I just looted this item from Krik'thir the Gatewatcher during the PTR testing phase for the pre-patch event. It is possible it could also drop from the other spawned bosses, but I've heard no other drops of this item yet.

This serves as a new, HD version of the Haunted Memento.

It will spawn a transparent 'soul' to follow you around for 20 seconds, every 10 minutes. A buff will go onto you, called 'Accursed.' The description is the same as the Haunted Memento's 'Haunted' buff; "Something is with you....."

The soul that follows you is an updated soul graphic, presumably a soul from Torghast or The Maw. I'll be submitting a screenshot of it shortly.

If anyone could confirm it drops off more rares than just Krik'thir, that'd be great.

So this seems to be a random drop from any of the rares in icecrown, albeit a rare one. This item can be traded to other players and sold via the AH.

Don't know what this does besides spawn a weird ghost, but I managed to sell mine for 75000g. Frankly, I thought the high prices were BS and didn't think anyone would actually buy it so i undercut other people on my server for quite a bit. Just know that if you plan on selling this don't do what I did, but on the other hand I'm poor so a 75000g cash injection is nothing to scoff at.

After doing some testing, as of now I can confirm that the Accursed Keepsake's effect does NOT stack with the Haunted Memento's effect. When you have both in your bag, the Haunted Memento seems to overwrite the Accursed Keepsake entirely. If you bank the Memento and then immediately withdraw it, the Keepsake's specific buff and accompanying shade will spawn instead of the Memento's, but never both at once or a mixup of the two. This is a big disappointment, and I'm hoping it's just a bug. Will continue to test!

The drop chance on this item seems abysmal. I am on my 4th cycle of killing most of these rares and I have seen a single one drop, despite being in a group most of the time. Maybe my luck is just awful but this is really disappointing for me as I was looking forward to having these as I don't have any haunted momentos. Prepatch hype low with the drop rate of the only fun item available.

Can anyone confirm wether this is limited to once a day per rare or can you spam it indefinitely? in other words, did anyone get it on a second or third daily kill of the same mob?

EDIT: Dropped one from Novos the Summoner on my third kill of the day, so i can confirm 100% it can be farmed indefinitely on the same toon.

Can drop from any of the Shadowlands pre-patch rares in 冰冠冰川. They spawn every ~~20 minutes~~ 10 minutes now on a specific rotation and can be killed and looted multiple times per day. It is a reference to the old 闹鬼的纪念品 from the Wrath of the Lich King pre-patch.

So I have done research and have actual results of how it interacts with the haunted memento. Accursed spawns every 10 minutes while haunted seems to spawn every 5. Because of that, the haunted will overwrite the accursed if it's in a "higher" bag position than the accursed keepsake and prevent the accursed keepsake from spawning since neither will spawn while a non combat spawn is already out, such as the memento spawn. This can be avoided by keeping the accursed keepsake higher in your bags than the haunted, or if that doesn't work for you, you can also put both into a bank, take out the accursed keepsake, then 2 minutes later take out the haunted memento. Hope this helps anyone with both

Big Red Raygun toy and Shadow Priest's Glyph (Shadowy Friends) also interact with the ghost. It is treated as a companion so any toy/glyph that automaticaly affects companions/pets may interact with it (unless it needs to be applied manually to it as you cannot target it)

Price now below 18.500g - if you're thinking this will the the new Haunted Memento, you're a fool. Overabundance and ''money gurus'' advice, means everyone and their ogre pets now have 10-20 per realm.

Seems like theres cap on how many of those you can have. After ive tried to trade for it i got " you cant have more of those on your account"paraphasing. Had to quickly find someone trusted who could carry one for me. Not sure what to do now as still lots of time left and i want to farm more.

//edit ok so what ive found out you can keep keepsakes in guild bank (i have private guild on bank alts so its safe), not sure if that makes you elligible to loot more, but at least i can have more than 5. Having 7 right now and will have eyes open for more.

You get a buff when the Ghost spawns. The buff called Accursed so you can track it. It reads "Something is with you..."

This doesn't drop in personal loot, it's also a Common rarity item. So I suspect it's first come first served, can any one else confirm this?

I got one on a fresh 50. Killed a rare omw to pick up quests.

Only noteworthy thing was that I did not get Pitch Black Scourgestones when the Accursed Keepsake dropped. I double and triple checked the logs, and no Pitch Black Scourgestones in my bags.

Can someone please explain to me what the benefit is of having this?
I see that there is a "buff" when the soul appears, but what does it DO exactly? Does it raise any stats? Increase loot chance? What?
I'd just like to know if I'm missing something here, because I'm getting tired of it and would like to get rid of it if it's just a cosmetic effect.

When the spirit is haunting you there are some souls in shadowlands areas that will do an emote to the effect of "xx cowers in the presence of yy" when you are near them. I can't remember if it was in the Maw intro or one of the questing zones but it seems like it was very early on. I wish I had made note of where it happened and will edit here if I find it again. I was just too into the new stuff to stop at the time.

I came on to see if this item was of any use.

From what I gather is appears not to gain me rep honour or the ability to purchase something it is of no use in combat and won't port me to anywhere. essentially then like battle pets and extra mounts I believe if I have assessed this correctly the item is of no use.

Does anyone concur please?

When spawning, the ghost makes a sound that is akin to what I can only describe as a "roaring valkyr". This sound is audible to everyone around you; I was driven half-mad during the Pre-Patch event when I kept hearing this sound and couldn't figure out what was causing it. (I only figured it out after receiving this item and it spawning a few times!) It's this item proccing, and Ketho has a "mute sound" string posted in a comment on this page, if you are so inclined.
