I have heard that these actually work. Any confirmation on this?
I would think this would let you see chests on your mini-map, just like the Dwarf racial talent does. Can anyone confirm this?
My friend got 2 purples and a lot more greens iono if it's real or if it is his luck... I JUST DON'T know >< someone confirm it.
I doubt that this necklace works :D Of course, you can never be sure BUT I wouldn't recommend wasting that amount of money for this :D
All of these amulets are jokes, did you bother reading the descriptions before you bought them? They all are jokes. Don't buy this, if you do you are a sucker.
Lower City is full of "immigrants" as the lore says. His name is Griftah, the guy who sell the amulets. It's a play on words with Grifter.
Grifter - noun Slang.
1. a person who operates a side show at a circus, fair, etc., esp. a gambling attraction.
**2. a swindler, dishonest gambler, or the like.**
This is exactly what it is, it just adds depth to the game by having a shady merchant around in the lower class area of the city.
If this would actually give a higher chance to drop greens, epics or whatever, wouldn't everyone be using this in a while? That's why it doesn't work. It would be one of the most powerful items in the game.
The item does nothing.
Hey, people will buy the Exotic Cookbook for a few gold as well, if you're lucky (
I dunno, a guildie friend bought one, and it seems that we have had super good luck with blues and purples when he wears it. LBRS once dropped 2 greens, 8 blues and 1 purple. then one run he couldnt make it and we got 6 greens and only 2 blues. =/
hoax or not it brings good luck! =)
LOL i was in the party with u guys remember? i was about to post that lucky incident he rolled a 100! on the robe that had .2%drop rate that was amazing so i bought it and on bosses i almost always win it now so all you who say it dosent, go on test realm buy it then test it =P
I have a warlock guildie who swears the thing works, I can't convince him otherwise. 30g is a little too expensive for me to pay for something that I am 99% sure doesn't work though.
And RE: Evilgm, it was not sold by him in 2.2, he was moved outside the city gates but this item (and only this item) was REMOVED from his inventory...suspicious...but anyway, it is back now that 2.3 is live.
Requisite for fishing the Ashbringer, IMO.
Hey, it works great for me. Just the other day, I was killing this boar in the forest somewhere, and he dropped some plate healing pants. Quite a find, this amulet.
You know, since it IS a level 60 item, it just might do something that you don't know about. Arguably, since there are no long term tests on the viability of such an item, it is impossible to say whether or not it works. Arguably, one could purchase the item, farm say, SFK 1000 times without the amulet, and then again 1000 times with it just to see if it alters the loot table. Since there are many many conflicting statements, where some say it is stupid nonsense, and others say that it works, why not look into it?
are you ppl trying to confuse me does it or does it not work???
It really DOSE work, I killed a random wolf and it dopped a
to replace this peace of crap!
According to Bliz, the loot dropped by every single mob and boss in the game isn't calculated when you kill it, it's calculated when the NPC is generated.
This item therefore can't possibly do anything of it's own accord. The anecdotes reported here are instances of dumb luck, the same as "I got my loot on the first kill," (as opposed to "I've been farming this quest item for 100 kills and it still hasn't dropped". both are dumb luck).
THIS talisman does work i asked 2gm's both said it worked!!!! and then i brought it and it's been easier for me to farm the mats for frozen shadoweav set.
I dont think this talisman works, i brought it to shadowfang keep but i even got less greenies then i use to get there.
Of course this item works. I have found many sets of magical armor found in the most mundane places! I've killed a giraffe and it dropped a recipe! Given this though, even without the necklace on I have the same ability with the same chances.
the item works of . DUH! but only in the fact oh your hope it really doesnt do anything in other words but what ever if i was you i wouldnt buy it but im not you so go buy it and waste your money hehehaha
ok so NPC's loot is chosen when they spwn but what if this thing affects what loot is given to an NPC when the wearer enters an area this is the first time i found it in my AH so im gonna try it and if not i might as well see if i can sell it back in AH for a refund or more besides i would like to see if i can change my luck anyway :).
Text in this amulet ofc means daily quests. When you got lootable item as reward its loottable is made then. when you hold this amulet while recieving lootable reward, you have better change to get low rated items.
this DOES work, but not in the way you think, read up on how the human mind can affect random number generators :)
I read these comments, and was just thinking like: "I got to try this neck out!".
Well I bought it, and it was just completely waste of money :( I killed around 50 mobs, both humanoids and beasts in Terokkar, but nothing else than gray items and a few silver dropped :(
Because of that, I really don't think it works s;
But atleast my bank char got a cooler neck now.
Pretty much the end all of the debate over whether it works or not is that it does work, because it actually doesn't claim to do anything. "One might find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales!" Does this not happen every day with or without wearing this talisman? The key is, you don't need to spend 35g to have the same opportunity to find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales. It doesn't claim to increase your chance on obtaining rare loot. Therefore, in my opinion, it does exactly what it says.
Wearing this talisman, you may indeed find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales. You also have the same chance for these rare items without it, though. That's the Griftah's trick, he technically isn't selling anything that claims to do something it doesn't, he just fools people to make his money! You may find rare loot wearing it. Your chance is just as good without wearing it, though. Two of the other items sold prove my theory, the
, and the
. The Madstone claims that when worn, when you die your spirit is anchored to the world and you come back as a ghost and can re-enter your body - as we all know, this is what happens normally, so again the Madstone works as it claims, it just happens to also work without wearing it. The Tikbalang Ward also works, preventing Tikbalangs from stealing you to the treetops - this one works on a slightly different principle, it works because Tikbalangs don't exist, so again, wearing this ward or not you're safe from Tikbalangs, therefore it's claim isn't a lie.
All of these items are simply literary tricks, making claims about things that are true with or without the item to take advantage of people not quite quick enough to catch on. Griftah's a con artist! This concept of making generalized claims like a chance to find rare items in mundane places is still used today by con artists in methods like fortune telling or communicating with the spirit world, saying things that aren't untrue but could be figured out by the person paying for the service without having had to pay for it. It's a classic trick and this is just Blizzard's version of it to add an element of reality to the dirty and seedy lower city in Shattrath and I love it. If you fall for it, you fall for it. You got conned!
If they actually did work that'd be pretty tight. But they dont. Great post Ch0p. I didnt realize that about his name.
Though a complete ripoff, I went ahead and bought one for my level 1 twink. :)
Orehrat (Gnome DK) - Bronzebeard US
So a long time ago now i was grinding for Disgusting Oozling being a pet collector and all. I had grinded for weeks, my bank alt had this necklace as kind of a statement. To show of to people he is rich, and with this necklace "might" get richer. I sent the necklace to my mian, just to try it out after reading some comments about it. What do you know, the Disgusting Oozling dropped after a mearly 15 min grind. I don't say your chances are higher with this necklace, but after weeks of grinding with nothing and 15 min after i put this on i got what i wanted. It has never worked after that though. So i guess it's all up to you to believe or not.
from all these coments it seem to me you read the thing and you think "
i wonder if this really works
" you go buy it then you strat farming ... so maybe its just becuse you havent even been farming
Is this a con? I have discovered nought special since wearing it? :(
Wtf MF amulet, Mephisto here i come!
ha ha i am glad i researched this before buying. I knew it was too good to be true.
Anyone else just buy it for fun? I got it for my Bloodsail Set.
I dunno, it seems to kinda fit.
This item actually increases your luck in persentage, like i equipt it while
was equiptet to me,then i was accepted in Warsong Gulch, and
activated 5 times in a row!
I wish tht they worked............so much power!
I bought it because it's pretty. (LOL) it is though, and what else can a level 9 or below wear? Makes a lowbie feel dressed. :) It's a fun necklace. I personally like crap like this in the game. I dunno.... just my opinion.
lol yeah i they got me for Shark's Tooth of Bona Fide Fluidic Mobility...
Well.. I wasn't so sure about buying this when I saw it, since there was no text "+20% chance of finding.." etc, but I met this player who had bought it. I asked around about it, and she told me it worked, so I bought it.
Well.. it worked for her, she says, but I honestly think it's a lie, cuz NOTHING happened for me. No trackingdots on the map, no shimmering on anything more than usuall, and no extravagant loot on anything.
So my tip is, dont buy it, unless you really want something flashy, and have a lot of cash. 35g isn't that much to some, but it's more than enough for quite a bunch of players. You can use it on something else. Buy 35g worth of bread, I think you have more use for that, tbh.
I got this as a gift from my guild master.
I guess it was because I was under the impression that it may do something to the drop rate. I have gotten a lot of "green" stuff, and then I got this:
from a regular mob
but after reading this I realize that it may just have been "good luck", but check the odds of getting it
I kind of need to raise my stats, so I'll wear something else. But I'll still keep this cool trinket as a reminder of the 250 gold I got after selling that sword
when i had THIS.
4 stam 4 strength leather belt!
I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I bought this thing and I had my doubts until Frostmourne dropped along with Shadowmourne off of a normal prisoner in Stocks. It also got my Death Knight to lvl 80 when a mob in Hellfire dropped the "Book of leveling to 80". It was amazing!
this item IS a phony actually, whenever there is an item like this that really works, underneath it literally sais "it really works!"
I had been fishing in the Dal sewers for the giant sewer rat for 8 (yes, 8) hours straight. A nice night elf noticed I was still fishing and offered to buy this necklace for me. I pooh-pooh'd him but finally gave in because he really wanted to buy it for me, and what the heck, it couldn't hurt right? 15 casts later... ding! The rat was mine. Coincidence? Probably. But we'll never know for sure. :)
To whoever down-rated me, this is a true story. For the record, I don't believe this necklace makes a darn bit of difference. But I'm putting my personal experience here.
Dwarfs always wear this , and yes thats where their racials come from.
Wow! It works! How can I tell?
"Hammer of the North Wind"
dropped from a
. A worm that wields a hammer... 1337.
This totally works! I saw it sitting in my bank so decided to put it on for laughs, as soon as I did Hallegosa taps me on the back then hands me
with no more than "here it's yours". As a Hunter I was a little confused but hey I'm not going to turn down a free dragon mount stick.
The true con artists are the people who put these in the auction house for 500g XD
This page is always good for a laugh- More so when you realize there are posts from BC all the way to Cata :P
"Wearing this, one
find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales!"
Contrary to the flavor text, it has no effect on drop rates, etc.
Got this from a Garrison Mission as a reward with some gold in beta. TBC throwback.
An item of comparable power to Dark Souls' Pendant.
Just got this from a garrison mission to rough up someone who sold some of the garrison troops faulty crap that doesn't work.
has been at it for quite some time by the time we ran into them in TBC!
I can't find any real benefit for wearing this as opposed to wearing a neck with useful stats on it. I wasn't having any trouble finding any treasures before I equipped this (I got an achievement for finding 10 draenor treasures before I reached level 93 without it). I'd say don't worry about using it, but bank it just in case it proves useful later.
Looks like Griff is at his shenagins again!
This item can also be found inside the mine carts at your Garrison (Level 2 or 3).
As soon as I put this on, I found a rare epic neck piece... RIGHT IN MY BAGS!
Mere coincidence? I don't think so!
I put it on and Illidan dropped me the warglaive I needed.
I'll wear it on every boss that can drop mount :D
basically improves the item will be the quest reward. All quest reward items in draenor came Purple or blue to me.
Just got mine today from a Crate of Salvage (Draenor). LOL
Funny enough, this item was originally sold by Griftah. I got mine from a garrison mission where my follower tracked down Griftah, killed him, and returned with the talisman.
I just got this item from the follower mission. Used it during my daily apexis quest (mok'gol watchpost), and i feel like i got a lot more vendor trash/items worth anywhere between 3-8 gold. Might be coincidence, but i definitely got it at a much higher rate than usual.
I equipped it, got nothing, unequipped, will sell on AH for $$$.
I decided to give the talisman a try and went to Tempest keep after a year of break and surprise! the mount dropped, coincidence? probably it is. But it is definitly mysterious :P
It might just have been chance but with that luck i'm just gonna farm anything i need with it.
I know this is a joke item, but I decided to try using it when I Salvaged items in my garrison's salvage yard, and I seem to be getting better than average results. I don't know if this is just coincidence or not, having done this only a few times so far, but I'm happy with the results.
I just got this as a reward for a follower mission at my garrison.
Well what do you know, this thing really works, I got it as a quest reward and the second I got to a vendor I was instantly given 8 gold 75 silver. LOL
It amazes me that so many fall for this trick and even worse that players will buy it and the other charms in the game. Just like real life there are scam artists and con men that will take your money if you are foolish enough to give it to them. Well done Blizzard for adding a bit of reality into the mix...
To clear up another hypothesis - even though it makes a cameo in Garrison quests in Warlords, this item does NOT enable tracking of Draenor treasures for
et al at all.
I too was skeptical. I decided it couldn't hurt to try though. I still haven't seen any difference in the game. However, on a totally unrelated side note, I just won the Megamillion Lottery for 200 million, and Carmen Electra is now like totally into me...
I won the item off follower missions, sold it thinking it's worthless junk. Then later it came up again so I put it on. Now I have dwarf building and salvage yard and when I open the big crates I kept winning armor or weapons, thus far ten crates opened and follower items in each. Took it off few days and I got 1-3 items for followers outta ten crates.. Now I just wear it when opening crates and I always get items for followers...
Okay so no joke.. I was reading the comments and enjoying all the funny posts. I thought okay, well why not. I figured I would put this thing to the test in Stratholme, the one place I have been farming FOREVER. Didn't drop the first run, ran out and realized as I was resetting the instance that I never even wore the darn thing. So I equipped it and slaughtered the instance and TRUE STORY, the Rivendare's Deathcharger dropped for me! Call it coincidence but I am a believer! Whether it was dumb luck or not, I am never getting rid of this necklace haha.
After extensive testing, I have confirmed that this amulet provides the same benefit in your inventory as it does while equipped.
Believe it or not the
two weeks in a row for me while wearing the talisman. Coincidence?
don't believe this one! The day I got this trinket, I had to log off for a while to go shopping. During the trip, I bought a lottery ticket. On the day the numbers were drawn, I found that I had won $5,000! Damned thing actually reached out of the game into my RL!
Got this item from a mission, and kept it after thinking about vendoring it. Decided to go by Khadgar's tower to see if those elusive Shadow Sporebats would finally show their face: No joke, 3 of them were up. Caught all 3 through the battles, with the last one being Uncommon quality. Maybe it was coincidence, or maybe it wasn't. I just figure that maybe it's worth holding onto a lil longer.
(Submitted a screenshot, we'll see if it gets approved to show the item in bag and the log showing the 3 catches. This is actually a true story!)
Got one of these, sold it, got another one yesterday from the mission and forgot about it, leaving it in my inventory. Ran Sethekk Halls today and
what dropped? Probably a coincidence, but I think I'll be leaving this in my inventory. Just in case.
After reading some of the posts here i decided to equip it on an alt before killing Attumen the Huntsman in Karazhan and guess what Fiery Warhorse's Reins dropped... #$%^ing luck or what?
I'm farming this mount every week with 5 characters... and the second i equip this thing the mount drops... donno what to say... I'll keep this necklace and send it to the characters i'm farming mounts...
So ppl out there please wear this thing when farming mounts and stuff who knows...
The instant I put this on, an ilvl 645 neck piece appeared in the same space in my bags! Sadly, it was identical to the neck piece I already had on :(
Not sure that I am believer yet, but the first time I tried it out, the
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor
dropped off Ragnaros. Will try it on Onyxia next reset with high hopes of being converted...
just so you know it doesnt do anything:
The Talisman of True Treasure Tracking is a vanity item that, despite the flavor text, does not actually do anything, much like the rest of Griftah's wares.
This vanity item can be purchased from Griftah within Shattrath City. Contrary to the flavor text, it has no effect on drop rates, etc.
and from a blue post:
There are far too many extremist comments and arguments in this thread. We are talking about a virtual world in which fictional money is exchanged. Real world analogies do not properly apply and can't possibly apply in this case. This is an RP element in an RP game nothing more. It is flavor that adds to the facade of living in a real and interactive world and it's only meant in good fun. Take it as it is meant to be or avoid interacting with it but it is not an element that warrants a mass uprising of the masses in order to right a terrible wrong.
Griftah has got to be the most successful troll ever. Even goblins hafta look up to him.
Now I ain't sayin' this @#$% is legit, but I put this necklace on before doing Sethekk Halls and
. I've never run this dungeon on heroic before this. I might be delusional but I'll be slipping this necklace on before I do any mount runs.
I have a hard time believing this actually does anything, but after my wife and I got them, we soloed TK yet again as usual and the ASHES DROPPED! Whew, how awesome. Crazy thing though, we soloed it again this week, THEY DROPPED AGAIN! Wow.
Since wearing 1 of these I haven't lost my car keys...... However, that might be because I have a 2nd Talisman in my backpack.
I know, its like a loophole in life, shhhh !
All I know is that as soon as I put this tailsman on my wife was all over me whoa !
I put this on and found an epic neck piece in my bag! wait wait, yep that is the one i took off to put the talisman on.
One more random coincidence to add to the pile - I've been intermittently running Onyxia for the mount on my main since MoP with no result. This morning on a whim I decided to run it on my lvl 94 alt as well, low and behold the mount dropped, and it turns out I had forgotten to vendor the talisman rewarded yesterday so it was still on her at the time. Might just drop in on Mr. Sunstrider now...
These posts are a statistician's and psychologist's dream.
The sad fact of the matter is that most people remember when something positive happens (OMG! I had the necklace on when the Warglaive of Azzinoth dropped off a level one rabbit!) but not things that don't happen (OMG! I was walking down the street and a piano didn't fall on my head!).
People just don't associate the lack of drops with the necklace - probably because people don't get epic drops on 99.9999999% of their kills. And when something special happens, most humans need to find a reason.
The necklace is a vanity item without any powers. If you don't believe me, then conduct a simple test for yourself:
Without the necklace on, run a dungeon and record every kill and every reward.
Put the necklace on, re-run the dungeon and record every kill and every reward.
Compare the two lists. Then decide if the necklace is worth that spot in your bags...
Necklace on...virginity off. Best WOW purchase ever!
I found 8 gold and 75 silver in my bags after selling this to a vendor! Truly a treasure finder.
This amulet does work. When i put it on a 685 heroic amulet appeared in my bags.
The best treasure to be found from this item is selling it to a vendor for 8g 75s. (Who knew? it works!)
This necklace lost me a thousand gold! How you ask? I put it on to see if would make a difference while gold farming. Well instead it brainwashed me and made me forget I didn't have my normal gear on! I went into a raid, made a bet that I could out DPS my co GM and lost by 2k. It wasn't till the next day that I realized I was working with a 632ilvl instead of 670! Don't buy this brainwashing piece of junk! It's working for your enemies!
I put this thing on last night and woke up the next morning with my girlfriend telling me her Dog fell pregnant last night.. I couldn't believe my luck, Now all I have to do is wait til I can cash in on the offspring she bares. I hope it was that poodle next door or I'm in deep #$%^...
Guys...guys...guys...This works irl too!
Every day for the past 8 years I've just woken up in the morning and went to work. This morning I decided to equip that necklace on my warlock before leaving home. On my way to work I pulled into a McDonald's and ordered my usual (sausage biscuit with a medium orange juice). When I pulled up to the window to pay the cashier said, "oh you don't have to worry about it - the car in front of you paid for yours." I was floored! I pulled out of McD's and hit every single green light on my way to work - literally has never happened before! When I get to work Veronica from accounting asked me for my number (and she's smokin' hot). When I sat down at my desk I got IM'd from my boss asking me to come see him. When I sit down across from him he says "you know we have that VP position opening up, right? Well we want you to apply. It'll be a 45k raise." Whoa! On my way home I see Miley Cyrus on the side of the road with nothing in front of her so I ran her over without doing any damage to my car. WHAT IS GOING ON? When I got home my neighbor was on my porch holding a plate of fudge brownies. "Just thought I'd bless you today" she said. I sat on the couch proceeded to eat my brownies when I noticed something strange on the TV - I had free HBO! So after watching a few episodes of GoT I decide to log onto my lock to see if she had (or
) the same luck as me. Check her mail for sold auctions. Nothing. Try to que for a premade raid. No takers. Do a quick heroic ICC 25 for Invincible. Nuh uh. Enter a battleground to try to get some killing blows. Went 0-12 and got 5 capped (ab). Suddenly, I heard a knock at the door. I open it up, not knowing what to anticipate anymore as my luck had suddenly shifted, only to see....
I'm really sorry I came here to read the comments.
I am convinced tha this item works wonderfuly. I got the
Smoldering Egg of Millagazor
from Firelands off of Ragnaros and
from Dragon Soul off of Ultraxion today after having gotten the Talisman yesterday from
RNG is RNG. This item doesn't seem to raise your chances of getting a drop.
Am I the only one who thinks the video completely explains the item without the necessity of reading the comments?
Alright I did it, reading these comments and doing heroics. I had about 10 min before the kids wake up from nap, and I put the necklace on and ran Sethekk, got it. I think its all Karma but hey i'll take what i can get.
I have the vague sensation that this thing works. Don't know if someone has put this to a thorough testing session.
Understandably most comments here are of the sarcastic or satirical nature. When I first received the ToTTT I came here to see if anyone else had any practical experience before I took the measly 9g and called it a day.
Just for giggles I decided to use it a couple times and, all bologna aside, I am glad that I did. Perhaps it is all dumb RNG luck, or possibly the placebo effect, but there seems to be some difference in my loot, specifically out of
. I have pulled two
I have a theory which may support this curio from having more purpose than meets the eye. All characters have a base chance to roll an upgraded version of any item they loot. If you have a Dwarven Bunker in your Garrison that chance is increased. Therefore, all characters have a hidden stat we can call "luck". The theory is pretty simple, ToTTT adds to luck. Although it will take much more data to draw any conclusions, I am having success with the Talisman and do not plan on selling it..... ever!
I'm not saying it's *because* of this talisman, buuuuuuuuut.... after years of farming, I finally got Ashes of Al'ar to drop with this in my bags. First attempt after obtaining this item. Seriously. I nearly peed. I screeched right into my husband's ear over the phone when I saw it. It might be a complete fluke/coincidence/whatever you want to call it, but it's awesome and I will neeeeeeever use another flying mount again....
i got a heroic warforged necklace after i put this on!
i will wear it. i have more faith in the power of this necklace to work miracles than i do in the power of god to.
During Love is in the Air after i killed the three apothecaries in the daily dungeon i opened
and low and behold in my bags there was a
with a 1.2% drop chance was it down to this, or was it coincidence? i guess we'll never know.
I have obtained several
Talisman of True Treasure Tracking
from Garrison missions and have always vendored them, until a friend told me that they actually worked - which I did not believe at all. I was still convinced that it was purely a vanity/useless item.
Being the sceptic I am, I decided to keep the next one and equip it during my daily/weekly mount grinding. I felt very let down after leaving Dragon Soul with no mount, so decided to test my luck else where.
I continued on with little luck, by the time I got to
my husband was cackling away, thinking I was a dummy for believing it would work... but he sure put his foot in his mouth, for behold
Swift Zulian Panther
Coincidence or lucky RNG I didnt know, but the power of the amulet had grown on me and now all I ever do is praise this darn amulet. So I thought I would test it again on my next Ulduar run, a real test of the times.
To be honest I really did not expect much, after all this was my hundreth run or something like that. Upon killing Yogg-Saron rarity pinged up on my screen and confirmed that
had dropped also. Could not believe it!
I am now
convinced that this is a magical amulet and wear it at every chance possible! It could be coincidence, but im not chancing it :p
Since last posting I have obtained several more mounts, all whilst wearing the amulet. I have been luckily obtaining one a week at the moment and still praising the almighty amulet.
Drops have been:
Grand Black War Mammoth
Ashes of Al'ar
Drake of the South Wind
White Polar Bear
Fiery Warhorse's Reins
Since posting last I have seen two more mounts drop, however decided to stop using the necklace for a few months and see what happened. No drops at all, none zilch zero! I decided to put it back on and I kid you not folks -
dropped! 40th Run (so just under a year of grinding as I don't tend to run instances on anymore than 2-3 characters). It's never going back in the bank again!
Armored Razzashi Raptor
and again whilst wearing the amulet! Maybe it is just coincidence, but I am superstitious and two drops in the space of two days? Rare indeed!
Please comment below if it works for you :)
I sold one to a noob for 500g today. Griftah would be proud.
I farmed Baron Rivendare 200+ times pre mop. I no lie, came to wowhead, read the comments that said people have equipped this and got lucky. I killed Baron ONE TIME after equipping this and the mount dropped. Armory Minimalism on Moonguard for achievement.
For those who come here and start reading the comments... and think omg i need to get this item asap this will help me get stuff... please read the following.
I bought the item on the ah to check it out.
Did Mogu'shan vaults, Sethekk halls, Tempest keep, Sunwell plateau, Stonecore x10.
okay so what did i get:
Mogu'shan vaults: no
(did get 2 rare quality items which can be sold for ~100g on the ah)
Sethekk halls: no
Tempest keep: 1
from the reaver (which is about 20% drop so nothing special), no
Sunwell plateau: bugged out for me so i can't check if i would've gotten the
(killed a boss too fast and it didn't register)
Stonecore (x10!): nothing, no
Don't get your hopes up this item will give you good karma and you'll suddenly get all the treasures you ever wished for. Unless i did something seriously bad in the previous life this is just some normal item that is worth exactly its vendor price and nothing more.
Honestly i call bull^&*! on 90% on the posts in this comment section :p
Feel free to answer with what your findings are :)
Happy hunting without $%^&ty neck!
Well maybe its true, because I selled
Talisman of True Treasure Tracking
on the Auction House for 30K G for laugh and someone buyed it and I finally got
Vial of Sand
with the money.
THANKS TO GRIFTAH
I've always sold this item to a vendor without even really reading what it says.. So today for some reason I thought I'd read it. It intrigued me so I thought I'd wowhead it.
I read all these comments saying how it's worked for them 1st go on the next mount farm they did wearing it.. I thought what the hell give it a go.
I got it from the Garrison follower mission, sent it over to an alt to do 25H Firelands which I've been farming for over a year now on 2 characters.
My goal has always been to get the Pureblood Fire hawk from Ragnaros.
I killed Alysrazor and went to vendor all the items on my tundra as I do with the entire raid (make around 3k farming firelands) then noticed one didn't sell. I clicked it again to sell then realised it was a mount.
Unbefreakinlivable.. it dropped Flametalon of Alysrazor..
I'll admit I didn't even realise he dropped a mount :S.. But man was I happy.
I'm actually so amazed..
I finished firelands with no luck on the Pureblood Fire Hawk from Ragnaros .. Still buzzing from the mount drop I thought I'd test my luck on 25H ICC (Lich king) for the invincible drop. Also no luck
I've read from reliable sources that it does nothing but how come for so many people they get that certain rare item FIRST run.. So hard for me to believe its just a coincidence :/
This must be how psychics get in your head to mess with you ;).
For those who think this will help you find the rarest of items, you should carefully read what it says and, pay close attention to the word
. It does not say
"increases your chances"
, it says
So, that being the case it may just as well say "You might find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales if you have this or not!"
IT'S SNAKE OIL!
"Wearing this, one
find the rarest of items in the most mundane of locales!"
Now, seriously I did not believe anything said in the Comment at all. But you know what, I just did some garrison mission and got this. Instead of selling it for the 8gold, i decided to wear for one night and do Ashes of Al'ar the next day. Believe it or not, I got it this week. I was amazed by how powerful this Amulet is. Happy farming guys.
For what it's worth...
I decided to see what would happen if I wore this necklace one day....you know, just for giggles. Did some legacy raids (BT and Sunwell specifically), and got Thoridal and the offhand Warglaive.
Since then, I have been somewhat sold on the idea of wearing this when there is a chance at random loots. With as many bags of goodies as we get these days in Legion, I have found ample opportunities to swap this thing on.
I honestly don't know if this thing works or not, but in my experience I have witnessed an increased frequency of phat loots when I swap this thing on for 5 seconds to open a bag or loot a boss.
Might all be in my imagination, might be the RNG gods messing with me, or maybe....just maybe...
HUZZAH ! Today I bought the Talisman and wore it into Ulduar and I kid you not....after hundreds of attempts....MIMIRONS HEAD DROPPED ! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I don't care what people say this thing is blessed. I have no reason to create an account on this site and make this post just to lie to people who are searching for a way to get the mounts or items the have strived for. PLEASE, GO TRY IT YOURSELF!
That one word speaks volumes. The mission is named
. Griftah also sells this item. 'nuf said.
You remember Griftah from TBC Shattrath? Purveyor of the finest necklaces in all of Azeroth, the Twisting Nether and the Great Dark Beyond!
(Would Blizzard ever troll the players?)
Completely serious no joking. Came here looking for info before selling to vendor and decided to try it out. Had Ashes of Al'ar drop 1st run with my mom after trying to get the mount for her and giving up on it last year after about 30 runs. Don't know if was just great RNG or what will try another in the next week or so and check it out, but it really felt lucky and she now is keeping it in her backpack to wear when farming.
I have been farming ZG for the Swift Zulian Panther for years now, running to the Priestess four times a day almost every single day. No drop.
Someone suggested I put this on. I had one in my bank I got from the Garrison mission table during WoD, and figured that I was going out there to run it anyway. Might as well give it a try. Years of running this dungeon for that mount on multiple characters, and if nothing happens, it's not like I've lost anything. I put on the necklace and run straight to the boss. She's the only mob I kill.
Panther dropped. I about peed myself. 10/10, would wear again.
Wow...I'm not even kidding...I was about to vendor this then came here to look real quick. It sounded tinfoily but I decided to try it out. I've been farming the Primeordial Direhorn mounts in Panderia for awhile, never got any of them. Today I popped this on and got the drop the first time instantly--WHAT!
Still not totally buying this, but I wore it in TK...no
. Thought.."I've been trolled". Then I flew over to
. I literally started playing again after about a 4-year break. I'm not a mount hunter, or at least I wasn't. I don't do weekly runs of TK or anything else. I will update this post if I have any more luck...this is just my experience.
was a bust.
Finally has a real use! This item begins the search for
Well well well, Seems like Grifter isnt a con man after all, He holds the necklace of insight of madness!
It's quite entertaining seeing most of the doubting comments in here be completely nullified since 8.1 hit. Love you guys xo
This also drops from Garrison table missions, I was tidying up a character's garrison stuff there today and it was award from an old mission that I hadn't collected. Since it doesnt appear to be BoP I might see if anyone wants it...
44 attempts on Onyxian Drake.....then a friend told me to get this crap :))))))) bought it, equipped it, dropped on first try... can't tell if this is high coincidence or what, but what were the chances... XD
This page has virus, disney channel posted video? how to fix
I'm not saying this thing works, but after 6 months of farming the Vinyl: Triumph of Gnomergan for the Mecha-Done achieve, I figured it was worth a shot, and put this item on before opening today's rec rig box, and BAM! there it was. Could have just FINALLY been my time, or maybe this item is awesome /shrug
I was skeptical, but it doesn't hurt to give it a try. Put it on and did my mount runs through 4 dungeons. No mounts drop. The people who keep posting that they put it on and the mount dropped on their next kill are either just getting the right random number or they are trolling. It was worth a try to check it out. It's just a joke item.
