30 stamina is 463.50 health.
320 armor is 1,936 armor in dire bear form.

This is a REALY nice all around staff. The only problem I see is how much its going to cost at the auction house.

I think people should realize the significance of the -200 mana to shapeshifting costs. At current prices that's a 20% reduction in the cost of shifting into cat or bear, equivalent to two talent points. However, I understand that shapeshifting costs are to be reduced, so it's value will increase.

Pre-BC, 99% of feral druids had to opt for 1h/2h maces for their +str, +agi increases. glad to see Blizzard have made a staff (Atiesh excluded) which not only gives some impressive buffs but a nice ap addition. A nice compliment to this would be an equivalent for a balance druid.

Picked up one of these on the Auction House today for only 1000g. Was willing to pay up to 3000 for it so I hope the person who sold it to me reads this.

Great staff, the Strangestaff is nice but for PVP I still believe this is more effective for druids who use all of their abilities.

An excellent addition to the moonkin arsenal as secondary staff.
Worked into a form switching macro and aggro gain macro.
-Mana saved during emergency switch-outs.
-Roughly 1k armour should the need to temp tank arise.
-Significant AP for enhanced melee mana regen.

This staff dropped for me in a non-heroic Steamvaults run - off one of the Sorceress' just before the last boss. I won need roll versus another druid in the party.

this is a very nice staff for a feral druid, and as a feral druid i very much want it. heres a sad story, one of my noob guildies got the damn staff and sold it for 350g, i dont think i will recover from this devestating event.. if he was standing in front of me when he told me that i wouldve broke his neck..the end.

Anyone knows if the mana reduction for shifting is applied before or after other % based reductions such as natural shapeshifter or the Moonglade raiment ?

(if applied before, the overall reduction would be less than if applied after... example : let's say shifting cost is 1000 mana, if you apply this staff reduction first an then natural shapeshifter after it would be (1000 - 200) x 70% = 560 mana, whereas if it's applied after it would be 1000 x 70% = 700 then - 200 = 500... And then the difference is even more blatant with Moonglade raiment...)

I have 4 pieces of the Moonglade set and this staff, I am also specced with 3 points in Natural Shapeshifter.

The calculations for mana reduction are as follows:

The 200 mana cost reduction from the staff is taken off first. Then the Natural Shapeshifter talent of 30% is added to the 25% of the Moonglade 4 piece set, to make a reduction of 55% off the remaining cost.

In my case, the base cost of bear/cat is 1041 mana and the base cost of travel forms is 378 mana. The staff takes this number down to 841 and 178 respectively.

We then calculate the 55% off from there which brings my cost down to 378 mana for bear/cat and 80 mana for travel forms.

This has to be one of the best PvP Druid staffs I have ever seen. Of course it's stats are not just pvp oriented but without a doubt can be something of great value. I have yet to see any druid items from instance loot tables that compare. Perhaps Earthwarden, if it had more base stats. Great staff! =D

Had alot of money to burn seeing as we don't have to buy our normal flying mount so i bought it for 2000g when it popped up.

In regards to comparable weapons there's a few but nothing so (arguably) easily attainable.

Saved the best for last the wildfury is without a doubt the best feral tanking weapon in the game.

The Staff of Natural Fury is a great all rounder, very nice attack power in forms, the shapeshifting reduction + natural shapeshifter talents is a lifesaver in mana tight situations, good stam and the armor is just a nice bonus.

Edit: Just to add to Kalizto's informative post above @ lvl 70 with 3/3 natural shapeshifter and this staff, bear/cat costs 589 mana and travel forms cost 125 mana.

True enough it was a short sighted statement for now and perhaps I was too.. bold in my choice of words, it was simply my opinion but I did consider the facts and getting 156 defense rating is entirely possible without earthwarden and without gimping stats, and that's just with gear currently in game, a few things to consider..

These 7 items alone can get the required defense rating with alot of equipment slots to spare and bear in mind I didn't even include any defense gems that you could put in your armor or the aldor/scryer shoulder enchant etc.

As you said any druid serious about tanking knows that getting to the cap is easy but being able to upgrade some pieces isn't easy as there is a serious shortage of leather tanking gear in the instances, so upgrading your weapon may be the only choice, conversely you may want to upgrade you're armor such as chest and legs to tier 4/5 and keep earthwarden for the defense, that's part of the fun of figuring it all out :D

I still think that the wildstaff will replace earthwarden for most serious feral tanks the extra armor and large amount of stam is worth it, but that is just my humble opinion :) and yep it's sexy ^^

I won one of these bad boys in an arcatraz run. I myself am I druid but idk what to do with it :P. I'll probably end up using it. If I saw one of these on the AH for 2k gold and I had that much, I'd probably buy it. :D

i can't beleieve there is no way i can obtain this item, only wait and hope that sum1 will place it on AH. An item of this calibre should have dropped from a boss really. I've only ever seen this item on a druid once and I check AH everyday(no exaggeration) for the BoE items that I want , its been a while now and I've lost all hope. A truly great mace for pvp....well done to whoever gets it you are quite literally 1 in possibly 1000's who will....*drools*

As a Feral Druid, if this were to drop, I'd still put it on the AH, there are better weapons that are easier to get, imho.

I just found this staff while grinding Enraged Air Spirit, i needed 4 more primal airs for my Lunar Crescent. I suddenly quit grinding after i read that its going for 2000 ;)

This is THE best PvP staff in the game for a druid. I have found better staves for PvE dps and tanking but when it comes to PvP, there is not a single staff in the game which can match the -200 mana cost, armor and the AP at the same time.

I bought this on Barthilas 3 months ago for 3000 gold and it has been totally worth it.

Bit of an overkill methinks... Rune of Metamorphosis and the Staff would be enough to make shapeshifting free, or a very very low cost.

At first glance, I felt this weapon was overrated. My opinion on it continues to decrease the longer I look at it.

First of all, this thing is in no way worth the price for PvE. The DPS is barely better than Earthwarden, and it's worse than EW by far for tanking.

As for PvP, it has its merits. Not much that couldn't easily be replaced by a far cheaper mana potion, though. And you won't find this on any successful arena feral druid; they all have Gladiator weapons, which are easy to get. It just takes some time. And if that time is worth 1000g, or however much it is at the AH for you, go for it. Otherwise, I advise you not to thin your wallet on this particular piece of gear.

The price of this staff has fallen to less than 1000 gold on most realms and its easily available now. Its no longer the best weapon available for pvp with all the new arena gear but it still has its place because of the reduction in mana cost while shifting.

Its still worth 1k gold if you just hit 70. It won't last you forever but worth it until you get the latest arena gear. :)

I use this in the arena on my resto druid!
Using a mod like outfitter, I swap to this weapon in travel/bear form to help conserve mana.
This item will always be useful, don't get rid of it!

Just bought this staff yesterday on the trade channel.
Guy wanted 800G for it, but i got him down to 650G.

I think that was really cheap... I would have gladly paid up to 900G for it, cuz its such a rare drop, but i guess i got really lucky!

PvE:

Make no mistake, this staff isn't useful for "only" pvp. For example, I partner with a prot pally for questing all the time. It's his job to keep aggro on everything and my job to both cat DPS and heal. This staff makes a noticeable difference in my mana pool and ability to swiftshift.

I also use this in 5-mans especially when other members aren't as experienced with the instance. Maybe we get some bad pulls or something, but if my job at the time is cat DPS, I can pop out and heal and drop into form with a bigger mana margin.

Just think outside the box. ;-) It's possible to get more out of the druid class with this staff.

Consider using powershifting if you have this staff. 20% + 3/3 Natural Shapeshifter = infinite shifting mana which will give you a huge boost in DPS.

I got this off a random drop from Nethermine Flayers while I was doing my daily quest. I really wasn't expecting it, and it took me a second to register that I'd actually picked up a purple item.

I'm rather happy with it, overall – as a feral druid, this makes a very nice complement to my other gear. Having a reduced cost for shapeshifting makes life a whole lot easier, and in some sticky situations, it really can mean the difference between getting away or paying off another repair bill. It also adds significantly to my armour in Dire Bear Form, too.

Besides, it looks great. :-D

Found this today, dropped off a Darkspine Myrmidon, put it up on the AH for 2100g, lets see if it sells now. The 11k I have saved just does not seem enough for all my characters in Wrath :-( Then again, I will be saving from all those delicious new qsts hehe.

I got this in trade for 200g. A great leveling/pvp weapon now that the game is 80-capped. I wouldn't pay more than 200g for it, though, seeing as there are greens at L75 that will out-DPS it.

This is a very nice staff for transmogrification in patch 4.3, if you are looking for a decent weapon in addition to your (transmogrified) tier 6 druid set.

If you want a nice and sexy outfit for your female character check out the following items together. I have to add it looks best on a female druid or a monk but of course you can also wear it on a rogue if you chance the weapon.
