Compared with the T7.5 legs these are quite lacking because the +crit has been replaced with +hit. Hopefully the set 4 bonus is good enough to compensate, or the stats are changed to be more appropriate for the progressed DPS warrior.
Hit isnt worse than crit if u arent capped
Note that I said the progressed fury warrior, this is T8. Most of us are hit capped, and +hit is on every second piece of plate anyways. Only fools weight +hit at below soft cap values.
are able to swap out items to not beeing so.
This is a pain in the ass. It would be much easier to take the set 4 bonus if the T8 pieces had as little +hit/+expertise as possible and we acquired these stats from our accessories. Surely they can't intend for it to be that difficult to wear 4 pieces of tier. T8/T8.5 should be a clear upgrade to T7/T7.5 don't you think?
did u even compare strenght values of this legs and T7 legs ?
Yes, I did. These legs have about the same value as T7.5, yet they are a higher item value. The T7.5 and T8 are supposed to be close in their performance, but these T8.5 legs are at parity with the 7.5 legs. Even if you desired the expertise (there's not as much +exp as +hit on gear but it's not that hard to get) and weighted it the same as strength it would
not outperform T7.5 and other legs from naxx (weighting for expertise actually makes the T7.5 a slightly better choice for an expertise piece). I expected a lot more from legs that are in a higher tier bracket and of a higher item lvl. I reserve my right to complain, there are better options.
last time I checked my warriors main stat it was strenght
Check more frequently, crit is close in value to strength and it looks like armor penetration outperforms strength after 3.1 (
). Are you saying that people should waste rolls/DKP/gold on inferior gear because of strength increases?
While I agree the itemization on these pair of legs isn't exactly the best (socket bonus makes me want to cry) they are certainly far from useless and a large step up from 7.5 if you are below the hit cap, or need to meet it because of gearswaps etc. You will want to load up on ArP (armor penetration) on literally every slot that has it, and legs and shoulders are about the only slots that do not have any plate items of ilvl 226 that have armor penetration. So, while stacking up on ArP and Crit in literally every single slot you can think of, this leaves us with the neck, rings, trinkets, legs, shoulders, weapon(s) and gem slots to somehow meet the expertise and hit cap.
How the hell is this item not itemised correctly? Hit rating and expertise has got to come from somewhere, if all of your gear had +strength +crit and +arp then you would have no hit rating or expertise and it would all be for nothing. When choosing your gear my advice is to get the Full T8.5 as it seems to be fairly well rounded overall and then work the rest of your gear around it.
At the end of the day, if you've got to get these stats from somewhere it's not going to gimp you by picking up these legs and getting the strength, crit and arp from elsewhere. You could go and pick up the Plated Leggings of Ruination since they are really well itemised and have a higher item level than these but remember you'll have to make the stats up elsewhere.
People have got to learn to choose how to balance their gear correctly rather than going for the supposed "BiS". For example, if you start choosing a lot of leather your probally going to end up overstacking expertise and although the comparason websites such as maxdps will tell you it is better than the plate counterparts the truth is it's probally not if you're already capped for expertise. Hate to say it but the spreadsheet at
Is extremely useful for this.
Sorry for the half rant. Just annoyed with the people on wowhead moaning about poor itemisation on Ulduar gear.
