Day of the Dead/Dia De Los Muertos
Of course there's the real-life source, but this also heavily reminds me of
which has elements of the holiday in its first chapter, especially the bread, and was my first encounter with this holiday as a European.
When Manny picks up additional bread, he says:
"I'll just take a little more bread, to honor the dead."
Zombies cannot live on brains alone.
A very intimidating hunk of bread. Knowing the culture i'd be kind of afraid to eat this bread.
Its mouth is stitched up, and it's a piece of bread.
An omen? Let's hope not.
The Ultimate diet food!- guaranteed not to kill you or your money back!*
*note: anyone attempting to acquire refund must be alive at the time of request, and have consumed no less than 15 pieces of this product- additional restrictions apply
The recipie is purchaced from vendors near any major-city grave yard during the Day of the Dead event.
Take note - if you are in Dalaran and want to make this recipe, there is no vendor in Dalaran that sells Ice Cold Milk.
The "ghostly fire" required to cook this is behind Catrina.
You can buy the milk at:
Can be purchased at 48, 80 in Orgrimmar.
First building on left as you enter Orgrimmar.
Simple flour will be in any vendor near the cooking trainer.
This food is not involved in any achievement, but does count in your "Tastes like Chicken"
Ok the Ghostly Cooking Fire is next to the NPC you dance with, and the bread is easy to make by visiting the Cooking Supplies vendor.
The reward is a non-combat pet which looks very cool, but only lasts for Day of the Dead.
Also I think you can only pick up the quest from your races home city, or Shattrath/Dalaran for all. Went to Orgrimmar on my Undead and couldnt pick it up, went to Undercity and got it. Went to Dalaran on my Dorf and it was there, then went to Ironforge and it was there too! :)
HAPPY DAY OF THE DEAD!
In order to get the pet:

Though this bread can only be made during the event, learning the receipe DOES count for the
This does count towards the Chef de Cusine achievement.
This bread is awesome, which is why they wont let us make it outside of this holiday =/
I still have my bread, and it works fine!
I stockpiled about 30 stacks. Guess I should have done more but meh.
I can now confirm that regardless of what the tooltip says (mine continue to say "Requires Day of the Dead"), they have remained in my possession and continue to work. I just consumed one and got the 15-minute Well Fed buff of "Stamina and Spirit increased by 25% of level".
It remains to be seen whether the error lies with the tooltip or the item itself. I suspect the tooltip, in light of
claim that his do not have the holiday requirement. Additionally, it would seem to make sense that a cooking recipe that we learn permanently (and indeed counts toward our recipe count) produces something that can be used at any time (even though it can only be made during a limited time).
Well I just ate it on nov 3 and it still works. Same with Macabre Marionette.
It is Nov. 29th, and this no longer works as it did previously. I have a bank tab full of them and when i take one out it just disappears.
in stormwind for the people that were looking around for the ghostly cooking fire by catrina and on the floor behind her and didnt see the tiny blue flames, there is one in front of each pillar of the building behind her.
