Blizz seems to be changing up the celebration package this year.
This is Consumable, but lasts until the end of the event, instead of being a non-consumable item that gives a 1hr buff like in past years.
The buff changing this year to last through the entire event is both good and bad. If it works as expected, the good news is you won't need to remember to refresh the buff every hour or upon death.
The bad news is--in prior years, you could loot the gift package from your mailbox and not open it on alts, effectively saving the XP buff item for use anytime in the future (good for one login session as it would disappear upon logout). I would save mine for a day when I could plan on leveling a single character for hours at a time, usually combined with
or similar. Blizzard seems to have figured out this loophole and the old tokens are no longer usable, so I suspect this change is part QoL improvement and part effort to stop unintended uses of the XP/Rep buff after the event ends.
Opened the package from my mail box but didn't use the celebration package right away. After logging out and back in the celebration package was no longer in my inventory, neither was Lil Nefarion or my celebration firework. Might want to save opening anything until after maintenance and restart.
Does it stack with the WHEE! buff from the Darkmoon Faire?

I opened up my Anniversary Gift and saw this inside it. When I opened it again later, it wasn't there. Hooray for bugs! /s
Logged on today with the buff missing :( Seem's to be a known issue as it's listed as such when you try to submit a ticket.
Unfortunately there seems to be some bugs with the buff that this item gives.
At some point in the last day or so it has dropped off my Monk. Since it is given out as a one time consumable item, there is no way to get the buff back.
I submitted a ticket, so hopefully I am able to get it back.
Well it took Blizzard a month or so to finally get a fix to get
