Created by leatherworkers. The pattern drops off trash mobs in the raid in Sunwell Plateau and is Bind on Equip.
This item is the BEST chest piece for rogues currently until more of the Sunwell loot table becomes public and has roughly 23 DPS more than T6 chest piece for rogues not taking into account gems and enchants.
With the easy mats. Note that its Bind on PICKUP. Once crafted, it belongs to the crafter. :(
The mats look easy probably because they wanted someone to craft one right away on the PTR & it's BoP unlike the Gloves which are BoE, Do not expect that to stick. Those Nethers will turn to SunMotes.
that's very nice. i want to see now what they are going to put for blacksmith. (i'm ench-bs)
This chest is the reason why most tier 6 (Currently) level raiding rogues will pick up leatherworking if they don't already have it. The stat spread and socket colors are about as close to perfect as one could hope from blizzard. Also, I know several enhancement shamans who will be leveling leatherworking to be able to make this chest.
Total mats needed:
40x Heavy knothide leather = 200x Knothide leather = 1000x Knothide leather scraps
24x Fel Hide
6x Primal Might = 6x Primal Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Mana = 60x Motes of Earth, Water, Fire, Air, Mana
6x Primal Nether
Funny that a LW pattern is better than Tier 6... haha...
Looks like I'll be getting this =)
Pattern dropped for anyone yet? I suspect it's only off bosses or trash after Felmyst and not unlocked yet. That, or it's just not in the game.
Unfortunately this chestpiece is
superior to the
Bladed Chaos Tunic
, which drops from Felmyst - at least for Enhancement Shamans and Hunters.
I don't know if this chestpiece is better for Rogues or not, but I doubt it. This means that it is highly likely that this pattern probably best used for selling to non-Sunwell raiders who don't have access to Felmyst.
Drums of Battle
are why everyone is levelling Leatherworking for Sunwell - specifically Brutallus.
Regardless of whether or not we can wear mail, it is an extremely powerful chest piece. You may not like it, but both Hunters and Enhancement Shaman will vie to wear it. If it's better than our available mail, then we'll wear leather.
Anyway, yes, this is one of three reasons why most Enh Shaman are Leatherworkers, the other two being the Gloves of Immortal Dusk and Drums of Battle. The Drums, at the very least, are integral to raiding at this point.
Finally, as stated above, while this is going to be made by many Hunters and Enh Shaman, both classes will benefit more from the Bladed Chaos Tunic off of Felmyst.
this is like the best dps chest for feral druids too ^^ im hoping to soon see pattern on AH ;P
Got this last night from doing a pug Sunwell trash farming. I'm a very happy rogue :D
-Keahi, Llane Server
PS: I still have to make it, gem it and enchant it. Hehe...
Hey wait a minute, this chest looks awfully familiar...
Isn't this the same chest worn by that Blood Elf rogue in TBC load screens?
I just got this tonight on my rogue while my guild was farming Sunwell trash. Only one other person was in the raid that could use it and it was a feral druid, who spends most of his time tanking. I won the roll on it, which I am really happy about, because even though I absolutely love that Druid, he's awesome, it is far better an upgrade for me than it was him. Especially now that I don't have to worry about badges to upgrade my chest and I can focus more on the pants and boots I need.
This thing is absolutely nuts. Got it made, slapped two 5 Hit/5 Agility and one 10 Hit gems in this thing and equipped it. Needless to say it's a pretty significant upgrade from t4 chest. I hated losing the 2 piece t4 bonus, but this chest is definitely worth it. Overall I will end up seeing about a 50 DPS (buffed ofc) increase. Since we now have a moonkin in our guild, this chest capped my hit for bosses (well, almost 27.98% with Imp. FF and Spicy Hot Talbuk). It's just a nutty chest. The only way anything is better than this for Rogues is if a t6 set bonus depended on it.
does anyone know what the belt is in image three? i like it.
As a raiding hunter I can say with absolute conviction that there are leather items that are better for hunters than mail, so the argument is not at all moot. I would take this over the Embrace of the Phoenix with the gear I currently have. Hunters need hit too, don't forget, and wearing this would allow me to ditch some gear that I simply hang on to stay hit capped. I already pack lots of haste, so I don't need too much more, the few points this loses to Embrace of the Phoenix wouldn't make much difference to me.
As far as Bladed Chaos Tunic goes, Carapace is better if your latency is not too high, at least for hunters. Check out the comparison at Maxdps.com, and notice that the hunters can toggle a function to include leather items in calculations, validating my opinion regarding leather and mail.
I think its funny that one of the screenshots is of a rogue with 2 pc t4, badge fists and a blue helmet....and is wearing the best chest in the game. GG buying gold online.
This is why:
Check out those gems and other gear choices! He is good.
This chestpiece is simply imba. It seems all the best chest pieces in the game are patterns that drop off the sunwell trash, such as this one. Another is hard Khorium Battleplate for blacksmiths.
This guy is better:
got this for my druid tank
it's beast, bought the pattern for 2500g, this baby will last till lvl 80!
This crafted item is bind-on-pickup (BoP)
. This means you must learn the pattern and craft the item on the toon who wants to wear or transmog it.
BoP Craft Confirm
addon helps save you from accidentally crafting BoP items that you intend to trade or auction.
