Can be pickpocked form LV +61 mobs
Picked one off of Captain Galvangar in AV
Drops rogue reagents and some vendor greys. Healing pots are uncommon. Will rarely drop a world BoE.
Dropped a green ring and 300 enchanting formula. I doesn't know why it's not reflected there, even thougn i'm contributing to Wowhead
ik got Azure Moonstone from one i pickpocketed from an ogre in nagrand
Pickable at skill 300 and droped from 61-70+ lvl mobs.
At 325 is yellow, 350 is green. Contains poisons reagents. Likely healing pots.
Just opened a box and it contained
Even though it is not listed :P
This item comes from pickpocketing monsters around level 60+.
This is one of the main ways a rogue gets Lockpicking skill ups. These boxes come from various humanoid monsters when pick-pocketed, and have to be lockpicked to be opened. Not only does this give skill, but it also can give various things for rogues (poison ingredients, junk loot to sell for money, or even gems).
I have received from it.
these are the lockboxes that supposedly contain the new epic throwing weapon, spinesever.
A macro (for rogues only, obviously) for getting these in mass quantities:
#showtooltip Cheap Shot
/cast Pick Pocket
/cast Cheap Shot
You can replace Cheap Shot with another opener, if you want.
The only downside is that when Pick Pocket is resisted, you don't land your cheap shot. (Sometimes you do however, due to lag). Using this macro while leveling/grinding on mobs with pockets will increase your income by a large amount.
Was pickpocketing waiting to get into BT today and got a
Not a spinesever which is what i was hoping for but, not a bad substitute
Some info you might not realize from the Wowhead stats:
Yes, The Night Blade and Spinesever are confirmed drops from these junkboxes. HOWEVER, the loot table for Strong Junkboxes does not list them as a possible drop, possibly because the drop rate is quite a bit below 0.1%.
Also, these boxes may have a hidden "drop level range," the same way a "Solid Chest" in a lower-level zone like Desolace or Tanaris will have lower-level loot than a "Solid Chest" in a higher-level zone like Eastern Plaguelands or Winterspring, despite having the same object name. In other words, it MAY only be possible to loot an epic from a Strong Junkbox pickpocketed from a higher level mob, say 68+. (This is UNCONFIRMED and if someone can provide evidence of getting one from PP'ing a lower-level mob, would help shed some light on this theory. All anecdotal evidence suggests it's from 68+ mobs only so far, though.)
From personal experience: Pickpocketed roughly 100 Strong Junkboxes so far, all from mobs 64 and lower. Received 3 pre-Outland greens (Formula: Enchant Bracer - Superior Stamina and 2 pieces of level 52 jewelry).
Hope this helps.
Just picked one of these open and was surprised to find a
got it (The Night Blade) from a 66 in Mana tombs (elite)
Well, after about 250-300 boxes i finally received the
. Woot!! Any high lvl instance run I make sure i PP anything & everything. Also, while doing dailies in Outland & at the Isle (fairly good drop rate for boxes), makes dailies last a little longer, but well worth it. Guess I will have to stock up more to get
. Happy PPing to you all!
Swamp Pendant of the Wolf
just dropped from a box.
First time I have seen a green item.
However, the loot tables have now changed since poison reagents are obsolete.
now drops poisons
Just pick-pocketed this from a mob in WPL, quite surprised when i looked on here at the mobs that can drop it. my lvl 37 rogue can't even open it up..
ETA: mob was rare spawn Scarlet Interrogator.
For those interested in farming these for
I've had a lot of luck in Shadowmoon Valley. By the time you finish a full circle pickpocketing, the pockets have re-spawned at your starting spot, and you can rinse/repeat. In one full pass around SMV I got ~45 boxes. Good luck!
Edit 18 Sep 2013: Path of Conquest in SMV has given me the best results from PP'ing for junkboxes with the average junkbox drops being around 20 per cycle through. By the time I finish this area alone the pockets have respawned. This area is particularly great because of the large quantities of mobs and how close together they are.
