Some information
Lost anima crystals share through your account. This means if you found one it will not be there when you bring another char.
Dont sure if glich but npc only cratfs a mallet for the character who started collecting shards. I got 4 by a DK and 7 by a mage. Npc refused to talk with my mage but when I bring dk he accepted to craft the mallet.
There must be more then 10 shards (I found 11) but 10 is good.
You actually cant track how many shards you already collected, so keep it in the mind. I will add a macro to track when be sure it works.

Appears to require the achievement for all 50 anima crystal shards now, checked if I could get the mallet every few crystal shards, but could only get it once I got

Take warlock if you can. Gate is definitely such a thing since we cant fly yet :)
We did like 12 shards so far and used gate for atleast half of them to get them easier

Are you missing an Anima Shard?
This is the post for you! The script below is numbered accordingly with the Quest ID's assigned to the Anima Shards, and fit into the "/macro" window four at a time if you copy/paste them. If you are unfamiliar with macro usage in WoW, I would recommend you check out
this guide
for a reference, otherwise, you can just copy/paste these one at a time into your chat window. The script will show "true" if you have already collected that shard, and "false" if you have not.
PLEASE NOTE*** The Scripts are aligned to Zarillion's post specifically, although if you look closely between that post and varenne's, I believe the coordinates are the same, just with slight variation in positioning. I used Zarillion's coordinates as TomTom waypoints and then used varenne's post as a visually friendly reminder of where I was looking, and they all matched up. Please go ahead and upvote if this helped you to pin for others who need it!

Don't bother trying to slowfall off the edge. There's a rock ledge path that lets you walk right to the shard. Facing the edge of the cliff look to your left for some rocks that slope down under the cliff.

Thought I would add some information about the five dungeon shards! Coordinates were not available for me so I had to search around.
There are two shards in Necrotic Wake. The first one is after the first boss, and you will pass right by it while clearing trash to the next boss. There is a large, shattered bell that's fairly hard to miss. Go on the other side of the bell and you should see the shard lying in the rubble. You can actually see the shattered bell on your map of the dungeon! It should be at the bottom of the map, beneath two small green pools.
The second shard in Necrotic Wake is located in "The Fall of Courage" which is the same area as the second boss is found. Once again, the location stands out on your map - You will see a small peninsula sticking out on the northeast side of The Fall of Courage. It will be on the broken bridge.
There are three shards in Spires of Ascension. The first shard is directly behind the first boss area. There are two comfy lounge areas to your left and right. The left lounge has a shard behind it.
The next shard is after the second boss area. Make like you're going to the Kyrian escort, ready to fly to the next area, then look to your left. Carefully placed behind the blue brazier, there will be another shard.
Last but not least, the final shard will be in the same area as Oryphrion, the third boss. Overlooking the hole in the middle of the room, there is a small pointed ledge. A shard will be on the ledge. You will be facing the shard directly when you defeat the boss and begin walking to the next Kyrian escort.

Right, I've just had a terrible experience trying to get this bloody thing. So I've spent the last excruciating 4 or 5 hours trying to get my hands on this mount and after about 20 goblin gliders, many deaths getting past elites and a ton of the hunter's disengage ability I just finished the last dungeon to get the crystals. I then head over to the angel dude and turns out I haven't completed it - I check the achievement and it's 49/50! 49! Any way to track which crystals you've already got?

This took a little over 4 hours for a group of 4 of us to complete. We were all Level 60. It is extremely tricky to get to a lot of the

. You need 50. It requires a lot of jumping onto pillars, ledges and in some cases, accessing inverted cliffs under a higher cliff -- most of the time we were like HOW are we supposed to reach that? I recommend having a group to do this with. Really helpful for each person to have a

suggest you go for these with a Demon Hunter character. Some of them seem nothing short of impossible without being a Demon Hunter. Only reason I managed to reach some of them was because of the unique demon hunter abilities, like double jump, metamorphosis and such. I'm not even sure you can get these with any other class, maybe warlock with their gateways.
Otherwise it's a fun treasure hunt. :D Gets you to explore the zone, all the little nooks and crannies. :)

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere or maybe I missed it but to be clear, if someone in either the Necrotic Wake or Spires of Ascension dungeons grab any of the crystals within the dungeon before you do, you will be unable to obtain the crystals yourself. So you will need to re-run the dungeon. I discovered this when I ran Spires of Ascension with four other lvl 60's in my group and someone else grabbed the first crystal before I did; making it so I could no longer see the crystal.

Keep track of which shards you've found with a single macro!
This macro is based on
GreenTurtle
's script, but reduced to show all 50 shards while using fewer than 255 characters. The macro will output something like the following to your chat window, where each shard you have collected is listed as 'true', and shards you haven't as 'false':

The shard numbers are arranged for Zarillion's shard order, so make sure that if you are following varenne's ordering that you cross-reference the shards.

A lot of people (reasonably) suggest DH as the class to use for this achievement, but I also strongly recommend druids (particularly feral, with its stronger stealth) for this endeavor.
Quite a few of these shards are in areas with high mob density-- including some pretty powerful elites that can and will kick your ass if you're doing this undergeared.
Druid is also quite handy for this task if you take the wild charge talent, which gives you a short CD jumping ability when in travel form. I'm pretty sure I only needed to glide for a single shard, while I was able to get to the others with either regular mobility or the wild charge jumpies.
DH is certainly going to be able to maneuver the ledges more gracefully, but stealth will save you a lot of time and headache.

When I was completing, there was one shard that I swear I clicked but that Handynotes said I didn't - when I went back, it was there.
When I select the achievement I now have found 50/50 but have not earned the achievement still for some reason.
Confirmed I have all 50 with scripts but still no achievement trigger. Submitted help request for now, 12 day eta o.O

So I did all 50 shards with my buddy earlier today, we both hit 50/50 but he got the achiev and mine just still says 50/50, I ran the script and every single one says true, I made a ticket and they wont help because they dont know the bug, I have posted this on the bug forums and many people have commented but still nothing, WHAT DO I DO? You dont need a glider for n°11 at 53.50 80.61. You can jump with a mount on the right pillar (when looking on it from the ledge/standing like the guy in the vid) and then on the one with the shard. preferably use a big mount.

Wow what a journey. Just finished this and got this pretty mount. Probably took me about 8ish hours, not including the time I sidetracked myself. Some of the shards are frustratingly annoying, but overall it was a fun experience and I had a good time.
Couple of things to note for some of the shards, hopefully this helps out some people. I'm a lvl 60 hunter, was about 140ilvl, not venthyr.
#3 - If you're struggling using the feather from Ardenweald, try this. Glide to the pillar, and jump onto the middle peak. From there, walk backwards onto the arc with the shard. You should land on it just right. After 25 wasted gliders, a YT comment with this advice saved my sanity.
#11 - If you don't want to waste gliders like me, I found it easier to jump from pillar to pillar on my mount.
#36 - Video guide shows feather being used for this. I'm terrible at using the feather and the 15 min cooldown is horribly long. So I managed to use my mount to jump to the closest pillar (with the slanted top) and then jump to the shard.
Citadel of Loyalty - The entirety of this Citadel was a nightmare. The general strategy I used was try to get as close to these shards as possible and die next to them.
#43 - Just run for your life getting to the corner this shard is in. I died then res'd and killed the mob that was standing there.
#44 - Other than #3, this shard was the most frustrating. What worked for me in the end was dying right by the pillar with the shard, and attempting jumps endlessly as a ghost. Once I got on the pillar, I res'd and slapped the shard as fast as I could. The timing must be really tight, cause the mobs still hit me faster, So I feign'd death and tried again and it worked. The other way is probably just killing the ranged mobs first before you attempt the jump.
#45 - Run for your life on your mount to where Rector is, go inside the building and die right in front of the bookshelf with the shard. Rector did not aggro me when I res'd, so got the shard easy peasy and hearth'd out of there.
Dungeon shards - Shards themselves are easy to access. Yes, you do have to play dungeons. I played both on normal LFG. For Necrotic Wake normal, if you get scaled to below lvl 60, I heard the shards will not show up. Not sure, since I got queued as lvl 60.

If you're a Druid you can do the Aspirant's Rest shard without a glider. Go behind the town and up the hill to 47.24, 74.10 (rocky formation overlooking Aspirant's Rest). Jump towards the pillar and immediately activate Flap. Once you're slightly past the first two floating pillars activate Cat Form. You should land exactly on the shard. It might take you a few tries to time it right but it's pretty effortless and saves you a glider.

So, I spent several hours gathering shards yesterday. I was tracking each shard so I'm almost positive i got them all. The achievement says I am 49/50 and the script returns that shard 44 is false. However, going to the spot where shard 44 is, in the original post YT video, the shard is not there. Has anyone else experienced this?

For Shard #44: As others have said, if you don't stick the landing the first time you try, just get as close to the pillar as possible, let the NPCs kill you there, then attempt the jump as many times as you need to

until you land on the pillar. Rez on the shard and grab it. You may get aggro when you rez; if you can shadowmeld/vanish to drop aggro or fear/stun the mobs, do that, then grab the shard. Otherwise, I think you would have to just click it and hope to finish the channel between smacks.
I was able to get all of the shards as a DH...glide saves lots of time either by being able to use it instead of the feather (or as a shortcut to practically float all the way across the map to the next shard from some of the higher-placed shard locations). Priests may be able to enjoy the same benefits from levitate, druids have successfully used flap, and outlaw rogues have had success using grapple. Use whatever makes your life easier, because some of these landings can be a frustrating challenge to nail.

I wasn't able to see actual coordinates while in the dungeons, so I did need to refer to the video so that I knew where to look. Also, since I pugged them, I was able to go back to each shard after the dungeon run and grab them without getting yelled at by anyone for venturing off on my own. The only minor trouble I had was because the group didn't clear all the trash in NW but I was able to sneak to it and shadowmeld as a night elf in order to drop the little bit of aggro I got so that I could yoink the shard and then leave the dungeon.
After obtaining all of the shards, travel to /way 59.2 31.4 (Spires of Ascension) and speak to
Forgelight Hephaesius
. Tell him you have the shards and he will craft the
Crystal Mallet of Heralds
for you.
Head to /way 36.04 26.54. Use the mallet to ring the Vesper of the Silver Wind and you're done!

Do this as venthyr! It is soooooo much easier, took me just a couple of hours using the waypoints from the other comments, and I went with Hunter just cos that’s my only venthyr so you can just run through and feign death, but I think rogue/Druid would be better sneaking through, the north West Point can get really tough with all the adds

I am on my 22nd Shard as rogue, and I'd say it's much easier doing it as a rogue, sneaking, and grappling hook helps.
Update #2: Manage to find where 26 is, players did not clarify that it was UNDERGROUND building so you will not find the shard outside in wooden building for #26, but you need to go inside the underground building to find it.
I got all 50 shards and got my mallet. :) Definitely recommended to do this on your rogue, it's the best way to go.

Using the Tomtom coordinates posted in the comments and having flying now that 9.1 has hit, This takes a little under 30 minutes to hit every location. All are super easy to find from the air.

Can 100% confirm this was MUCH easier with flying involved as of 9.1 patch. Even as a DH I would have had some trouble getting to some of the spots. I think the worst part of this was just waiting for the dungeon queues to pop. The actual flying around / collecting crystals took me maybe 30-45 mins total. Well worth it for a gorgeous mount, I love the Larion models. So glad you can do this in any covenant too. :D

Something I have encountered while completing this achievement and collecting the shards:
On a few shards, instead of the option to interact with the shard (when the mouse usually turns to a hand to click and cast to pick up the shard) for whatever reason the shards appear with a cogwheel instead and upon clicking nothing happens. I am positive there is some sort of add on I have causing this interaction, but on some of them reloading fixed the issue and produced the correct mouse interaction, on others I did have to relog to resolve the issue. I don't know if others are seeing the same thing, but just in case, I hope this helps!

there was one i was missing and it didnt spawn and i used handynotes and it said the shard i was missing was somewhere else which was a place i checked but there was the shard i needed

After getting all the shards with a guild member, I ran into an issue today. Seams to be some sort of issue where if you are in a party, when you go to get the chest, only the first person gets the mount. Make sure you are not in a party when you go to ring the bell. If your reading this after the fact, the achievement is account bound. You can log into another toon and go get a new Mallet to hit the gong.

Flying has made this grind so much more tolerable and incredibly quicker. Normal dungeons can now be done solo (although I chose to take a tank friend, just in case) so there is now no need to wait for queues to pop either, so this can be done in a matter of an hour or so. Now is definitely the time to get this one completed.

Took about 40 min for the 45 in Bastion on my 70 Druid—only had to leave Travel form for the one in the Hall of Beasts (used Cat Form for Prowl to avoid the mobs there).
You only have to kill the first boss in Wake, which I found easy in quest greens. In Spires, you have much more killing to do to unlock the flight paths, but I had no problems with that either, as a Bear spec, it was just more time consuming.
I have the MapCoords addon which shows the pointer's coordinate location on the map to give me an idea where to go—it was all I needed.
