i think percentage based bonuses are multiplicative, not additive. i could be wrong though.

Just about every % increase in the game stacks multiplicatively, so I would assume it is the same case here.

Gotta have the Battlecast set, which is composed of a Headgear and Leggings, to get the bonus of 5% resistance. Can't wear that engineering headpiece with that.

you can't have the engineering headpiece at all. as of 3/22/07 it's still uncraftable due to the fact it requires Shadoweave Cloth... which isn't available in the game.

the issue is known and blizz has announced it will be fixed "in a future patch". this was announced a patch or 2 ago :(

You are forgetting one thing when doing that math; you can not wear Foreman's headpiece and Battlecast Hood at the same time ;)

Can anybody confirm a drop within the past couple of weeks? Me and a few others in my guild have been running BF daily but have not seen it. I got it on my priest on the first run very shortly after BC's release, but have not known anybody else that has seen it drop for a while.

I doubt it stacks, 35% resistance to interrupt would be quite powerful, but I'd be curious to know if anyone has tested it

35% resistance to interrupts is not that powerful yet.

Consider the Mage talent Burning Soul (+70% resistance to interrupts to all Fire spells), Warlock talent Intensity (+70% resistance to interrupts on Destruction spells), Priest talent Healing Focus (+70% resistance to interrupts on heals) for example.

These all stack with paladin auras as well; I can't see why this necklace's bonus wouldn't stack with those abilities.

While not 100% worthless, it is still a nurf. In PvP, completely ignoring the silence a % of the time is much more benefitial than reducing the silence or interrupt effect.

The real nurf is it can no longer stack with other such effects.

Take counter-spell for example: a 8 second (patch 2.1) duration. Talisman of the breaker reduces the effect by 1.6 seconds. And because this effect does not stack with other similiar effects, it will at most be 1.6 seconds reduced.

Before 2.1, the 15% resist silence/interrupt DID stack with other similiar effects.
So 15% from this, 15% from paladin conc aura, 20% from maytrdom if your a priest and its up. Another 15% from Unbreakable Will (Again, priests only). Foreman's Enchanted Helmet which was once 25%, but unmakable.

With a chance to resist the counter over 30%, it was much much better, but also understandably overpowered. An okay item, but not as amazing as it was earlier. (And completely worthless if you have a pally with you).

I play a 2v2 Shaman/Warrior team in the arena and I'll be hoping for this neck to drop when we start running Heroic BF. With talents I have a small chance to resist Silence and Interrupts, and with this neck it will make it that much more likely to survive one of those Counterspells.

The item is hardly useless - Paladins are the only class who have a way to reduce the duration of Silence mechanics. Any team without a Paladin (mostly 2v2) will find this neck very useful.

Ran Heroic Blood Furnace solo for no particular reason and stumbled upon this. I wish Cata had something similar now that CC's and interrupts are more abundant than in any other previous expansion so far...
