I just wanna know is it Eng exlusive or can they make them for other people? notice there is no Boe/Bop attached to it. because if they arnt BoP, talk about money maker!
Yeah, I hope this becomes Engineer only when it goes live. Even if it would make me considerable amounts of gold.
Did you know wrath of the lich king isn't out yet? Do you really expect it all to be done? ...
This Schematic as of now looks like it requires exalted with alliance vangaurd for an engineer to learn it.
alliance vanguard has 4 different factions related to it.
- explorers league
- the frostborn
- the silver covenant
- valiance expedition
so to get exalted is it exalted with all 4 factions? or do each of them contribute their individual rep + alliance vanguard?
according to wowhead. the only 2 out of the 4 branches of this faction have quests to do. valiance has 198, and explorers league has 22.. all quests totaled give 41535 rep or 37655 for valiance and 3880 rep for explorers league..
if my math is right it takes 42000 rep to get from neutral to exalted...
i hope they add more quests or dailies at lvl 80 so getting exalted isnt so tough
thinking of making my DK and engineer and getting the exalted status for this mount
I've been doing heroics without a tabard at 80 over the last few days and I'm only 2k from exalted. Really isn't hard to do if you just do like 5 heroics per day you can get it in 2-3 days probably
Where do you learn this ?
Guess what, guys?
If you thought those Overcharged Capacitors were expensive, just wait till engineers start stelling these!
- --- 12
- --- 12
- --- 12
which can be at least 25-80
depending on luck
which is also 25-80
ask your Skinning friend for help :-P
then the buying :
1000g each *8 =(8000g total)
All sold by

*edited my post just now after 3.5 years to reflect the nice wowhead item links.
I currently have 15,696g on my toon, 5 titansteel bars, about to make my 6th, the 2 artic furs and all the bolts. For the amount of money this sucker needs and the raw mats I am farming for it, it's really a slap in the face for it to not be able to fly in outlands or northrend. Anyone else feel the same? I mean if you think about it, how much are you using a ground only mount?
I can not wait to make one of these babies.
Gonna be sweet.
I hear this
affected by mounted speed boosts like Crusader Aura, or Riding Crop.
Also, you gain rep with Alliance Vanguard if you do not wear a tabard into an instance. Around 15 rep towards Alliance Vanguard per heroic mob. I'm 999/1k exalted with Valiance Exp, and only friendly / neutral with the rest. And I'm 16k/21k with the Vanguard, because I didn't wear a tabard for awhile with any faction.
also there's the dailies in icecrown, which give about 100-200 rep each, (non group dailies) and there about 13+ dailies easily in Icecrown, so shouldn't take too long ^^
About how much would the full materials cost to make this?
Idk if rep makes a difference or what, but being exalted I went and bought this schem. today for only 320. hardly substantial considering what it costs to actually MAKE the dumb thing :P Do parts go down in price for no reason?
12500gold total so i think that is crazy but it is blizzard so we cant tell them to change it so we have to give what we can to get the gold.
I just hit exalted with Alliance Vanguard today with my level 80 mage. In addition to doing heroic instances without a faction tabard, you can also earn Alliance Vanguard rep as follows.
I first did all the Alliance Expedition quests I could find (@#$%^&*!@#.com has a nice chart listing these at
.%^&*!@#$%^.com/wow/conten..._quests.pdf ). After you hit Exalted with Valiance Expedition, you begin gaining half rep with Alliance Vanguard; e.g., a quest that would normally give you 250 rep with Alliance Expedition now gives you 125 rep with Alliance Vanguard. I found 8 Daily Quests that give 125 Alliance Vanguard rep each:
(1) Westguard Keep in Howling Fjord, (lvl 70) “Break the Blockade”, Bombadier Petrov (21.0, 41.9), near the zeppelin dock; (Note: when you reach level 80, Petrov will no longer have a blue exclamation point over his head, because it is now rated as a “low level” quest.)
(2) Just below the flight path at Amberpine Lodge in Grizzly Hills; (lvl 73) “Blackriver Skirmish” Scout Captain Carter (30.0, 59.8).
(3) Blue Sky Logging Grounds in Grizzly Hills, (lvl 73) “Kick ‘Em While They’re Down”, Sergeant Hartsman (mounted on horse 39.4, 43.8)
(4) Blue Sky Logging Grounds in Grizzly Hills, (lvl 73) “Life or Death”, Rheanna (40.5, 42.6). NOTE: the other two quests in this area do NOT give Alliance Vanguard rep.
The remaining four quests are in Icecrown, and are unlocked by completing the quest (lvl 78) “The Skybreaker”, given by Marshall Ivalius (inside the tower at Vanguard Pinnacle; he is on the ground floor on one of the bunks at: 79.4, 72.8). (Note: If you speak to Officer Van Rossem at Krassus Landing in Dalaran , he will put you in an aircraft which will take you to the poop deck of the Alliance flying ship Skybreaker in Icecrown.)
(5) On the poop (rear) deck of the Alliance flying ship Skybreaker (the deck at which Officer Van Rossem’s aircraft deposits you), you will find Knight Captain Drosche. He will give you the daily quest “Blood of the Chosen”. Turn it back in to Drosche when you are done.
(6) Ground Commander Koup is found at 62,51 on the ground in Icecrown. He is surrounded by several squads of Alliance troops. He will give you the quest “Assault by Air”. The aircraft you use in this quest is on a little hill right next to him. Click on the gun mount in the front of the aircraft.
(7) One of the squad leaders near Ground Commander Koup (always random) will have a blue exclamation point over his head. This will start “Assault by Ground”. Four of the 6 squad members must survive in order to complete this quest.
(8) In the Vrykul village Ymirheim, hiding behind a house at the base of the mountain is Frazzle Geargrinder (57.0, 62.5) and his rocket-powered robot. Frazzle will give you the daily quest “King of the Mountain”. Hop on his robot, defy gravity, and jump up the side of the mountain. Continuous jumping seems to be the only way to do it. I recommend pressing 3 on your keyboard rather than clicking jump and then choosing the spot to jump else it will be too slow.
These 8 quests will give you 1000 rep with Alliance Vanguard.

Just a note, By the time you can buy this recipe (I.E. Exhaulted status) It only costs 320g.
I just wanted to add that you also need to actually know the schematic in order to even bring up the purchase screen to get the parts from Roxi Ramrocket. Otherwise it just brings up the flying training screen.
Crud I guess that means that it takes a really bored person to be able to get this awsome chopper...
This may not be the place to put it but i wasnt sure and im trying to level for this schematic...anyway is there a way to level the last two points to get to 450 without making the pricy goggles that u cant sell to get ur money back? well vendor...but not very much money back anyway :P
This begins to be really crazy moneymaking recipe if you are able to raid Ulduar. As known, you can get vendor mats for it, normally sold by NPC in Storm Peaks, salvaging Flame Leviathan, XT-002 and Mimiron's final robot. It means, that if you are lucky enough, you can get
12500 gold in 1 week
, running either Ulduar 10 and 25, of course if you clearing up to Mimiron.
Since nobody else mentioned I thought I would.
The Schematic costs 400G without rep bonus. Since it requires exalted to buy you automatically get the Rep Discount at Exalted.
At exalted the Schematic only costs 340 Gold.
would sell this, the reagents would be much more reasonable...
They now costs 380 gold
so let me get this straight... it costs 400g and you need to be exalted to buy it. With the rep bonus, that you must have, it mounts to 340g. o.O
solo porfavor quisiera saber como puedo hacerme una motoi chpoper
Thortok's guide to getting a
Chopper. Two passenger mount. People in your group can ride in your side car. Don't have to be an engineer to have and use one. Do have to be an engineer to make one. Don't have to own one to ride in someone else's. Gives an achievement to have it:
(Engineers Only) Get to 450
(Engineers Only) Buy (and learn)
. This requires
Exalted. Easiest way to get this rep to Exalted is to do heroic dungeons at level 80
wearing one of the tabards that changes the default rep into a different rep. You can also quest for it.
. Hopefully you can figure out how to do this on your own.
Save up 12500 gold or the following items:
will cost 3000 gold. 8x
will cost 1000 gold each for a total of 8000 gold.
will cost 1500 gold. Finding any of these mats for cheaper than the listed price on the Auction House is unlikely,
*, so make sure you check because it could save you money. Obviously, don't buy them for more than the listed price. Duh.
The parts listed in Step 4 can only be bought from
in K3 by an Engineer who has completed Step 2. So if you are not an Engineer, you will have to give your gold to the Engineer making this for you, and they can buy them from the NPC.
, the part that costs 1500 gold, is limited supply so has a chance of not being available. However, because of the rarity of choppers anyway, it is
available regardless. If the Engineer says it's not available, take their word for it and try again in a couple hours or the next day.)
The mats from Steps 4/5 and Step 3 will be used to make the chopper. If, more than likely, you are at K3 when you have collected your final mats, there is an anvil within K3 the chopper can be made at.
*The mats in Steps 4/5 used to be additionally available from deconstructing (the Engineering version of Skinning) certain bosses in Ulduar, specifically Flame Leviathan as the most common. Not sure which patch changed this, but this is no longer the case. Now that Roxi Ramrocket is the
source of these mats, you will practically never see them on the Auction House anymore. However, since these mats are bought from a vendor, the guild perk
can be used for a discount. No other forms of discounts are currently known. If you do not have this perk, you can check the Auction House to see if someone who does is selling at a discount. Since it could potentially save you money, why not check?
Make sure you protect yourself! If you get scammed, GM's can and
take action to get your gold and/or mats back, just open a ticket. In order for them to confirm it was a scam, make sure the entire transaction is negotiated using in-game text chat so the GM can read the chat log and confirm that you have been scammed.
(Hopefully this won't happen anyway, but 12.5k is a respectable chunk of money, so make sure to cover your bases.) This 'scam protection' is provided for all forms of scams, including the 'give you the mats to make an item and you keep them and give me nothing' scam, as scamming is against the ToS!
I recommend, for Engineers making this for yourself, after you make your first one, check your realm to see if there's anyone willing to buy this for extremely high prices (like, 20k or higher, perhaps even 30k). If you get enough profit, make another one and attempt to sell it. Keep going until you don't get any buyers for awhile, making and selling one by one, and then if you go a long time and can't sell your current one for a profit, THEN learn it yourself.
License plate says "PWN" :D
As of yesterday purchasing this recipe and attempting to "learn" it gives the message "This spell is unavailable to you."
A friend of mine has also reported that his chopper recipe within his engineering profession is now missing.
New bug, I'm guessing?
Any one notice if you convert yoru char to goblin or worgen and you have the schamatic it dissapears but when you go to the peron to buy it again it says you have it already learned
If you are in a guild that is level 24+ then you get the materials from the K3 vendor 1250 gold cheaper.
12500g without perk
11250g with perk,
Schematic: Mekgineer's Chopper
costs now 280G instead of the 400G in the Sell-section! (patch 4.2)
Bizarrely the cost of this item is based on Valiance Expedition rep NOT Alliance Vanguard rep.
I'm Exalted with Alliance Vanguard but only Revered with Valiance Expedition and thus see this listed as (including the 10% Barter Guild Perk) 300G rather than 280G.
A GM told me this: "While the schematic itself requires Alliance Vanguard reputation, the vendor NPC Logistics Officer Brighton is affiliated with another reputation, the Valiance Expedition. The discount you're offered with an NPC is associated with the NPC's reputation not the reputation associated with the item he sells. Since your reputation with Valiance Expedition is revered, you receive the revered discount not the exalted."
EasyPeasy! to get the rep at lvl 85 (4.3.3), grab a buddy or if you're pro enough to go on your own, do some lvl 80 heroic dungeons to grind that Alliance Vanguard rep (make sure that when you're doing those heroics to not wear any type of tabard). Take time and do a bunch of those and you'll have exalted in no time. (also a good time to pick up some goldz for the choppar matz!) after you get through all of that stuff, the mats that you need to create (arctic furs - get a buddy or buy em if they're cheap on AH, handful of cobalt bolts - maximum of 80 bars which is also 80 ores, and titansteel - if alliance has Wintergrasp, go farm all of those crystallized things you need to make into eternals for the titansteels, which is 12 eternal shadows, 12 eternal earths, and 12 eternal fires.) For the titansteels, you can either waste time forever looking for titanium when they literally have saronite laying all over the place that you can get an transmutation master to xmute for you (8 saronite bars = titanium bar and could proc to 2 bars at once). But after you get all of those, and have the money you saved (when you can buy the mats from the vendor in K3, Storm Peaks they all add up to around 12,500g) then you gotcho self a choppar! VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
Hope this helped, i know a lot of people might've posted this already, but thought i would also. =P
For some strange, silly reason, even though I am exalted with this faction (through my former main in WOTLK) I cannot seem to be able to buy this recipe... Must be something wrong with the actual reputation shared across toons....
After looking on the internet, I found out that apparently the fact that I have an achievement does not necessarily imply I will be able to get to buy the stuff sold by quartermasters...
Somewhat disappointing... esp for older content.
Okay, so- I have a high level engineer, she's on the alliance side. The description says that this is an "account-wide" mount, so does that mean my horde characters will be able to ride the horde-equivalent mount if I learn it on one of my alliance characters?
I've been looking for this thing every where and i have finally found it and its all thanks to wow head
For engineers & miners
You can become rich if you know how to craft this awesome mount fast.
you can get from
. You will need «Exalted» reputation with
Non-craftable ingredients cost
You can buy them from
. Or from
in Pandaria (90 lvl needed).
Also you can get them from mech bosses' bodies in Ulduar but drop chance is low.
— I advice you to farm Saronite as well as Titanium because you can ask alchemists to
it (no cooldown).
If to suggest that all the
will be obtained through transmutation, you will need
I usually get 5-7 Titansteel from this transmutation, and the rest from plain Titanium bars.
you will need
each. You can farm elementals in Wintergrasp.
The highest drop: Revenant elementals (big ones), but they’re available only if your fraction is the winner.
If you don't want to farm these elements, you can buy them on the auction house, but this is not the only way.
in Dalaran trades Eternal elements for
, which is obtainable for 75 gold from
So if the cost of some Eternal element on auction house is higher than the cost of
— go Frozen orbs way.
There is a reason to buy more
from Frozo, because
drop from saronite and titanium, and
drops only from rare titanium veins.
on special ingredients.
, farm elementals in Wintergrasp (optionally)
. You can buy them from
in Dalaran for 10
for Eternal elements.
in Zul’Drak and Howling Fjord.
They also drop from mech bosses in Ulduar.
If your farming rep, do Heroic Violet Hold, Die before the last boss.. Run Back, Run Out and the whole thing resets.
You dont get the gear the second time but you do get REP!
hi! new engineer here... i learned how to ride my hog years ago... but i want to make them!.. i went to go buy the schematic... and it says you already know it... i cant find it in my engineering recipes... how on earth do i make this bad boy?
If you're grinding rep as a lvl 100 toon in order to become exalted with the Alliance Vanguard in order to buy the schematics, I'd recommend doing these dungeons on heroic with no tabard on. It's quick and easy, and I was able to get myself from friendly to exalted one sitting by doing each of the dungeons.
Culling of Stratholme (Caverns of Time near Gadgetzan)
The Oculus & The Nexus (Borean Tundra)
Ahk'kahet & Azjol-Nerub (Dragonblight)
Violet Hold (Dalaran)
Trail of Champions, Pit of Saron, Forge of Souls, and Halls of Reflection (Icecrown)
Halls of Lightning & Halls of Stone (Storm Peaks)
Drak'tharon Keep & Gundrak (Zul'drak)
Utgarde Keep & Utgarde Pinnacle (Howling Fjord)
Important: remember not to kill the bosses in a single hit (I usually cast a single DoT and watch them die) as sometimes you won't get rep as credit for the kill if they go down in less than a few seconds.
You can go into any of these dungeons, kill the trash for rep (around 20 each) without downing a boss and then reset, but the bosses usually give 325-350 rep each so I decided to just do each of the dungeons as a full clear.
Im trying to buy this schematic it says already known how ever but when i look through my engineering and its not there to make! Any one know whats going on? Do i need to be exaulted with the alliance vanguard to make it?
