The screenshot is a bit misleading since the Mushrooms are dropped by the ogres and can't be gathered.

I think if you do this at the same time as Impending attack it works out well 2 quests for one because they drop of the same mobs as where the plans are

Defenitaly drop best off the Sentries. I killed about 20 ogres, got 2 mushrooms. Killed 2 sentries, got 2 mushrooms.

Confirmed, droprate is a lot higher on the Sentries.

easily done with 64 fury warrior. 15 mins tops.

It took me 21 kills of only Sentries to get all 15 mushroom samples.

boss grog'ak actually drops 100% of the time if you're on the quest...

I found the drop rate very bad, best drop rate i found was off the Ango'rosh Sentrys around the bottem of the towers.

Boss Grog'ak seems to drop this 100%, so a good idea is to do circles around him to increase your drop rate.

With all the 'shrooms they've cut down, you'd think that there'd be at least ONE ground-spawn...

Or that some of them would be higher than a Netherdrake...

These mushrooms have a terrible drop chance. I'm getting one every 4-5 ogres.

Drop rate appears to have been increased, as the last two characters that I did this quest with got at least one shroom every two ogres, on average I got the 15 in around 20 kills.
