Mark of the Illidari drops from trash mobs in Black Temple. When one drops, only one person can loot it.
They're used to purchase Flasks that only work in Tempest Keep, Serpentshrine Cavern, Mount Hyal and Black Temple. You can buy them at Scryers/Aldors bank once you've reached Exalted with Sha'tar, Cenarion and Scryers/Aldors.
With yesterday's patch (June 19, 2007), these Marks when from white to green (uncommon). As such, they are now Master Lootable (if you set your threshold that low). Handy if your raid prefers that these go to particular players/classes.
With 2.2 patch, you can use a
to create five of those mark
As of current patch 2.2, these marks are now also dropping from trash in
It is unfortunate that they did not add the new flasks (Pure Death etc) to be purchasable with these. For a dps caster, these
are less than optimal now.
Since 2.4, these Marks also drops from trash in the Sunwell.
With the 2.4 regen model changes, I sincerely hope they add Distilled Wisdom for Priests (and maybe Druids, although I don't know enough about the class to suggest that).
On Dunemaul EU, Horde side, I have seen these on the auction house from anywhere between 50g and 250g. Is there any reason for these to be more expensive than the flasks they provide?
Kinda sucks for alchemists that have discovered their counterpart flasks. Guess they wanted a way to control the cost of raiding consumables.
Will there be any use of them in wotlk cus i have alot of them in my bank :)
Finally met the requirements to use these, the flasks they buy are BOP. For a lvl 80, the flasks, and therefore the marks, are worthless.
Two away from 30 exalted reps though ;) /yea
The uses of these are very minor in 4.0.3 (and on). The only thing you can do with these marks is getting flasks usable in TBC raids. Selling them on the AH is hardly an option unless you have a TBC raiding guild on your server's faction. In the end it can't do no harm exchanging these for your most optimal TBC raiding flask, which increases your raid input for no costs at all (compared to any other flask). If you're a regular grinder of either the Warglaives, Ashes, Thori'dal it's 1+1, you'll get these in bulk and the exchanged elixirs give free buffs.
EDIT 5.4: as stated, ever since the Timeless Isle released
is farmable and is much more efficient than the TBC flasks.
shame to Blizz 4 not updating the items or at least some of them in the northernd and out land from a special vendors.(sry 4 my spelling) -)
i ran tempest keep: the eye, and it dropped once on each mob, could have been a lucky run, but you have to roll for it, but still good
Item doesn't say, and level 70 potions don't say, but you need exalted Aldor/Scryers, Cenarion Expedition AND The Sha'tar to purchase & use. Where?
Scryer bank = Arcanist Xorith
Aldor bank = Haldor the Compulsive
Blizzard assumes you had to have grinded through every instance several times, and are exaulted with everything before you raid.
Can these marks be used to gain rep? Or are they only useable when you have reached exalted with your specific faction?
Currently so useless that even vendors won't accept it.
Came here before purchasing some on the AH.
If you're farming old raids these are essentially pointless. You can buy old flasks with them at exalted with Aldor/Scryer, but you're probably steamrolling those old raids already.
Since 7.1.5 these can be vendored for 1 copper.
