Was just curious would the enchant Mending be useful for a tanking weapon, how much healing does the user receive and how often does it trigger? Currently am using the new weapon chain add on made by blacksmiths. WoW Hero's says thats not good enough. LoL..

Pretty disappointed in this one, might help if youre gearing into heroics (can proc on cleaves on trash) but for raid bosses I'd even take a pyrium weapon chain for the 40 hit rating above this...

In wotlk it was similar enchants usable for tanking. Those who heals the tank are ok for 5manns hc and trash i guess. Just starting in raids the hit on weaponchain can come in handy - specially when you need to interrupt etc.
As soon as you get an epic weapon go for Windwalk imo :)

I finally got around to testing this out on my enhancement shaman. Dual wielding this and going all out. It procced about 14 times with 3 crits and rest normal.Healed me a total of over 12k in a 1 minute fight with a target dummy.
Had a Avg. heal of 793 and a Avg. crit heal of 1253. Imo i like it. But would rather have landslide instead.

At level 83 I am getting average 1k heals from this enchant. I tank with Seal of Insight, which procs 1.5k heals at this level. Throw in Word of Glory, and I do most of my own healing... for now. We will see what happens when I get into heroics.
I am looking hard at Windwalk, but 600 dodge rating subject to diminshing returns does not seem OP either.

I'm an 85 feral druid tank with quite a few epic pieces of gear. I bought this enchant and tested it out on a dummy. I have about 160k health in bear form unbuffed. It apparently does not scale with hp or what level you are because it STILL only healed me for 700-800 health. It procced quite a bit but it's not a huge amount. I suppose over a long span of time it might add up and be somewhat useful, but there's probably better enchants out there if you're looking for the best. Also nurturing instinct did not increase it at all as a side note. Looks like it doesn't scale with anything to me.

Bought this from AH for 49G on my retri paladin (there were others selling it for 400g or so) so I decided that I'll buy it, as it has a rejuvenation and it was really cheap :O But I'm not sure, should I actually use it when I get to 85 or not?

Ok, for all of you looking to the comments to see if you should get this, then read this.
This enchant heals for you around 700-900. It can crit. It doesn't scale with your level, health, or anything pretty much.
It WILL, however, increase with effects such as talents and spells that increase healing done to you by XX%.
From a Prot pally point of view, if you can't afford Windwalk, you should get this. Usually if you can't afford windwalk then that means your gear probably won't be the best. And if that is true it means you will take a little more damage. Which in turn means healers have to heal you a little bit more and use more mana. This enchant will help out with that problem, even if it's just a slight heal.
Also, on a side note... I wouldn't recommend getting this if you aren't a tank. The heals are nice, but if you aren't a tank then the only way you would really want to use this is in PvP, and Avalanche costs roughly as much and it's a much better enchant for PvP.

Now, for the healing procs:
65 Drainlife hits (No crits)
63 Mending hits (3 Crits)
Average heal of Drainlife was 9411. Overall healing was 611736.
Average heal of Mending was 890, the average crit being 1758. Overall healing was 58651
Make of it what you will. At this point I am block capped, so Windwalk is only a speed boost to me (although a frequent one). Landslide would also seem a likely choice, as more damage is more damage (Or AP in this case). From a pure "survivability" standpoint, I like to think that every single little thing counts, so I shall stick with Mending for at least one or two raid nights, once again out of curiosity in an actual raid environment.
Some minor things to note are that since no blocking occurred on the target dummy, there was no chance to gain Reckoning, which I could see drastically altering (or perhaps not at all) the number of hits. The healing numbers are most likely affected by any increased healing/healing taken talents in the Paladin Protection tree.

I have performed a test on this enchantment, and it seems that with or without spell-power or resistance debuffs to enemies, this enchantment heals generally the same amount.
I've found that this spell has a 6-7% chance to proc
, and I apologize but I cannot translate that, in terms of RPPM.
When doing the math, one would find that after exactly 1,000 hits, this enchantment would proc about ~115~ times, should attacks successfully land (I am unsure if I included misses/dodges/parries/et cetera into calculations).
It heals for an average ~746-855~ as regular hits, and ~1500-1700~ as critical procs.
I am unsure if character critical strike rate or intellect/agility can affect the proc power. Also, I am unsure if there is a hidden global cooldown, or if it will proc multiple times through Area-of-Effect damaging skills (multiple procs possible per attack, if it can hit multiple times).
This is great for somebody who only can, or wants to level up to level 80 and can only get Wrath of the Lich King gear/enchantments, and works decently a little way through Cataclysm, up until about level 84 (more or less).
As a solo quester this helps (support heals if you are lacking), or as a tank. Perhaps character who likes to grind and kill multiple mobs at once could utilize it, given it would only help if it is true that multiple hits from one attack proc multiple heals.
If somebody could perfom tests to check if this enchant procs on Area of Effect damaging skills, that could indicate that this enchant is extremely useful for tanks like Paladins and Druids, who could use plenty of Area of Effect Damaging skills for threat/heals/extreme damage.
The reason this may not be preferable for people further into Cataclysm is that what heals DO proc (on quite a rare occasio, I might add) aren't too huge to be of notice. While it may act as a close-call assistance to keep you from wiping in a split-second-situation, considering the single-target proc rate, it may not be very effective at all.
It would most definitely be of much more value if usable during Burning Crusade content,
but due to the fact it requires a weapon with item level 300+, it seems only raid-running level 80s to Cataclysm players can make use of it.
If not for that requirement coming into play, we could hold this enchant into accountability for keeping characters alive in any situation in general.
I hope I've provided some useful information, seeing as I went through the trouble to work on a lot of this myself. For those of who have seen the enchantment's proc tooltip effect,

Edit 1: The part of my post involving the healing procced by this enchantment is potentially obsolete. I have not been online in a while, have cancelled my World of Warcraft Subscription, and never bought Warlords of Draenor. Subsequently, I cannot determine (personally) whether or not health scaling has affected the power of this enchantment, or if it remains the same being that it is a low level enchantment. To top it all off, I am unsure if Multistrike (a rather high level character stat) would influence proc rate of this enchantment, though what high level would use it?
Edit 2: Item Level Requirements were removed at some point, only item level caps were applied. Portion with Item Level Requirements have been struck-through.
Edit 3: Very important - I believe I initially posted this comment a long while back. I tested this on a Training Dummy specifically, and I believe I was on a Druid with one attack per second (can't remember his level), in regular form (not Cat or Bear form). I was running a Balance build, which means my Dexterity couldn't have been high (ninety or so), as well as with minimal Hit Chance or Expertise (I might have had some base Hit Chance, can't remember). Because of the majority of this, my results were biased.
For one thing, Training Dummies have been modified in their resistances a few times throughout the many patches and expansion packs, along with most monsters in-game.
Subsequently, I may have been lower than, higher than, or closer to the Training Dummies' level (at the time) which could have caused for a higher OR lower hit chance (depending on which it was), influencing the chance of the enchantment's ability to proc. It could have been highly realistic, or very unrealistic.
On top that, I used a generic Training Dummy, and not an Elite/Boss Training Dummy, meaning I didn't need a higher amount of Hit Chance or Expertise to land attacks on the Training Dummy, which could again be realistic o unrealistic, depending on gameplay style and enchantment usage.
Edit 4: It appears that the enchantment was, indeed, modified to heal for less than it used to be able to. While the healing calculation is off, the proc rate should hopefully have remained the same. I will attempt to modify the critical-hit healing number to match the new healing value. The biggest issue now is the variability of the healing value, based off character level. I will attempt to figure out the scale of average healing to critical-hit healing, and apply the scale to each level's average healing, to give everybody a range/idea of the new healing values.

Tried it on a Paladin for twinking purposes @ level 15. It does about 120 healing per proc. Which is about 10% of my health currently. So not too bad, I'll probably use it for tanking dungeons :)
