This thing looks awesome. Almost worth getting to Exalted just to wear it :)
Once you're Exalted with the League of Arathor you are given a quest. You must control all 5 bases in Arathi Basin and as a reward you get this cool tabard. :)
Ha, the Defiler's looks far cooler :p
This is probably one of the coolest looking tabards in the game.
The most bizarre thing on the tabard says "Requires The League of Arathor - Hated"
I'm assuming that they had meant to make it available to all and purchaseable with marks but perhaps forgot add it to the vendor.
I assume this item is still quested upon exalted with Arathor.
Of course, can't really test this as I don't know anyone that's near exalted :)
Yes, because yellow is a "girl/homosexual" color just because it's yellow.
I'd advise you to grow up. It's annoying to see "gay" used as an insult.
You gain reputation with Arathor by competing in Arathi Basin.
10 Reputation is gained at multiples of 160 resources. (160, 320, 480, etc...)
On Arathi Basin weekends reputation is given at multiples of 150 resources. (150, 300, 450 etc...)
Reputation can also be gained by doing a few quests given by NPCs near the battlegrounds entrance.
WoWWiki Arathi Basin Reputation Rewards
-Edited to account for changes made in 3.2. The number of resources needed to win a match were reduced to 1600, thus lowering the levels that reputation is given at.
here is the link for the AB tabard for horde "Defiler's Battle Tabard"
It is the exact same quest and cost for it.
Today I just hit exalted with The League of Arathor. Once exalted you can pick up the quest "Control Five Basis". Upon completing the quest your reward is the tabard. So good luck to anyone getting exalted. Took me a long time being on alliance side.
Just a note, you MUST be 999/1000 exalted in order to unlock the quest to get the tabard. You don't immediately gain access to it upon hitting exalted.
I grinded this tabard from honored to exalted in about a month, and it was so worth it, looks awesome with the paladin S3 set.
Sounds hard. ;_;
Does anyone know if this is re-obtainable? I destroyed mine way back in the day, and now it would be welcome on my Tabard count! :)
I love this tabard.. But its almost impossible to get.
Requires many hours of your time, and even huge chunk of your life if you plan on hardcore grinding this.
I understand hard.... but this is just stupid hard... being on allinace side, we almost lose every game... makes this tabard x10 harder to get.
I don't understand why is it that WSG and AV tabards are purchasable from a vendor and AB is not... what makes AB so much more different? Wsg is just as hard as Ab to grind rep for.
Just got mine today. I hit exalted with League of Arathor a couple days ago, and first AB I did today happened to be a 5 cap for alliance. As long as the grind was, it was well worth it. I find it to be a status symbol more than anything.
Definitely not as cool as the Defiler's tabard that the Horde get.
Personally compared to defilers its a rlly stupid tabard
I was wondering if you're able to get this on a level 29 twink
Looks like Stonehenge :)
Arathor, the first human nation to succeed in uniting the other kingdoms of the lands. The origin of the modern day Alliance.
The picture on this tabard reminds me of Stonehenge a little.
In the screenshot the guy looks like a banana...
Matches golden NE eyes very well.
I just figured that the icon in the tabard looks like Stonehedge with a sun at the sky.Maybe Blizz inspired from this.
General facts and other neat information around Arathi Basin and the reputation grind:
Achievements for reaching exalted with
(Alliance) respectively awards
. These achievements are steps in
Once reaching exalted a quest will be avalible in Arathi Highlands (Hammerfall (H), Refuge Point (A)). The quests are
(A) and awards respectively
Most of the random achievements in Arathi Basin
are listed here.
Getting exalted with respectively Arathi Basin faction WILL take time. According to
you'll get 75 reputation per game. So prepare for the grind of your life.
Reputation gains for full victories
(reaching 1600/1600 points) during normal days:
It ticks every 160 resources you reach
Reputation gains for full victories
(reaching 1600/1600 points) during
Call to Arms
It ticks every 140 resources you reach
Can I get more reputation when farming AB than this?
If you're in a guild with
you will be getting
10% extra reputation
instead of 10
During normal days:
rep for a full victory.
Call to Arms
rep for a full victory.
Does it matter whether you win or lose the BG? Regarding reputation gains.
No, the only thing that matters is whether you reach the required resources or not.
E.g. Reaching 160, 320 etc or during CtA reaching 140, 280 etc. Of course you'll get more honor for winning.
How does this work if you have both
(Alliance only of course)?
They should be stacking and you should be getting 12 reputation per tick. Not quite sure about the exact number if they are both based on the base amount of rep or if they are based on eachother.
Are there any quests you can get extra reputation from?
Yes there are three quests. These are the same quests that have been in the game since Vanilla though, so you might have done them even though you might not remember it. The quests are avalible from Hammerfall (H) and Refuge Point (A) in Arathi Highlands.
One NPC per faction gives all quests:
There are one or two more quests called Standard/Advanced Care Package but they only award 10 reputation.
And no, Blizzard has no plans what so ever to change this reputation system. They like how this is in AB+WSG and would like to keep it as one of the few über grinds in game. The only fact we can rely on is that RNGesus plays a very little role in this reputation grind...
Updates as of 4.2
It appears that reputation gains has been
by approximately 30%.
You now get reputation during normal days for full victories:
rep. (66 with
It ticks every 260 resources you reach
. (Up by 100 resources.)
And during Call to Arms:
rep. (88 with
It ticks every 200 resources you reach
. (Up by 60 resources.)
This is in my opinion outrageous and I'm hoping it gets reverted.
From friendly, if you were to fit in one AB game every single day, it would still take you close to 520 days (over 17 months) to reach exalted (that's assuming you get around 75 rep per game; the estimated long-term average). How people were able to get Justicar during TBC is beyond me. >.<
Alright,so i have really bad news.. The tabard is no longer available as of patch 5.0.
I have just reached exalted, was on my way there to grab the quest ( Control five bases ) when i realized that it was not there,I though alright,it might be a bug or something. So i went on some forums and noticed that other people had the same problem. I still made a ticket though, and it turns out that the tabard is no longer Obtainable, nor is the quests. I forgot to print screen my ticket response, which is unfortunate..
Edit; It's back! Earned by getting exalted, and you can buy it for honor.
A GM has confirmed it is a bug. it will be available again
Horde version looks much better.
I can confirm from a Game Master that the quest rewarding the tabard has been removed. It is only a bug though and they also said it will be fixed in the new patch (5.0.4?)
The AB tabards are buyable from the AB quartermasters for 2679 honor at exalted on the 5.1 PTR.
If you want to complete the quest (which i *think* might unlock the tabard for restoration at the tabard vendor), now is the time to get your rep done and find someone who can share it.
This appears to now be purchasable at exalted from
Samuel Hawke <League of Arathor Supply Officer>
This post/guide was originally written for the horde faction. Nonetheless all the information/tips
also apply to the alliance faction.
Experiment. How fast could you get the
Achievement from scratch.
Reached level 24 = 4/30/14
Achieved exalted with the defilers = 5/21/14
Time between reaching the required level/achieving exalted = 22 days
-4 (wsg weekend = arathi bg's didn't pop)
-3 (days I didn't have time to play WoW)
-1 (reaching level 24/gearing process/farming professions)
Arathi basins played = 228
Arathi basins victories = 130 (57%)
Honorable kills gained = 10059
I've chosen to play in the 20-24 xp off bracket instead of max level for multiple reasons.
The queue times for an arathi basin battleground range from instant to 5 minutes.
The bracket population is gigantic due the fact that WoW is free to play up to level 20.
A geared level 24 twink can make quite the difference in a bracket populated mostly by free to play level 20s.
The win loss ratio is pretty much exactly 50/50.
Both factions tend to keep 2 bases all game long due the fact that only the slowest mount speed is available at this level.
The bracket is pretty balanced (besides hunters) and the absence of extensive crowd control effects (again besides hunters) is great.
Certain best in slot items require extensive grinding/instance farming but in general you can purchase all the heirlooms appropriate to your class/buy some decent enchants and you're good to go.
The only 2 items that you need besides gear would be the
for the extra rep gain and eventually the
for the extra health.
I've quite enjoyed farming the tabard for a second time.
It's definitely worth stopping your xp at level 24 for 2-3 weeks just for the purpose of getting exalted with the defilers/obtaining this beauty of a tabard.
I can't really judge how long it would take to farm this particular reputation at max level due the fact that
I haven't really played max level in ages
but I'm just gonna assume that it would take much longer than 2 weeks.
Proud to own one of these. Well worth the grind since I almost won every Arathi Basin on the way to Justicar.
From the Legion beta it seems that this tabard will
be usable across your characters with the help of the wardrobe. Hopefully this might one day be changed but the fact that some people(including me) will have to grind this reputation on multiplue characters is sad, especially since the tabard looks so amazing.
7.0.3 brings a huge nerf in difficulty to obtain this reputation and it's alliance/horde counterpart.
Since the legion pre-patch went live, the reputation gains changed to
50 rep / 100 resources
Thus you are capable to gain 750 rep each win, which adds up to 42,000/750=56
tl;dr It takes 56 wins to get to exalted as of Legion
11 years later and this is still one of the prettiest tabards in the game!
This is Still Reputation bound to X-mog as 8.0.1 :(
EDIT: 8.3, you can now use it on all chars and different factions
Buying this one unlocked the horde tabard as well for me, at least according to ATT addon, once I bought and deleted the tabard it said I had then also earned the horde one.
