This is not for feral PvE tanks that are already crit capped through talents (Like SotF), it wont do you any more good. This IS helpful for PvP or perhaps even soloing as a non-feral specced druid.
(this is true unless it changes from its current PTR setup; like if this is just a PH until it turns out to be something better.)
EDIT: Supposed to be "Reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by 10% while Barkskin is active." currently it has a typo and says it reduces it by only 0%.
EDIT 2: Sorry, it's been changed to: "Reduces the chance you'll be critically hit by melee attacks by 25% while Barkskin is active." now.
This looks like a must-have glyph for caster druids in PvP situations.
Nothing like making crit-happy rogues and hunters lose half of their damage + some.
Or great for avoiding Ret Pally burst damage.
greatest glyph for PVP so far imo, 12 sec of almost crit immunity for Feral Druid is awsome, especially when u r stunned.
i have +8% from resil +6% from talents+25% this glyph so -39% crit for 12 sec is amazing if u ask me
u basicly immune to white atatcks from all classes except other druids, but not to specials such as Mutilate or Backstab and ny specials that have 40%+ chance to crit
All I have to say is mixed with new resto druid survivability in 3.1,
this glyph is fantastic.
I was saving a spot for it in my book until last night! This I believe paired with Swiftmend glyph are pivotal for restoration PvP -
if you are undergeared, however I still notice a drastic difference with 860 resilience. The third major glyph I believe is really personal preference. If Barkskin is available - GET IT!
My base resil yields me
reduction to be critically hit.
Every 1 minute my chance to be critically hit with MELEE is reduced by 35.48% using barkskin with the glyph.
Any melee in PvP gear won't have that much crit, and a very close gap to PvE gear, considering a lot of melee has 40%+ chance.
So yeah, basically immune. And if you can't keep yourself up through multiple DK's and pallies wailing on you with Barkskin active.. something is wrong!
Particularly useful with the new Resto talent Improved Barkskin, for near melee crit immunity, 20% damage reduction, and 90% dispelproof.
As much as I completely agree that this glyph is brilliant, resto druids can do without it in most situations.
If you're sitting on 700+ resilience as most PvP druids will be, and if you've got minimal hots on you vs. a rogue, you should stay up. From looking at top druids glyph choices on SK and opponents we've faced, not too many have this glyph.
Don't see this as an absolute must have for PvP even though it is quite nice.
How does this work in conjunction with rogue's cold blood? Has 75% chance or still 100%?
EVERYONE seems to think it reduces your opponents critical chance with 25% UNITS (as in a rogue having 30% crit, but only 5% crit vs. a druid with glyphed barkskin up).
But I'm thinking it might work in a way where it reduces the rogues chance to critically hit you by 25% (as the glyph states), making the rogue with 30% crit, have 22.5% crit against a druid with glyphed barkskin up.
(30 x 0.75 = 22.5)
I hope my post is understandable :P.
Can anyone confirm this?
Im assuming I won't get a reply in a long time, so I'll make a ticket when I get home and post the answer here laterz.
This is similar language to how the tank talents read, so I'd assume it would work similarly to them. That is, its actually 25%. As in, if you have a 25% chance to crit and hit a druid with this you have a 0% chance to crit. No real reason to think it would be otherwise. I know its high, but its also a cooldown and highly situational in use. Anything more than ~6% is pvp only, and there are abilities that make people immune to some type of damage for 12 seconds, eliminating the average pvp player's ability to crit for 12 seconds is perfectly balanced.
im tierd of everyone being confused by sloppy tooltip
here's how it works, target has X% crit chance, after u use it attacks done to you have X-25% chance (tested over years)
it works like that against all attacks exept the ones that make attacker's hit a guaranteed crit, against those hits the glyph has no effect
