This item is a WoW card game reward.
Got this loot card at the "through the dark portal" sneak preview and i redeemed it as soon as the item was implemented into wow. i cant say its any good but it adds some fun to others around you. If you click on the grill you will get a gray food "grilled picnic treat" (
) and if you eat it you will get a buff that says "Does nothing, but tastes great."
There is a hidden strength to this item for warriors, rogues, and ranged classes - Battlegrounds. It's able to be used by both the Horde AND Alliance simultaneously, and provides a great distraction for you to sneak up as a rogue, charge as a warrior, or roll up a spell/shot as a mage/hunter/druid/shaman/etc.
Also, this thing is simply too cute. :)
It's on a 3min timer.
One of the smaller rewards attained from the "Loot Cards" for world of warcraft TCG with the scratch off called "Rest and Relaxation" Going for an average price of $30 on Ebay
In patch 2.1, this is now a non-instant cast; it also can no longer be placed indoors, only outdoors. :(
This item comes from a special loot card in the WoW trading decks, I was lucky enough to pick one up and it really is a lot of fun to play around with. It brings people together and both horde/alliance can pick up picnic treats. I've had picnics outside Karazhan, on the IF AH bridge and on floating islands in Nagrand, truly a fun one!
This comes from the loot card "Rest and Relaxation" from the WoW Trading Card game.
I've got the 'Rest and Relaxation' card but how do i redeem it?
This item has saved a friend of mine many times when a group of horde approached, he simply popped out a picnic and all of a sudden the horde /lol at him, and left.
Here's some links to the other in-game items from either Loot Cards, or turning in your points:

There is two versions of the code: A loot card and a non-loot card. The loot cards are legendary ( Orange ) and the Non loot ones are rare ( Blue ).
It'd be nice if you could at least cook stuff on the grill. Oh well.
Where does it come from and how hard is it to get?
The Picnic basket comes from the World of Warcraft TCG (trading card game)
Dark Portal (
Rest and Relaxation
1/121 booster packs
Dark Portal booster boxes contain 24 boosters and cost approx $40 USD (inc. shipping), therefore the average cost of obtaining this particular loot is $202.00.
How much would I expect to pay for one off eBay or similar?
(most information sourced from there), the lowest Buy It Now price starts around $18 USD upwards to $30 USD, with the average quantity listed hovering around 10 items.
Allows you to summon a beach umbrella and hibachi grill that lasts for 3 minutes.
Any Player can click on the grill for Grilled Picnic Treats.
Can be used anywhere a mount is allowed and is useful to mark designated spots in outdoor encounters.
Useable at any level and therefore available for twinks.
How do the Loot cards work?
Loot cards are special rare versions of WoW TCG cards found in booster packs, starter decks, and raid decks that have a revealable unique code. Once this protective layer concealing the code is scratched away, a 25 digit promotion code is revealed that can be entered into the Blizzard offical promotions page.
I have the 25 digit loot code, now what?
All accounts from every region in the world use
to redeem any and all special loot. This webpage allows you to select the region and realm for the character that is to receive the item as well as provision for entering the 25 digit code.
Upon succcessfuly submitting the above information, you will be presented with an in-game code. Write this code down or print it out; you will need it to retrieve your item. Log into the game with the character that is to receive the item and travel to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale. There, you will need to find a goblin by the name of Landro Longshot. He is located on the lower parts of Booty Bay on the docks, and should be easily recognised due to the fact that he has two body guards riding turtle mounts next to him, a gorilla on a pole behind him, and a small hippogryph hatchling flying next to him.
When you find Landro, he will ask you which item your code is for; check your loot card if you are not sure which item that is. Ensure you have got bag space to hold the item!
Outdated due to the new Valentine's item,
, which is infact better. This item does have rarity issues, but will be confused often for the Valentines equivalent.
Complete party set:
Romantic Picnic Basket
Goblin Gumbo Kettle
Archmage Vargoth's Staff
Totem of Spirits
Brewfest Pony Keg
Brazier of Dancing Flames
Summon them all at once in a special spot for completely awesome party!
The reason for not letting you cook on the grill is probably because they don't want you to have an advantage over other players with these loot cards, it's just for show and amusements.
i have quite fun with this, on nerzhul i attract crowds as many as 20-90 people with my disco, goblin gumbo, picnic basket, dancing flames, totem, vargoth staff, fishing chair, love basket and my fun personality
just got this and its really fun
just sit around and talk to your mates
this is perfect thing for pvp vehicles and turrets because the umbrella makes it difficult to target them
Other than the loot card itself, this will be obtainable with the Mists of Pandaria expansion pack through the Black Market Auction House. Be prepared to pay big for it!

mount looks great, I'm far more interested in the
mount from the BlizzCon 2019 Giveaway.
Having said that, I would't turn down one of the toys
, or any of the pets such as
(depending on faction).
Must confess that a couple of the items aren't that appealing to me, e.g.
This item is now for sale from Ta'xera Inside a Night Market building in the Court of Harvesters on Revendreth, 52.4, 83.8 for 104,000 gold if you turn in a Dredger's Toolkit to him.
Otherwise you receive the message, "There are no items at this time. Please check back later."
