If you wonder how much it cost to buy all weapons + armor from the previous level, for me it was 500k or so. A lot of gold, but also a good way for Blizzard to combat inflation.

Why you can buy this for gold at any level but for timewarped badges you need to be level 60? This is driving me mad.

As of 9.1.5, I tested this with a heirloom piece, and it was at:

item level 58 at character level 49, upgrade level 4/5
item level 58 at character level 50, upgrade level 5/5
item level 98 at character level 51, upgrade level 5/5
item level 146 at character level 60, upgrade level 5/5

In other words, the heirloom piece scales up approximately 1.18 ilevel per character level, from level 1~49, and approximately 5.33 ilevel per character level, from level 51~60.

As alternatives to the heirloom pieces, 160-ilevel green gear (requires level 60) is usually cheap in the Auction House, so is 129-ilevel green gear (requires level 56). However, 93-ilevel green gear (requires level 50) is usually quite pricey in the AH.

Considering how pricey the 93-ilevel greens are listed in the AH, these 永恒传家宝刃鞘 and 永恒传家宝装甲涂层 are worth it if you want to enjoy the near-maximum character power from level 51~59.
