Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
Ogre Pinata comes from the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)
Fields of Honor (
1/181 booster packs (speculative)
Fields of Honor booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $65 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $490.00
How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
(most information sourced from there), the expansion released on the 30th June 2009. Upperdeck have not specified any changes to the rarity of the three loots in this expansion (
Path of Cenarius
Magic Rooster Egg
). After the initial release rush, the price for this loot should steady at $40 USD.

Once destroyed it explodes and drops a large pile of
When Pink Gumball is eaten, player gains a buff that causes player to randomly blow bubbles.
Bubble buff lasts for 5 minutes.
Useable at any level and therefore available for twinks.
code in PTR 3.2 is 2222
If you want to see the Ogre Pinata in a video check out
about 30 sec into the vid you'll see it get killed.
Would've prefered a gnome pinata :) dont all horde's love gnomes?
A kobold pinata would be funnest, "Whack!" "You no touch candy!"
got 1 today after buying about 150 packs. I'm rather angry it's 100 charges and not just 30 min CD.
I'm not sure if it was recently patched or what, but I can confirm there is no longer a 100 limit on this ogre. I have used it well over 100 times so far and it has an unlimited charge.
Its Great to pop up with low levels around and watch them struggle to DPS it :).
Can be used by a holy paladin to judge on and gain haste from without having to hit a boss, unfortunately it is only once every 30 minutes however.
King Variann Wyrnn pinata ftw.
Alright, just to be fair, Garrosh Hellscream pinatas also.
If there was a Saurfang pinata, you'd be dropping the candy.
Goes extremely well with
Thought I might add a video of this item:
It's a bit of fun in raids and this and that, but more enjoyable to pop it near some lower levels and watch them dps it down :D
Me smash, you die :)
is quite funny, your drake makes big pink bubbles!
This item will be on Black Market Auction House for WoD.
I WILL CRUSH YOU, oh the irony
in 6.2, the Pinata npc created by this item now scales to lvl 100 with about 450k hp, making it a bit harder to break it open.
Since 6.2, the Ogre Pinata cannot be used in Raid Instances. Thank you Blizzard, this was a MUCH needed fix.
Finally the pinata's HP have been updated. It's currently level 100 with about 500k HP (or something along the lines), so it doesn't just pop from a single auto attack.
Here's to hoping that it'll be updated to level 110 with the release of Legion! And maybe make it usable in raids again, because that was the fun part about it. Providing your raid with bubble gum so they cannot claim they only kick asses because there's no bubble gum left. :P
You know, with patch 7.0.3 stealth nerfing the pooling of resources before boss pulls, why wasn't this changed back to being usable in instances?
Ogre Pinatas are no longer usable in dungeons as of 7.0.3
In case anyone comes here, yes this still shows up on the BMAH. I paid 50k for one, but that will be much different depending on your server's economy. The Ogre Pinata came out at level 120, and took a bit of effort for me to smash open on my ilevel 390ish Sub Rogue.
It drops a big pile of candy on the ground, of which you can hold one stack of twenty at a time. The candy gives you a bubble gum blowing effect. Once you use a piece, you can pick a piece up to put you back at twenty.
The pink gumballs are a conjured item, so they will disappear if you log off for 15 minutes. The pile of gum on the ground, and the broken pinata, stick around for what looked like one minute.
