Be warned, these are single use and have about a 3 second cast time. This means you have to do at least 8 dailies for enough shooters for
, not counting any misses or other failures to get credit for a tagging.
Would definitely not suggest trying to tag a rogue with these in PVP combat of any kind.
Do not shoot someone who is already a turkey. =(
you can shoot mounted rogues, belive me, they got me while i was in the air...
Shooting mounted rogues worked perfectly for me. Very funny seeing a turkey mounted on a bear, raptor or mammoth. Lol. ^^
Still lots of failures. Be careful with who you shoot at, and make sure they stand still right in front of you. :P
Today I shot an Orc Rogue while he was AFK. I did not get credit for that, which is kinda odd. So be very careful when you are shooting with this one-time use item!
Yes indeed, these are just
wich will be
after you use them, so be careful if you want the achievement!
Works on stealthed rogues too. It was kind of humorous watching stealthed turkeys running around...
Does the target rogue have to be above a certain level?
You cannot use this item while you are in combat.
How many of these can be acquired per day?
edit: never mind. answered my own question. five turkey dailies. i just took uniform pieces instead of turkey shooters, so i thought i wouldn't be able to complete this before the event ends. (started late)
GRRRRRR. About to hand in all my dailies to get a Turkey Shooter but then i got D'ced and a message came up saying i had ran out of prepaid game time. Man, BEST TIMING!
If you use Feign Death with the Turkey buff, you turn into a turkey feast...
A Horde rolled a Dwarven rogue on my server, paid for a teleport and stood in Dal to help everyone get the achievement. The spirit of giving at work here, people. <3
I rolled a dwarven rogue and found a mage willing to portal me to dalaran in exchange for the achievement credit. Win win. :) Then I stood in town for 30 minutes so everyone could get credit.
How could you possibly not think this is absolutely brilliant? Seriously, how many times in life can you ride around on a proto-drake as a turkey?
Sincerely, a Blood Elf Rogue.
Since I'm a gnome rogue.... How could I shoot myself :D?
Just joined Tol Barad and saw a Gnome Rogue, so went to use this on him and it didnt work, the animation of you aiming the gun shows, but you dont turn them into a Turkey and nothing registers on the achievment.
Not sure if its a bug or intended but just thought i'd post so people know.
You cannot turn Varian Wrynn into a Turkey.
I am a level 20 (F2P) and here are a few hints I would've needed earlier:
To find a specific Rogue of your own faction (Alliance/Horde), press "O" or enter /who Rogue - it will list you all Rogues and where they are.
For Rogues of the other faction, play Battlegrounds. Before the start, look at the enemy if the missing Rogue is there or not. If yes, try to shoot him during the battle. Not easy with the long cast time, but it always worked somehow.
Finally I had 12 shooters left and only an Orc Rogue to do. Pilgrim ended at midnight 26. November 2011 and the tables were gone, so I couldn't get any additional shooters, but I thought I could still use them. The next day at 1am (actually one hour later) all my shooters disappeared. Be aware of this, so to finish this Achievement it has to be Pilgrim. Let's try next year again.
To see what Rogues are missing, you can enable tracking: Click Achievements (Y), World Events, Pilgrim's Bounty, find Achievement Turkey Lurkey and enable the checkbox "Track". Then you see what Rogues are missing.
In addition to the normal 3 second cool down, there's a 45 sec or so cool down imposed after creating 6 turkeys in rapid succession. The last night of Pilgrim's Bounty I attempted to create my own little flock in Stormwind with 16 Turkey Shooters I had accumulated, but was slowed down significantly after the 6th.
When I shoot rogues by this Turkey Shooter it always makes me laugh.
This item disappears from inventory when the Pilgrim's Bounty Event has ended.
This year (2012) I finally made it. In 2012 two new Rogues were added. From the missing three Rogues of 2011, I could find two in PVP Battleground (turn on Statistics with a right click on the Battleground icon before match starts), but one was missing even after days and never appeared (an Orc Rogue). So I created such a player myself, went to a safe place, started the game a second time with my main character at the exact same place and voilà, my Orc Rogue still there. When switching back to the other game with the Rogue, I saw "logged off", but I don't care about that. It's probably just a protection to avoid that the same player using two characters at the same time to fight against something, but we don't need that here.
You have to shoot these Rogues (as of Pilgrim 2012):
Blood Elf Rogue
Night Elf Rogue
Most interesting thing can happen when you shoot a low lvl gnome rogue going through the cleaner quest! instead of a regular turkey you get a roast turkey!
bilzzard should add a turkey dance when you are a turkey!
If you spam going back and fourth, a "ghostly" fried turkey will appear above the turkey, submitted a screen shot of the "bug".
only 1 droping from a daily are you kidding me right meow
Cant use it in pvp instances anymore. When I tried to use it in random battleground it said you cant use this item in a pvp instance
