After a few weeks of researching the Broken Mirror system, we've learned that there are 4 groups of 3 Broken Mirror locations which might differ on select server regions, and that they can sporadically change during the week for no apparent reason. This makes maintaining a "this week's mirrors" post not doable, as the "correct group" can be different for everyone.

However, the good news is that there is a format to these Broken Mirrors. They always come as a preset group of 3 Broken Mirrors, and there is a total of 4 groups. This means that by finding one Broken Mirror yourself, you will know the location of the other two from that group.

To discover which Broken Mirrors are currently active on your realm, proceed to one of the Broken Mirrors of each group, and if you find one, then you will know where to find the remaining two, as the groups do not change!

Extra Notes:

I've spent a lot of time looking for Broken Mirrors (Venthyr Travel Network rank 3). Based on this, and verified by other players, I can state the following:

There are 4 sets of 3 Broken Mirrors which lead to chests you can loot once a day.
The set of Broken Mirror locations typically changes every weekly reset, but can also randomly change!
The drop rate for transmog pieces and mount seems fairly low.
Other rare drops include 小岩的注能红宝石 and non-set transmog pieces.
Tip: Running low on Infused Rubies? Soulbind to Nadjia, as one of her perks boosts Infused Ruby gains by 20%.

Bug: It appears Broken Mirrors will sometimes send you to Sanctuary of the Mad, and not to a chest room. If this happens, simply go through the same Broken Mirror again, and this time it will send you to the chest room.

with the reagent for tab having 12 uses for this it makes me wonder if there are 12 portals hidden around. I found the first 2 easy, the third with a comment point it out. I'm wondering if there's not 2 in each major zone, and where those 2 are in each... just a hope of mine, will be seaching! i'm in the secrets discord and the wowhead one so hmu (dariiamn) if you want a seaching partner

Very rarely, the repaired mirror can incorrectly port you to Sanctuary of the Mad instead of a treasure chest room. I assume this is a bug.
You can go back to the mirror you repaired and it should (hopefully) take you to the treasure room.

Has anyone run into an issue where all 3 mirrors (I've checked all 12 locations) no longer appear after being at Tier 3? My mirrors have been MIA for nearly a week now..............

Tried WM on and off, didn't seem to help. Not sure is it related to my Ember Court having just been leveled to T2? I recall this happening at the same time my mirrors went MIA.

So today I maxed out my anima with the doors and received the last 2 quests for those. Afterwards, as you all know, we get a quest to repair the mirror across the hall with a free repair kit. Did the quest and am now able to but additional repair kits. I bought 5 right away in hopes of finding the mount. The first I found was at (way 27.15/21.63) in the Spider room. Crush them there spiders, fix the mirror, and wow, its covered in chains and won't allow me to enter it. So how do we remove these chains and/or gain access to them all after doing the final quests?

They need to get rid of "Sanctuary of the mad" teleport when you use one of these mirrors. It's so annoying.

spend an hour going to each location people have found and listed so far for a rng drop...only to find no mirror at any known locations.. awssomsauce, best upgrade ever in the most navigable zone there is, fantastic excellent outstanding

Some smart person needs to adapt a sharable code like npc/rare scanner or gatherer share to report where the days mirrors are supposed to be. Or maybe make a community just for the purpose of saying where they are.

here's a macro i made of what I think it the best path to take to see what set of mirrors are up if no one else posted for the day

Has anyone else been farming the Pet, to sell? Or been trying to, rather...?
After I got all the collectibles, I sold my first Stony for 125k, got another after 2 more days, another easy 125k.
But now, I've been doing mirrors for about 2 weeks, nothing. Anyone else been doing this? Gotten more pets, or none?

This was happening to me all the time, this is how I stopped it:

After repairing the mirror, wait a few seconds, you'll see it flicker and change slightly. Now it should be safe to use.

I got my 3rd Stony today behind mirror in the Spider room.I am still repairing mirrors w/ two alts only because this cute, very rare and expensive pet, not single one on AH on my sever ATM, last known price was 264K gold.

These extra-broken mirrors that take you to Sanctuary of the Mad is getting pretty old. Seems to happen every day or 2. Anyone found a fix? Getting tired of finally fighting through all the mobs and getting to the mirror, just to be transported halfway across the map and having to start all over again.

I don't know if anyone has ever seen it (especially if we are coming here every day for the locations) but Wowhead has an all-in-one page that says what the X of the day is for many things in Wow. I just found it as I was looking for Summer Festival info. In fact, its on the main page. There is a section called 'Today in WoW' and you can find group up today on there.

Finally, I got another Stony, and this one I'll be keeping for myself.
I've sold 3 for some real good gold, but I think I spent close to a month of doing mirrors, before getting this one.
I'm done, I'm deleting my pile of repair kits.

What mirror group is today?

Check which battle pet world quest is active - they match up! 😮

Thanks to Emerno (go upvote!), we now know the mirror group matches with the active battle pet world quests in Revendreth. If each world quest is active right now, so too will the corresponding mirror group (see mirror group locations below).

Ashes Will Fall (Scorch) = Group 1
Resilient Survivors (Sylla) = Group 2
Eyegor's Special Friends (Eyegor) = Group 3
The Mind Games of Addius (Addius the Tormentor) = Group 4

Has it always been that way? I don't know, but that would have saved me a lot of lost sleep if I had known! 😖

Group-Finding Macro

There is also a script by Tiefflieger (go upvote!), you can put this into a macro, stick the macro button on your action bars, and just click that each time you're ready to go check the mirrors!

Okay, okay... but I have been getting a bit slack with this recently, so I might stop this soon... at least now everyone knows how to find the group easily for themselves!

I updated the mirror group here in this comment (and previous ones) each day in the early morning EU time, from around March 2021 to April 2022. How? I literally ran (and then flew) from location to location to check.

My flying route was from Sinfall, to the cooking pot in the north for group 1, to the Charred Ramparts ground floor for group 2, then over to the Shrouded Asylum for group 4. If it wasn't any of those 3, I knew the active group was group 3, which was a little further away. If the previous day was one of those 3 groups, then it was often even easier to check, as I could just miss checking that one!

Anyhow, just wanted to say thanks a lot for all the support and encouragement everyone has given me over the year or so that I was updating this. Working from home because of COVID, it's been great to have this as a reason to get up early each morning! But it was an extra bonus seeing all your kind comments. Thanks!

As far as the mirror bug of being sent to the Sanctuary of the Mad, I have been experimenting for about a month. I am now reasonably sure if you allow the mirror to fully form before trying to step through it you will not be sent there.

Man people do a terrible job of explaining what's going on here...

First you create ALL of the mirrors for the Sinfall Covenant and you must finish all the quests for them too.

Once you do the quest opening up the last mirror you'll get the quest 修修补补 Repair the mirror for the quest and turn it in and you'll be able to buy 手工制作的镜面修复工具 from 西蒙妮 for 注能红宝石

NOW, you're finally ready to use all the info on this page about finding the active group, etc.

This is the chest that you find, so you can check what can be in it and whether it's worth all this...

Anyone else take a good look at the details in some of these rooms? Particularly the mirror in Group 4, " /way #1525 55.12 35.67 Mirror, Inside Crypt with Nobles "? I like to carefully look at all the details in various new places, partially always on the lookout for secrets, and partially for fun.

This room has a whole lot of copy-pasted material in it, lol.

There's 4 tables: 2 of those are the exact same tables. There's 6 bookcases: 2 of them are the exact same with the same contents in the same place, and the other 4 are the exact same as each other. I think they may have actually split the room down the middle and copy-pasted it to the other side, and just changed one of the tables and the painting! I mean, that's certainly an efficient way to create an entire room quickly. xD

I've also noticed none of the chairs in these Broken Mirror rooms are able to be sat in, which is... really weird, as far as WoW chairs go. I honestly don't know how many un-sittable chairs I've encountered in WoW, if any. Mind you, I just unlocked the Broken Mirror network, and completed my first set of 3 mirrors just now. But I think it's safe to presume the rest of the rooms are like this.

Just some random, useless details I've noticed. Anyone else notice more?

Here are some updated versions of the scripts posted earlier.

This is the script to tell you which group is active. The other version of the script did some stuff with adding the quest to your watchlist to see if it was up or not. This one simply checks if you've completed it or if it's active, without doing anything to your watchlist.

Here are the TomTom waypoints for each group. I added a bit to the descriptions to state which part of the zone it's in, which makes it easier to take the right transport mirror. I also added quest completion checks, so it will only add the waypoint if you haven't already looted the chest inside. With the bug taking you back to Sanctuary of the Mad sometimes, it's nice to be able to just run the group's block again (via Paste) to re-add it, without having to check which one matches the one you need.

If you have an addon like Paste, or don't mind running 12 separate commands each time, here's a single block that will add the correct group of waypoints, based on which quest is up, for the chests you haven't opened yet. The descriptions have to be a bit brief to fit within the character limit, but you can just run this same block each day to add the three waypoints.

Please, don't be stupid like me. I've come back to do all of the covenant side stuff for mounts now that Dragonflight has launched, and in my ignorance I didn't look into it enough.

You get *3* chances at the mount/transmog/whatever you want a day. Each mirror you repair takes you to a chest that you can loot. I was stupid and thought you repair all 3 mirrors, and then they all take you to the same place. No. No they do not.

Don't be stupid like me. I've wasted a little over a week's worth of loot like this.

Bug: It appears Broken Mirrors will sometimes send you to Sanctuary of the Mad - is still true in 2024. It happened to all 3 mirrors and I had to keep coming back to them three times :/
