absolutely amazing for warriors, mine has it and it works wonders. I crit 600-1000 with MS. I reccomend it for any warriors/shaman/paladin wanting to PvP, otherwise it will be replaced with Ice Barbed SPear at level 51. For PvPing however, it knows no equal! The proc doesnt happen all that often, probably a 5% proc rate.
It's a worlddrop and its awesome for level twinked 49-ms-specced warriors.
This weapon not only looks great, but the proc on it totally pwns people, too. This weapon will almost definitely last you until level 60, unless you somehow find something better, but I know quite a few 60s who still use this weapon.
Although a great drop, unless I could buy this very cheap or got lucky enough to find it, I wouldn't go out of my way to find it because it can be easily replaced at 60.
Hunters, Shamans, and Warriors will love this axe. Throw +25Agil, or Crusader enchant and you'll be styling =)
Actually, for an arms warrior you will find better weapons before you hit 60.
Yes, Kang will stick it through for a few levels, but The NIcker (
) will be better for an MS spec. The slow speed, the high top-damage and the proc makes it a very viable weapon. And you get it already at lvl 53.
Ah, the Kang. This is pretty much the end-all be-all weapon of the 40-49 bracket for MS warriors, 2H Stormstrike shamans and Ret paladins. Great damage, incredible top-end, a rogue-killer proc and you basically have an item that will be used by twinks until the end of this game.
Pick one up if you plan on doing serious PVP in the 40-49 BG bracket, and toss a Crusader on it if you're hardcore. =P
i just found this sucker on a saltwater snapjaw in the hinterlands. i was just fighting some random turtles and found this! i'm rich! haha
I used to see alot of Shaman using this Axe in the 40-49 Twink bracket.
Got it for 80g at AH its sweet as
great weapon but the mace off princess is quite nice too
a wound and armor lowered by 100, dmg is decent too; so if you dont have 200g for the Kang run Mara a few times and get this.
i have it and Kang and cant decide which to put savagery on im a human paladin so i gain 5mace skill using the mace.
This dropped for my group in Zul'Farrak from Antu'sul along with
wow were can i get this it would be great for my new warrior?
Or were will it drop the most plz tell?
how hard can it be 2 get this if u farm all the time with a 65 rogue? i just dont no were 2 get this BEASTLY item
i got it while i was grinding at felwood yesterday, it dropped from a Deadwood Pathfinder ^^ i want to sell it because i am a priest levelling and i have no Alt twink to give it to, and the money is always welcome :P
can you guys tell me for how much should i sell it?
i have one of my own. i bought it out for 75g. but i have one question, is this weapon useful for Hunters too who have learned 2-handed axes?
This is the best twink weapon for 49. That's pretty much the only reason to spend good gold on this.
caught it on AH for 7 gold (poor boy)
i am hunter and with my melee equipment (i do really melee when am out of ammo and bored to make:P - kinda noobish eh?:P) i wield it , i have 15 agi on it and i hit 800-900 with raptor strike! :)its really cool! :) if u can get it with 15 agi and u are hunter then its good at anw! :)
Ouch .. Kang the Decapitator ... really awesome item for ench shammys and warriors.Add crusader or savagery and BOOM !! The work is done. All i have to say is that this weapon is very good a great twink item and if you are a ench shaman or warrior i prefer u get it quick :D
If an Enhancement Shaman want to buy this axe think this before:
this axe have no stats and the Chance on hit is not too great (56 dmg every 3 sec for 30 sec IF it proc, with about 5% proc rate on a 3.6 speed weapon)
with the 2.3 patch some item are buffed like this axe:
Will of the Mountain Giant (
that axe give you 44.3 dps (only 3 less than kang) but also 20 str (40 AP - 13 spell dmg/healing with mental quikness 3/3 after 2.3 patch) and 19 stama (nice for pvp)
the first step of this quest is avviable since lvl 41 and are:
after you complete this two chain you will see this quest:
that give tou the weapon, but wowhead say you need lvl 45 to do it (i'vent completed it yet with my orc shaman lvl 42 so i don't know if is right)
i know is a long chain but you will save up to 250 gold and mabeye you can think to use it for a savagery or something else if you want to be a twink (
Reagents: Large Prismatic Shard 4, Arcane Dust 40 )
I easely sold mine for 185g. Dropped in searing gorge.
Will of the mountain giant has a faster speed yes but you arn't looking for speed when it comes to damage. Now for kang it has a slow speed but a high dmg range and the proc. makes it do even more. MS wars should have slow high dmg dealing weapons in my opinion
Kang the Decapitator literally has a cult following on Al'Akir for absolutely no reason - one person will link it and it will be followed by a barrage of 'Chuck Norris uses Kang' and other stuff, trade channel is perpetually flooded by it.
pala have good use of this if they're not prot, beacause it has a good DPS and a ok chance on hit
Kang is NOT the best 2-handed weapon for warriors, paladins, hunters and shamans in the 40-49 bracket. This axe is inferior to another weapon that is slightly slower but that offers a higher damage range, namely Soulkeeper (
Soulkeeper offers a higher damage range than Kang, and for those who would point to Kang's bleed damage ability I have this to say: You'd be considered lucky to see this proc three times in a long battleground, so seeing consistent mortal strikes with higher damage across the board is far superior in the end.
What's more, this is an obvious choice for Shamans and Paladins because it provides valuable stats which make the choice an absolute no-brainer.
So the next time you see some chump wielding Kang in a battleground, just remember to laugh at them and their wasted 150+ gold as you roll them like a blunt, fill em with slugs and burn em slowly. Oh, and make sure you mention Chuck Norris as you wave them off to the graveyard.
actually this IS the best 2h axe. the proc adds so much damage in pvp it's insane.
Usually, by the time the proc has dealt its full damage the target has been dead for a while, thanks to the enormous MS hits. If you want a raw power axe, you might also look for Executioner's Cleaver. Much cheaper as well.
When twinking out a warrior for the 49 bracket I thought about the difference between the Kang and Executioner's Cleaver (
), and they are VERY close. The cleaver has 23 str on it (46 AP), which actually brings the damage range of the weapons almost in line. Taking the extra AP into consideration, the cleaver has an equivalent top end of 202, and 45 DPS. Slightly lower than the Kang, but you also gain 1.3% hit, a stat which is tough to get on items in the 40-49 bracket. The Kang does have a proc, but as anyone who's used it will tell you, the proc rate is incredibly low.
If money isn't an issue (probably the case if you're making a twink) then the Kang does hit slightly harder. But if you're looking for a good weapon to use while levelling, definitely grab the cleaver since it will likely be half the price.
heres a question : trying too make an enhancment 49 twink as you know this weapon would be nice with stormstrike.. yet would it be better than duel wielding ?
In the argument between Executioner's Cleaver and Kang the Decapitator:
(DPS + (Attack power / 14)) X Weapon speed = Weapon Damage
(47.4 + (500 / 14) ) X 3.6 = 299.2
( 41.8 + (546 / 14 ) ) X 3.8 = 307.04
I got Executioner's with +9 Dmg (cause I'm not gonna waste tons of gold on mongoose) and the crits are very nice on my Ret Pally using Seal of Command.
I highly recommend this weapon for level 49 Ret Pally twinks.
Assuming you're Attack Power is at least 500... hopefully it's a lot higher. I'd say about 900+ for 49 Ret Pally with Blessing of Might
I think that Kang's Chance of hit Dispels Warrior rend. And Rend dispels Chance on hit
SO, what is the best enchantment you could put on this for a 49 ms twink war?
Pallies using staffs? What WoW do you play?
haha, i think the name "kang" referens to one of the aliens in the simpsons series :)
btw, the other aliens name is "kodos" X)
Kang is NOT the best 2-handed weapon for warriors, paladins, hunters and shamans in the 40-49 bracket. This axe is inferior to another weapon that is slightly slower but that offers a higher damage range, namely Soulkeeper.
Since when could a Paladin use a staff? Also, what Hunter in their right mind would use a weapon with zero agility, hit, crit, or AP? Not to mention neither of those classes have a spammable instant attack at 49.
Warriors will use Kang with axe spec, a Paladin can't even equip Soulkeeper, a Hunter would choose something with useful stats. I could see a stormstrike shaman use Soulkeeper for the slightly higher top end, unless it was an Orc, in which case the Axe Spec racial favors Kang as well.
No joke, when I twinked my shaman at level 49 with this and crusader on it people would run away from me.
Just got this twice in the same run, about 2 minutes apart. When I saw them I about had a heart attack. On my server they go for about 850 gold, too.
I recommend using this for SS shamans that are pvping at lvl 48-49, Use it with windfury and it gets insane dmg.
and although it had a good proc rate and dps. Kang would hit for much more with windfury
Just need to clear up a common misconception of Seal of Command.
There is not one single weapon speed in the game that will give you MORE SoComm procs. You could be using the 1.3 speed
or the 4.0 speed
, and you would still get the same NUMBER of procs.
This is because SoComm works on a procs per minute basis, 7 per minute to be exact. So while the proc RATE on Julie's would be much lower, its quick swing speed gives you on average the same number of procs as the Slicer in the same amount of time.
What this means is that the sole and only consideration that SoComm has in weapon comparison is your personal top end damage range with the weapon, however that is achieved.
You'll get the same number of procs in a minute with all weapons, so the remaining question is how big you want those procs to be.
Now that being said, Kang has the higher base top end, but when you calculate the 23 strength on
it ends up being an average of almost one full point of damage higher than the Kang when both are put in a zero attack power environment. Keep in mind this is only talking about the amount of damage per swing:
Kang: (136 + 205)/2 =
(no AP built in)
Exec: ((127 + 46/14*3.8) + (191 + 46/14*3.8))/2 ≈
(23 Str built in)
Weapon normalization doesn't even come into play here because we're talking about white damage. Only instant attacks such as Mortal Strike and Backstab were normalized; white damage still scales the same as it always has, and SoComm doesn't fall under that category either since it's more closely related to an extra attack mechanic. Additionally, this gap only widens as you add AP since Exec's weapon speed is 0.2 sec slower. At 500 AP Exec's lead grows to about 8.1. At 1,000 AP it leads by almost 15.3. All of this is before you even begin to consider percentile damage increases through talents.
In all cases, Kang leads in DPS by about 2.2 DPS since the AP is additive onto the original DPS of the weapon. So the bottom line is that Exec always has a higher top end whose lead only grows as you do, and Kang always has more white DPS. However, we still haven't factored in the 1.27% hit chance that Exec gives you. From my figures when you discount dodges and parries (easily doable by attacking from behind or while stunned), the hit rating really puts Exec's white DPS right up there with Kang's, and as your AP gets higher the DPS gap gradually closes until Exec finally overtakes Kang's DPS at the break point of 1708 AP. I wish you the best of luck getting that high at 49, but the hit rating is still worthwhile even before the break point as there's nothing more frustrating than a missed Hamstring, Execute, Hammer of Wrath, Stormstrike, etc. So I guess the new bottom line is that in an ideal gear load out that doesn't exist at level 49, Exec is better in every way.
Also, regarding the Windfury cooldown and losing procs to Flurry, Kang's Flurry speed is 2.77 and the Exec's Flurry speed is 2.92. Given the 3.0 second cooldown on Windfury procs, Exec and Kang will BOTH lose some procs. And before you say "Well, Exec doesn't lose as many as Kang," no, it doesn't work that way. If you proc WF on one hit and your next hit happens too fast to proc it again, it doesn't matter how much by which you fell short of the 3.0 goal; you're still not getting a proc until two swings from the first. So if anything, you want swing number 3 to happen FASTER if you can't get back to back procs, in which case Kang actually holds the advantage.
3.9 weapon speed is the fastest speed that doesn't lose procs with Flurry up, assuming you don't use Mongoose's +2% swing speed buff (otherwise it's still to fast; more food for thought on enchant selection). Unfortunately only nine weapons in the entire game are able to achieve this, and only three of them have the 4.0 speed necessary to get back to back WF procs with Mongoose up.
I just sold this on Jubei'Thos for 110G, I'm happy because our economy is really bad :)
Now I'm closer to my epic mount!
I have Kang, but I just bought
for my 49 lvl ret Paladin, what do you think of it?
I also have
but I am not sure about it. Any tips, thx.
Possibly belonged to Master Kang
I have kang with savagery and 2 bonesnappers with 20 agi/20 strength on my shammy twink and to say the truth, kang is too reliant on the proc of windfury itself and dual wielding bonesnappers work better coz there is a higher chance of windfury proccing ;). For anyone out there thinking of making a shaman twink, go for 2 bonesnappers with raw enchants like 20 agi or 20 strength not kang :P im sayin this coz i found out the hard way by spending over 700g for all of them. I mean dont get me wrong, u CAN 1 shot non twinks while using kang IF windfury procs but using bonesnappers will just delay it by a second or so :P.
Is the kang good for a Restro. Shaman
got mine wile farming trolls in hinterlands for my trinket, sold it at ah for 300g-i know the price is huge but i got a buy out the next day
I reccomend it for any warriors/
paladin wanting to PvP
If you are to go shaman two hand twink I'd say go with the
This one dropped for me this morning, just while questing. Now I'm thinking about lvling a shaman or arms warrior, maybe both and I was wondering if I should use it myself (and maybe put an enchant on it with my rogue, when I can use the weapon, or just sell it.
What would you do?
This weapon is my first epic drop, and I'm so happy about it! I just got this on my 50 pally while running through BRD, I got lucky that the Warrior was prot and didn't want it.
whats the drop rate on this?
on turalyon this baby goes for loads i got 1000g for mine but my dad only got 500g i think it depends on your timing of when you put it in the AH... but turalyon has alot of twink weopons on the AH
I have purchased the Kang two days ago for only 100G (Drak'Thul EU). Probably I was pretty lucky. Today I put Mongoose on it and Im looking forward to lv49 to farm some BG honors with it. Im not a twink, but I like to touch all the famous weapons in WOW and Kang is most definitely one of them. More over... the Mongoose sparkling effect on it looks awesome on it!
although needs higher lvl much better than
by far but it is strange that its better than
even though lower lvl
Rumored to be the axe of Martin Luther Kang himself.
How does this compare to
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper
for a level 49 twink? Thanks
Chance on hit ticks for 56dmg per 3sec.
TO ALL YOU MATHEMATICAL GENIUSES. YES, I AM CPT OBVIOUS.
At level 49 Stats for
Bloodied Arcanite Reaper
16 Crit Rating (1.45% @ L49)
This seems to be superior to both
. The only downside would be the limit to only Pre-BC enchants. But for most classes you'll be using
anyways which this IS eligible for.
As it was stated by our friend on one of the last posts.
I'm just bumping it so people can see it, comment on it and rate it.
Where's the best place to look for this item? Would it be better to look for it in a certain instance or are there certain mobs in large numbers that drop it? Seems like it doesn't often appear in the Auction House and if it does, it's snapped up quickly.
Nevermind, I got my Kang The Decapitator and it lives pretty well up to it's name. It handles quite well but I find that that the "Chance on hit" doesn't occur as often as I would like it to. Cost me around 500g too, so it wasn't cheap.
I got Kang from AH recently for my shamy twink and put Mongoose on it. Tried many BGs at lv47 with it. When all proc went out (AGI from Mongoose, proc from Kang and WF + crit from shamy) I was able to one-shot anyone under 2K HP.
But the probability was very very low and I myself have only one screenshot with 1.7K windfury burst (I took the picture almost accidentaly while screaming out loud).
For my 49lv shamy twink I went Double-Wield and the overall DPS performance was much much better.
My recommendations for Shamy: if you want to see enemies running in fear and if you want once in a while feel like a burst DPS monster, go for a Kang and enchant it with Savagery or even Mongoose. But for a balanced DPS, go for DWield with some rare slow one-handers. You will dominate the BGs as well.
can some1 post or link the best gear +enchants for a lvl 49 twink warrior...I thinking of making one so i need your advices
wheres kodos the decapitator lol
This one is better than the Heirloom one for a level 49 twink arms-warrior due to:
The bleed does more damage due to 30% bleed increase talent.
I just found one of these while farming yesterday. The funny thing is, there were Satyr stadning around a chest in Azshara. I was hoping to just get the chest and be on my way, but they had other plans. 4 Satyr attack me, 1 drops Felcloth, 1 has normal drops, 1 drops Basilisk Bone
, and finally one drops this, Kang the Decapitator. I was stunned, to say the least. I havent slapped it on AH yet, but i know it'll sell for a lot.
Hmmm. I used this for my hunter, and only kept it because it's the first Epic I ever picked up :\ But,
I do recommend selling it if you're not a ret pally or warrior.
I saw a hunter with this today.... I cried...
Got this off the AH for 280g and it's worth every copper. My MS crits for 800, Overpower for 600-800. This axe can take a clothie down in seconds.
I loved this Weapon! I bought it from
(price 40g) ... In WSG 40-49 I can kill all enemies with my Retri Paladin and this Weapon!
I can say only one... "Its the best weapon from level 44 to level 51+)
i got it from antu'sul from Zul'Farrak random dropped :D!
It also drops from the raptors in Un'Goro. Thats where I got it. Just sayin'
Where is Kodos the Decapitator?
Before parting with your hard earned gold to buy Kang, bear in mind that Sul'thraze the Lasher has exactly the same stats (unreliable procs aside) and is relatively easy to get.
An orc in a suit sneaks around Orgrimmar, and ends in a table with two orc ladies there. Of course, a man must introduce himself in the proper way.
"My name is
Gave one away on Antonidas last year to a lvl 40 Warrior as one of my "Giveaways" to find out he sold it to a to a hunter for 300g! What a waste....
Just got this from
from turning in
in the Blasted Lands. I was pretty shocked to see its name pop up.
Back in classic, i was playing my rogue.
I found this axe on my round of picking herbs next to dire maul.
I added a giant and vanish was still on cool down, i barely killed it and when looting it, Kang was presented to me!
I then rolled a warrior, being the only logical conclusion for dps 2h on horde side and i fell in love with the class and played warrior ever since, thanks Kang! :)
I just found 2 of these on the Alliance AH for 3k... I bought em for my fury Warrior.
Sorry to anyone who's jealous now. :(
This just dropped in Winterspring off a Frostleaf Treant when I was questing. There is a difference in the wound bleed, mine says 600 damage over 30 sec. Everything else is the same except instead of 136-206 damage mine has 136-205 damage.
With a recent patch, there is (almost) no limitation on what can be enchanted on what. Most enchants now scale down to level, and thus, things like Kang and BoAs can be enchanted with things we could have never dreamed of awhile back.
To see how they scale
check out this spreedsheet
Kang the Decapitator
officially dropped from a Greater Lava Spider in Searing Gorge.
Just got it in a
Dropped for me 12/29/2016 from a Venomhide Ravasaur. Conveniently I was playing my fury warrior pandaren girl Xiaya. I have full heirlooms so using it is pretty much for PVE for a few levels and maybe style points.
This dropped for me yesterday, from a Deadwood furbolg (not the chieftain) in the Felwood. Playing a level 49 shaman, item identified as level 61. I find it's a tossup between this weapon and going with two weapons, which allows for some better special attack spells that depend upon the second weapon.
Got an 36 ilvl version of this from an emerald encrusted chest (the turn in reward from the flawless draenethyst sphere quest item)
10 - 23点伤害
