With all the expertise rating on BS gear which can be used for tanking, it seems like Blizzard is trying to do away with (or significantly reduce the chance of) tanks getting parried, or at least giving them an option to eliminate the chance.
Spiked Deathdealers sounds like the more DPSy name of the two.
Does anyone have a source of the location of the plans? Is it a world drop, raid drop, or trainer... trained. I assume because of the stats, that it would be a raid drop, but I'm asking so I can play on getting. =)
My guess is that the plans for these and the LW plans will be dropping in Ulduar 10/25 (25 most likely), looking at the stats.
Wowhead now has the mats required to make.
From the shopping list I boldly deduce that its a craftable in the flavour of the TK/SSC/MH/BT items.
The give away is the as yet unknown final material of which six are needed.
I vote for "Titan Vortex" .
PS From the latest additions its most likely "Runed Orb" that is the as yet unknown reagent.
Does anyone know if the stats are really Dodge and Parry or like the plans
say Dodge and Expertise? (Personal hope is the latter.)
There's no two ways about this - these boots are
The plans drop from
in 25 man.
It is possible that it drops off every mob from Ulduar 25, similar to Sunwell patterns/etc.
EDIT: And XT-002
EDIT2: They seem to have a low (1-2%) chance of dropping from each boss in Ulduar heroic.
I'm so glad Blizzard added Craftable boots to Blacksmithing. I'd have hated to be able to craft a different item slot, IE legs, shoulder etc.
no one actually mentioned its looks! Now THESE I can call real boots! Not like those mail-look skiny boots.
BiS for all plate tanks.
It is a shame they finally introduced an exciting new plate boots model, just in time for Paladins to start wearing dresses that obstruct their awesomeness from being viewed.
WOW Thanks Blizz! Now my Armorsmithing is Definitely worthless.. I spent 2 weeks 3 years ago farming the mats for the stupid quests.. then Got all the patterns possible Because the armorsmith's are supposed to make the better gear NOT weapons.. Now ANY NOOB smith can make either?... RIDICULOUS!
I got the plans to make these last night, got the mats today, made them, put them on, and wept. While these boots are most likely BiS (considering that the Iron Army boots come from a 10 man hard mode that only 2 guilds have completed), the stamina on them is low. Not very low, not unacceptable, but for the mats, sub-par. Otherwise, the stats are beautiful and you'll likely gain about .33% avoidance and 40 stam if upgrading from the previous BiS, Inexorable Sabatons.
That said, expect some sort of buff to these boots.
I wish they had some lower item level boots with this model, so bads like me could get them :(
I like the model on these, definitely more tank-like then every other tanking boots (save the few Ulduar ones that share the same model). Oh well, I guess I can probably get them when the runed orb price plummets in 3.2 due to the weird change Blizz is making to the badge system.
It's a bit disappointing that no tanking boots with matching looks drop in Ulduar 10. As a warrior, my set won't feel or look "complete" until I get these. Still, they're BoE so it's only a matter of time (and gold)
BiS for tanks needing avoidance
go well with the rest of the siegebreaker gear for warriors
Kind of Pricey though so unless you cant get the boots off ignis than id definately buy these
Raw materials for these boots:
22 Eternal Fire
10 Eternal Earth
10 Eternal shadow
30 Titanium Bars
6 Runed orb
Dormont (Alliance) on Korgath can make these if you need them. Couldn't find anyone who had the plans for a solid month...
Are there any leather boots that have the same model as these? I think I saw them once on some rogue, so if someone could give me a name I would be greatful
found them -
The mats aren't too bad, as most tanking plate wearers have mining as a secondary skill. Runed Orbs are only 18 Emblem of Conquest or go for about 200-300 gold on my server. A stack of eternal fire is about 80 gold. A blue and yellow socket, and dodge and parry, not bad at all for the price.
A massive upgrade from the boots I was using, sucks when you can't get drops on tank boots.
Better then the boots that drop (though I've never seen them drop) from TOC
Make sure to tip your Blacksmith well for these bad boys.
Dosu - Madoran
This Boots are awesome and they are so Huge, BE Pallys and DKs Look like Megaman with his huge boots xD
When i first saw the titansteel bars required for this pair of boots i was thinking "how do they put that much metal into some tiny shoes ----- BUT when i saw how BIG they are on dwarfs i started wondering how my pally is ever gonna lift his feet from the ground again"
I mean on dwarfs they are so big, they are almost bigger than my pants and chest and probaly heavyer xD
Black Spire Sabatons
that drop off the Devourer of Souls, one may choose to save their gold instead of crafting these
May save money but these are definitely better than those. The two sockets with epic gems are nice to have.
Materials required to craft these have been
in the patch 3.3.3.
12x Eternal Fire
10x Titansteel Bar
6x Runed Orb
5x Titansteel Bar
6x Runed Orb
as a blood dk tank i would rather have these then
which i us as threat boots. the str is very nessicare when going up with dps
I think it's funny how more then half the screen shots are of races that don't wear "full" foot gear.
With a name like "Spiked Deathdealers" I wouldn't think of a pair of tanking boots.
Perfect match for warrior tier 6 color wise, in case someone doesn't like the Onslaught Treads model and prefers this one.
