New changes to healing coefficients and raid wide effects still leave this glyph in muddied water. If they change the healing coefficient of HN which there have been rumors of, then it could be worthwhile for a Discipline priest.
However, as of now, any holy priest focusing on pve will probably be taking glyphs:
Flash Heal
Circle of Healing
PW:S
Dispel
Lightwell
Spirit of Redemption
With CoH, HN becomes worthless for healing, unless healing coefficients to it change. This glyph also makes it worthless for any damage at all. The only thing that would make this stand out is HN not generating threat, and I doubt that would overcome the desire for any of the other healing glyphs.

I believe this glyph stands to be a very strong Discipline spec PvP glyph. In 2.4, I find that there are many times in 2v2 vs double dps teams with rogues that I end up spamming Holy Nova to keep myself up. This glyph makes that all the more effective.
The only offset is that Glyph of Dispel Magic and Glyph of Power Word Shield are both so strong in PvP that I don't see this glyph being used till level 80 where it competes with Glyph of Renew for the third spot.

I would like to note that you
CANNOT stack several glyphs of the same type to increase the effect.
Upon attempting to inscribe a duplicate Glyph at the Lexicon of Power you recieve the message:
"That Glyph is already inscribed in your spellbook."

If it reduced the mana cost by 10% or so, it would be much closer to worth it.
10% would still only be a 2.5% cut off the 25% base mana, putting it at 22.5% base mana.
Nice, sure, but its still a very hefty cost for what you get out of it, i say 40% extra healing would be much better then that.
What i think you meant though is a bigger cut, but then its balance would be out of whack.. if it were made dirt-cheap with the same amount of healing, you would be either looking at a nerf soon, or perhaps a cooldown added.
Its fine the way it is, they could always up the healing some more to make it competitive, if they find it is not at the moment.

The day that Blizzard establishes a maximum amount of targets that can be healed and says that Holy Nova can now target raid members is the day that this glyph makes Holy Nova broken for Holy Priests. Without this glyph, Holy Nova's healing potential on an individual target is slightly less than that of Circle of Healing. With this glyph, Holy Nova becomes more powerful than Circle, for about the same cost, making it a very potent 5-man tool as well as a very flexible quick heal in PvP and solo situations. In a group with a lot of pets, Holy Nova really shines because it can heal so many more people than Circle of Healing even when CoH is glyphed. Then again, HN's greatest curse is that it can only apply its healing to the priest's current group.
Holy Nova's damage is appreciated but still negligible, so the damage reduction isn't much of a loss and also isn't as bad if you spec into 2/2 Searing Light (only 30% damage lost, 25% with 5/5 Twin Disciplines and as far down as 21% damage lost with the Discipline talent Focused Power for all you Disc priests out there, which is still a lot but you get in where you fit in).
5/5 Twin Discipines (5% additional healing for insta-casts), 5/5 Spiritual Healing (10% additional healing for all healing spells), 5/5 Divine Providence (10% additional healing for any heal that can affect multiple people), 3/3 Blessed Resilience (3% additional healing to all healing spells) and this glyph (40% additional healing to Holy Nova itself) make Holy Nova's healing potential 68% stronger than it initially was. CoH, which benefits from everything except the HN glyph receives a 28% healing improvement.
Holy Nova has the potential to become almost twice as powerful as it originally was, which takes it out of the ballpark of CoH healing and puts it into the ballpark of Prayer of Mending healing.
So, what you get currently is a heal centered around yourself that can heal anyone in your current group within range, can damage any enemy, and has no limitation on the amount of things it can heal or damage. With so many targets capable of being affected, this procs surge of light like crazy, which means a free flash heal (which in turn procs Serendipity) or a free smite (which allows you to contribute to dps without consuming mana when everyone's health is good). If you have the chance to slap it on or the opportunity for it to really shine presents itself, try out the glyph. It'll surprise you. But it's definitely not likely going to be a top-three choice for group PvE purposes, and certainly not raid purposes.
Edit: Had to change around some of the number crunching. Got a little gung-ho and established Twin Disciplines as 10% additional healing when it's only 5%. Still, my assertions remain unchanged elsewhere and this glyph still offers a worthy amount of healing boost to Holy Nova if you ever find the opportunity to use it.

I don't really raid on my priest. I do a lot of 5-mans.
Most heroics are far too easy and I end up with glut of mana to burn. So I jump into the scrum of mobs and start firing this off. Shield yourself for Borrowed Time and start blasting.
It's most fun to do when you have a crappy dps in your group. "Hey man, the healer is beating you, pick it up!"

In Mists of Pandaria this glyph has changed. Holy Nova has been removed as a baseline spell for all Priests, and must be learned through this glyph instead.
OLD: Glyph of Holy Nova - Reduces the global cooldown of your Holy Nova by .5 sec.
NEW: Glyph of Holy Nova - Teaches you the ability Holy Nova.
* Causes an explosion of holy light around the caster, causing 307 to 356 (+ 14.3% of SpellPower) Holy damage to all enemy targets within 10 yards and healing up to 5 targets within 10 yards for 2373 to 2756 (+ 24.7% of SpellPower).
* Healing is divided among the number of targets healed. These effects cause no threat.

Well, this makes choosing glyphs for Disc PVP....interesting.
Penance (cast while moving) and Inner Focus (immunce to interrupts) would seem mandatory. This leaves 1 major slot open.
Holy Nova in arena is situational at best. You can occasionally hit a cloaked opponent and avoid a bad situation. Desperation (Pain Suppression while stunned) seems an obvious choice over Nova for arena.
Holy Nova in a BG when defending flags is critical though. When the fight around a flag turns into a furball, Holy Nova has protected more flags for me than I can count.
Holy Nova for BGs, Desperation for arena? Rather have both.

If you use this glyph and are looking for the spell it is under your
GENERAL
tab in your spell book, I am not sure why.
I wanted to try Holy Nova out again so added it in my glyphs and went to try it out and could not find it. I tried typing '/cast holy nova' to make sure it was in the game, that worked so I was about to make a macro when I decided to just check quickly in the General tab. Anyhow, hope this helps some one else.

Totally useless glyph in MoP, the heal is terribly low, I am afraid its even lower than during cata, current state of Holy Nova reminds WotLK amounts of heal. Silly Blizzard.

In Warlords of Draenor, Glyph of Holy Nova has been removed. From the
6.0.2 Patch Notes
:
神圣新星
is no longer available through a Major Glyph, and is instead a Discipline specialization spell. Its mana cost has been lowered and its healing increased. It is intended as the efficient area-of-effect (AoE) healing spell for Discipline Priests.
