilight Gate in the Twilight Highlands. My character was a lvl 90 horde tailor (warlock). I was grouped with an enchanter. In an hour I got
54 Tiny Treasure Chests
1610 Embersilk Cloths (247 from Treasure Chests)
64 Hypnotic Dust (from all greens incl. treasure chests)
21 Greater Celestial Essences + 1 Lesser
I had 2,5 royal satchels empty, so I wasted some time on mailing a first batch of cloth and enchanting materials with MOLL-E, and for the second batch I had to go empty my bags to Bloodgulch that apparently was the closest horde mailbox. So I'd say I wasted at least 5 minutes, probably more, as I also had to relog the enchanter from another computer etc. Overall it's a good place to farm cloth after all the nerfs. I got disappointingly low amount of enchanting materials, so many greens only gave 1 dust even with the guild perk. But at least you get the cloth to make something you can DE.
I had enemy nameplates on so I could easily see how many had spawned in a group. I just went around the place, clearing groups that had close to all the spawns up. I skipped the groups that only had 2-3 respawns to allow them to respawn, because it was a lot more efficient to kill 6 than 2 in one key press.

Another particularly good spot I found to farm Embersilk cloth was in Rustberg Village in Tol Barad by the docks. As you will notice, there are 2 peers that head out into the water with 3 Rustberg Fisherman on each peer and 1 on a dock between them.
Kill both groups and as one group dies the other will spawn. I actually think this is quicker for farming Embersilk.

Just wanted to point out that Potion of Treasure Finding does NOT work in Tol Barad. I went there today to farm after discovering that the troggs in deepholm no longer drop cloth. I am NOT a tailor so knew the drop rate wouldn't be high for me. I was farming on the Restless Front and getting 1 or 2 cloth here and there. Remembered I had a potion and used it. The drop rate did not increase and I did not get any treasure chests. After hovering over my "buff" it shows what zones that it works in and Tol Barad isn't one of them. It does work in all other cata zones though (Uldum, Mt. Hyjal, etc.).
Also, Obelisk of the Moon is not a good place to try to farm if you have completed the quest line that injures the dragon that flies around there. After you get to that point all mobs are gone. There is nothing to kill to farm for cloth. I went over there in hopes of better drops after reading about it on here but everything outside was dead and when I went into the chambers it was completely empty.

Tried the Molten Front - Druid of the Flame farming spot with a potion. And seeing those numbers you guys got, there must have been a NERF since then. In 2 hours of straight afk farming those 4 NPCs that keep respawning, I "only" got about 30 stacks, which is REALLY low considered the time spent there.
Maybe you have to be a tailor to get those amazing drop rates, but as a non-tailor, the drop rate is really low.
Other places in Deepholm etc. a tailor can farm like 8 stacks in 10 min (atleast what this random guy told me he did).

The Restless Front on Tol Barad Peninsula is pretty nice, provided you have
Potion of Treasure Finding
and
Cloth Scavenging
.
Ideally, you'll have the place to yourself and will be free to meander around the area comitting ghost genocide for the next hour. There's not much here in the line of strategy, considering their health is often very low, but a mouseover macro is helpful for tagging ghosts, if you have any ranged spells. This is the one I was using, if you're curious:
#showtooltip ice lance
/cast
ice lance
I didn't bother keeping track of exactly what I got to drop, as I was more focused on getting as many kills as I could, but ended up with 895 Embersilk Cloth and 18 various green quality items, which was actually just enough to push me all the way through Cataclysm tailoring. My 54 slots of bag space had been reduced to 0 by the end of this, so leave whatever you don't need behind.

For 85 characters
:
Tol Barad is a great spot indeed (especially the Restless Front). But it's also really boring: mobs do respawn fast, but not really close from one another and as a result, you'll spend much time running from a group to another.
For 90 characters
:
Forget Tol Barad and head for
normal Grim Batol
. The vast majority of mobs there are humanoids and have a decent chance of dropping 2 or 4
烬丝布
. A full clear takes around 10 mn and awards between
20 and 25
烬丝布卷
, plus a healthy amount of grey / green items.
The only downside of Grim Batol is the long road to get back to the entrance. But there is a way around, at least if you are as lazy as me: just disconnect, play another toon for 5 mn (or come here on wowhead and leave a comment :p), and then reconnect your previous char. Upon reconnection, he/she will be automatically ported back to the entrance: so you only have to cross the instance portal, sell all the junk in your bags, reset the instance and you're good to go in again.
Edit: it may be obvious, but I cannot help advising you to come with a tailor.
布匹搜寻
plays a huge role in the cloth collecting and without it, you will never near the 20-25 bolts mentioned above.

With potion + full clear on 25 + no profession perks = 20 mins (killed all bosses again), 130 embersilk.
As you can see, there is time to run it again with the potion buff still effective if you have the container space or can sell quick. Well worth the time.
Ignore the old info on the
Restless Front
, that's been nerfed horribly.

For farming embersilk, I would like to recommend Twilight Gate, south of Victors Point, in Twilight Highands.. It is a situation where you can use the Potion of Treasure Hunting to get the tiny treasure chests that have some good loot.

Today I went to Verlok stand, The Restless Front on Tol Barad Peninsula, Rustberg Village, Bastion of Twilight, And got a total of 105 Cloth. This was over 20 min farming in each spot. So in over 2 hours I got 105 cloth. Now i dont know why but thats really a pathetic amount. I am getting no where near the amounts being mentioned here. Next I will be going to Grim Batol, Hopefully that will yield more results.

I just tried Heroic Shadowfang Keep. Enter, pull all Zombies/Ghuls mobs BEFORE prison cutscene, kill all of them with aoe, pick up ~25 embersilk, leave instance, reset. do over and over.

Level 100 Druid / Enchanter / Taylor
Just ran Grim Batol for the umphteenth time.
At my level - Grim Batol is a breeze. Each Mob members is a single hit, the sub-bosses are 2 hits and the Bosses are 3 hits for my cat.
For these runs I normally run it to the end / Teleport to Moonglade for trash removal / Teleport back / Log out for 5 / Repeat until I'm full.
The run took 20 minutes.
I gained 46G 42S 28C before Moonglade / an additional 39G 53S 66C for the trash / OR / 85G 95S 94C Total
I also picked up:
120 Embersilk Cloth
2 Elementium Lockboxes
3 Soul Bonded items and 11 Non
The Lockboxes I can't touch so I dump them into my Guilds Bank for someone who can.
As a general guide - I value the Non-Soul Bonded items at 50% Market value which makes it easy to decide where they'll go. It varies but this time: A/H 1/2Market = 483G (hope they sell) / Disenchanting = 142G (maybe) / and the Vendor = 47G.
Of those - only the vendor is guaranteed so the run actually made 132G with the possibility of a 625G Bonus.
But then again - It isn't for the gold.
The goal is getting over 350 Embersilk Cloth or 70 Bolts of Embersilk.
That equals about 14 Embersilk Bags an hour.
If only Hypnotic Dust could be farmed.

Farming is easy for me at Level 100 - but for those who want to farm Embersilk Cloth but aren't that high try this,
The Elementium Depths is a mine in the Lower Left corner of the Twilight Highlands.
It contains Minors and their Orge Supervisors and a bug you can ignore.
The Minors are a little hard to spot and tend to be out of the way but the Supervisors are dead center on the path down. I generally only kill the Supervisors and leave the Minors alone except when they are attacking me. Both of them drop Embersilk Cloth but it is faster to run all the Supervisors down as you are going to the bottom. Cross the bridge and waste a minute or two killing the Elemental (doesn't drop anything) and the few Minors at the bottom - then start your way back up again. By that time - nearly all of the Supervisors will have regenerated.
Top to bottom and back takes about 7 or 8 minutes unless you get lost (not bad but very possible) and pays about 10G with 25 Embersilk Cloth.
If that is too booring for you :)
Just a little North of Cushblow and West of Dunwald Ruins is the site of the Bloodeye Clan and the Etin they have helping them. Both of them pay out in Embersilk Cloth (and very little else) and regenerate very quickly. Even killing them with a single strike - I never run out of more to kill. The only problem is that it's easy to enter areas where the NPCs are a little tougher or where you are chasing down NPCs that don't drop anything worth picking up.
I picked up over 100 Embersilk Cloth in about 3/4s of an hour.
Enjoy

Has anyone else noticed that embersilk cloth doesnt drop anymore in Heroic The Stonecore? I run that dung daily on 6 toons for the mount and used to get about 60 a run. Now I'm getting nothing. Been like that for around 6 days or so.

Best Embersilk cloth farming spot I found is in firelands and can be done easily as lvl 90 ranged class. Mobs respawn as fast as you can turn an do a 360 Killing mobs as u turn.
In the video linked below my I start at the SW AH and from there I travel to the firelands spend just shy of 10 mins killing looting and return to the SW AH all in less then 15 mins.
5319g 67s 29c at the start
5370g 47s 53c after looting corpses earning 50g 80s
5427g 4s 4c after selling 56g 57s worth of junk items
215 pieces of cloth acquired. Making 43 Bolts of cloth
AH prices at the time were minimum 1g 8s 20c for one piece of ember silk cloth.
232g in cloth alone
AH prices at the time for bolts of cloth were minimum 6g 9s 90c for one piece of bolt of ember silk cloth.
296g if sold as bolts of cloth
Bringing the total potential gold earned per 10 min of farming to roughly
50g 80s corpse loot
56g 57s vendor trash
296g bolts of cloth
-----------
403g 37s total
over 2000g+ per hour of farming
2:30 min travel time to get to farm spot from SW AH
9:10 min farming
1:37 min travel time back to SW AH
Round trip time of 13:17 min.

I went to tol barad, the restless hill...the undead here DO drop it and it's a nice circle to gather up a fair group and burn them down. I went on my 90 shadow priest , so could still aggro fair enough without too much of an effort. Just tried not to go too far so aggro didn't drop, depending on spot...you can get a good group and fry them fast. Respawn isn't bad, they are usually popping back up by time you make a circle all around.
I do not know why they think this cloth has to be such a pain in the wahoo to get, but tol barad seems to be the place. I didn't see any mention of the restless hill, but apologize if it has been. I tried the other locations in this area suggested and though the cloth dropped fair, it was much easier to gather and burn in this specific location for me.
Happy hunting!

I came here to confirm the nerf that I suspected to Grim Batol. One run there today on my tailor yielded 22 cloth and no greens - MUCH less than the last time I ran it before WoD's release.
Not seeing any new information since 6.1, I decided to try the BoT trash before returning from Twilight Highlands. Just clearing the trash before Halfus (so I can reset) on 25N yielded 88 cloth, two greens and a Crossfire Carbine. My tailor is a lvl 100 arcane mage with an iLvl of 623 equipped and on 25N, all I needed was Arcane Explosion. I also noticed that the Phase Twisters never once attempted to twist my phase, so I stopped bothering with LoS. This put me at about 5 mins per clear.
I will update this with a larger sample after I run a few more times.
***EDIT: I only had time for 5 more trash clears tonight and below is the tally from those runs.
Run 1: 93 cloth, 3 greens
Run 2: 68 cloth
Run 3: 72 cloth, 3 greens
Run 4: 106 cloth, 2 greens and a Soul Blade
Run 5: 111 cloth and Chelley's Staff
This was a grand total of 538 Embersilk Cloth for about 30 mins of clearing trash and running outside to reset. GL wth your farming!

2 Elementium Lockboxes
2508 Embersilk Cloth
bunch of volatiles, ores, 1 blue

So it seems Grim Batol has been nerfed to hell and doesn't yield cloths like it used to, two clears and 30ish minutes later, I had 12. However, a run through nearby BoT got me 40 in about 10 minutes, so depending on how many your after, choose farming grounds accordingly.

If you are level 100, I have 5 (maybe 6?) words for you: 25-man Heroic Bastion of Twilight.
This place is insane for ember silk cloth farming. Soon many people will catch on and this item will be worthless. To farm enter the instance (making sure its set to 25-man heroic) and clean up the first room of mobs. Loot them all and then exit the dungeon. Right click on your character portrait and press reset all instances. Go back in and kill all mobs there again. Repeat. I have gotten 300 ember silk in around 15 minutes. By the way, you are limited to 6-10 (for some reason it is different for different people) instance resets before you are locked out for an hour. So go do something else in that time.
Happy Farming!

16 embersilk scraps
2 greens

3 sparking oasis waters

30g 94s 57c
I am a tailor with the northrend cloth scavenging, I went to rustberg village, to the port there, and just when from the three person killing the rustberg fishermen, occational suspicios village, and rustberg bandit, with very little wait. ( i do believe that is do to the fact they are quest mobs and have a very HIGH respawn timer, less than a minute on the fishermen any how.)
Happy Hunting All, hope this help everything looking at still getting embersilk.
(random info, im level 94 and with well rested and the excess potion of accelerated learning youll get 10 xp per kill.)

I found the best place to farm is the first hallway in Bastion Of Twilight. I went in with my lvl 100 Retri pally and put it on 25 HC. From the entrance to the first boss. Take out all the trash and you have around 85 - 100 Embersilk Cloth. Just walk out, reset the instance and walk back in. After that it's just repeat.

I can confirm bastion of twilight is still the best place to farm embersilk
It took me 16 mins to finish bastion of twilight with a total loot of 115 embersilk.
I tried to farm in tol barad (any humanoid npc in tol barad) and i got 370 embersilk in 50 mins.
I tried in twilight headlands i got 418 embersilk in in 50 mins. Was farming Axebite Marine, along the costline.
If we break it down this is what you get.
Embersilk looted her min:
Bastion of twilight: 7.3
Tol Barad: 7.4
Twilight headlands: 8.4
The reason i say bastion of twilight is the best place to farm is because its a raid. You loot more gold, from mobs. Also if your an enchanter you get 5 to 6 epics. You can disenchant the epics into sha crystals and sell them in the AH for 50 gold each. I also looted 300 gold in the raid. In Tol Barad and Twilight Headlands, i looted about 100 to 200 in gold.

I picked up 23

s, for a simple profit of 146g sans items.
I strongly advise getting
https://mods.curse.com/addons/wow/lootappraiser
(Loot Appraiser) to help track data concerning farming methods.
As you can see, I looted 41 items (2 were JC quest items) and 2
护佑肩铠
were the notable drops, with a Looted Item Value of 4581g.
So overall: 4,727g/hr + cloth turning into
烬丝背包
s.
Netted 1542 cloth.

25 Man Heroic Bastion of Twilight is still a great place to farm. Get ~100 cloth per reset, plus a few greens to get Hypnotic dust (assuming you are farming to make bags).

If you are Alliance there is another place that is great: Highbank in Twilight Highlands IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE OPENING QUESTS!
The reason being, before you do the quests that rid Highbank of the Horde, there are dozens of Horde NPC's fighting the Alliance NPC's all around Highbank and they drop lots of embersilk, along with a nice amount of gold and junk you can vendor. I also got a few greens along the way to disenchant into dust which you also need if you're making bags. I generally make a couple of full clears including the ships which nets me at least 150 cloth before I go run the first room of BoT.

If you are farming embersilk cloth, and also looking for weapons and armor to disenchant into hypnotic dust, try Bastion of Twilight, at the SW border of Twilight Highlands, at 34.2, 77.9
The entrance is at the top of a tall purple tower, so you will need flying. Guys inside are tough, also.
Just clear the first room you enter, and then leave and reset by right clicking on your portrait. Repeat as needed.

Dungeons and Tol Barad may be good for getting mounts, toys, pets and a few transmog items, but not so much for cloth any longer. What I chose to do is test Bastion of Twilight. First I took my decently geared 103 MM hunter (just came back to the game after quitting during MoP) and did the first sweep before the first boss 10 times. I had it set on Heroic 25 man. I got 397 cloth, 5 epics (of which I equipped 2 for transmog purposes), 3 lockboxes, and about 18-20 greens. It took me about 25-30 minutes including traveling time. Just from loot and selling anything I equipped, I made about 600g.
Then I decided to try it on my Priest with tailoring. I've basically just taken her to Draenor and done enough quests to get a level 2 garrison for leveling professions and mats. She's level 97, because of time, not because I've actively been questing with her. Her gear is mostly SMV stuff. 25 man was a little much, but 10 man was perfect. Again, I ran it 10 times. I looted 2 purples, about 10 greens, 704 cloth and made about 294 gold. Hope this helps anyone looking to farm cloth who's at a bit higher level.
Edit for Patch 7.3.5
The mobs are not only harder to kill (although still fairly quick), the cloth drop rate has gone down. I ran this 10 times on each setting on my Priest who has tailoring. This is what I got:
Heroic 25 man
522 cloth
19 greens
9 purples
5 lock boxes
Normal 25 man
525 cloth
16 greens
5 purple
2 lock boxes
Heroic 10 man
379 cloth
8 greens
2 purples
1 lock box
Normal 10 man
426 cloth
6 greens
3 purples
This is still one of the best farming spots for cloth, just not as good as it used to be.

Embersilk Cloth Farming Guide
One of the best farming spots for Embersilk Cloth is at
暮光堡垒
Raid in Twilight Highlands. (I did it on 25 Man Heroic)
(31,75. Entrance is on the floating rock atop the spire.)
Like the guide says, enter the first room in the BoT raid, and kill the mobs that are in the room, exit the instance, reset the instance, and go back in.
You can do this for 10 times in an hour as it is limited to 10 resets per hour.
The mobs can be downed pretty quickly. It took me about 2-3 minutes per run on my level 100 hunter.
Waited for the 1 hour lock to expire and did the same run for a few hours.
I averaged around 900-1000 Embersilk Cloths, a few greens, a few blues and a few purples in 30 minutes!
Did this is WITHOUT the
寻宝药水
or any trinkets, although I had the tailoring buff Cloth Scavenging I think.
The spot still works as of patch 7.2.5. and is highly recommended. Just hopes Blizzard doesn't nerf it like Grim Batol.

Updated Nov19
Good news: There is better spot to farm Embersilk than BoT and one alternative while you are locked to the raid.
Bad news: is not for everyone
Note: all info in this post is without using any pot to increase your loots, if you use those your loots will be higher.
If you read all the comments you will probably go to
The Bastion of Twilight
in Twilight Highlands.
Even when this beautiful place was nerfed, doing this raid (Summer2019) in 25heroic, killing all trash once you zone in and going out, reset instance, and going in again will bring you 480 cloth if you are not a tailor and 540 if you are. Will take you 20min and after that you are locked for 40min, until one hour is gone till the moment you started.
So in this point your only chance is to bring a new character and do BoT again. Because i can confirm you that heroic dungeons were nerfed and now brings 30cloth per run, and Tol Barad is also crap not as in the past.
But, but, but, i will give you the best two options to continue farming while you wait for the raid time reset.
FIRST OPTION is in the same map than BoT in Highbank, the castle-isle souteast in
Twilight Highlands
there is the best spot to farm Embersilk, IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE OPENING QUESTS FOR THIS ZONE.
Because then you will find that place full of Horde Npc´s fighting the Alliance NPC's all around, lot of em in packs in a small zone.
Doing a full clear to this place will bring you 60-70cloth, in 4 minutes. And once you ends, all the mobs will be up again. Note that not all npcs drops the same amount, some drops zero and some drops five cloth, so dont let a single mob alive, kill all in the yard, then go into the ship and pass the ship to go down the tower.
Why this is great and could be even better than BoT itself?. The net amount is the same or a bit better than BoT in the same time, cause takes 4 mins to clear, about the same than one ToS room clear.
But this places has not limit, is a never stop!. And will be probably only for you because as you are phased, the players who did the quests there will no share the place with you.
Combine BoT with Highbank while you are locked is a good option too, so you dont go burned to repeat the same zone.
SECOND OPTION is in Deepholm near VEROK STAND up on the east, (70,24) just over the verokstand letters in the map. There are two platforms. One is more like a bridge and another is smaller over a big stalagmite. Many
维罗克蘑菇看护者
and the droprate from those is not bad. Those 2 platforms are a small zone, you will clear it fast and then wait for respawn (is fast, less than a min) and repeat. This will bring you 400-420 cloth in 20 min as tailor.
Combine BoT with VerokStand while you are locked is a good option also if you cant do first option.
Have fun and upvote this comment on the arrows in the left if you found it helpful

石头穴居人伏击者
are an excellent source of
烬丝布
as of BFA. I'm seeing 1-4 cloth per trogg on my 110 tailor warlock. Also try the
石头穴居人挖掘者
to the northwest. The Ambushers to the southeast have larger groups but are more spread out. There aren't as many Diggers to the northwest but they're closer together and will leap to your location on agro, so perhaps easier to AOE down once tagged. Make a circuit of both and reap lots of cloth.
From the Deepholm central spire, head southwest and up to the far wall near the zone ceiling, to the area labeled "Stonehearth".

Re-confirmed... as of 01/01/21 - 5 runs 25H - Front Room Trash 225 Embersilk, 4 Epic BOE, 4 Greens, buncha crap grey. As a "new" lvl 51 DK - Those orbs (Phased Burn) was hitting me for an avg of 700 a tick - they hurt. I guess someone at Blizz thinks they are funny. Key is Orb stops when all are dead in its circle - so kill quick. You can tag one and run back to entrance hall (out of range for orb) too.

I reached the instance lockout after about 10 minutes killing the trash at the entrance of 25H Bastion of Twilight and resetting. This gave me 918 embersilk cloth.
As a 222 item level death knight the orb damage is meaningless. Just collect everything and kill them in one pile.
