I recommend these. They will last you for 3 levels, until you get Toxin-Tempered Sabatons, or even longer if you didn't do many Ebon Blade quests.

Though it is easy to pass up the Toxin-Tempered Sabatons as a DK due to the block rating and knee jerk reactions, keep in mind that they are extraordinarily easy to obtain given our starting rep with Ebon Blade and are still an upgrade over the Tempered Saronite Boots.

Comparison between this and Boots of the Unbowed Protector:

+14 stamina
+4 strength
+100 armor
+9 def rating (2.63 def skill at 75)
-22 dodge rating (0.81% dodge change at 75)

With this you get more health, block value (or parry for a DK) and armor but less avoidance (even though you gain parry and dodge from the extra def, it's not enough to make up for the lost dodge rating). So basically this is more of a mitigation piece while the Boots of the Unbowed Protector is more of an avoidance piece.

I can imagine at level 75 when you can get this the Boots of the Unbowed Protector are slightly better but get worse every level (because the dodge chance getting lower but the health, block value and armor staying the same).
