You need to win the Chowdown Event 5 times to be able to buy it at Britta Steinheart.
Would be awesome if the event would not reset randomly every other attempt slapping you with a 5 min debuff. I guess this wasn't properly tested, after all is not Classic. Yes, yes, different teams. And different time invested.
Worst toy ever to get. Thanks to few reasons
1) It needs all 4 seats seated.
2) You can rig other peoples game atm by running/standing in the gaming area in certain spots.
3) Someone get better RNG rolls by only getting 2 sausages like whole f*** competition in a row instead others rolling 3-5 = Longer eating time more cd etc..
4) You compete against others. There should be some silver token like 10 or some to get one 1 golden. So people with absolutely bad luck can atleast get it at some point.
5) If you dont wanna compete. Make it buyable on vendor for some REAL brewfest tokens.
When you place down the toy, it makes everyone inside a 10 yard radius drunk.
Moving away removes the effect. the constant chat spam of people getting drunk/sober up makes the game really laggy, so expect it to get hit by the fun police bat in a day or two.
Update: 12 hours later and it has been hotfixed. Drunk effect is still there and it still prints messages everytime someone moves in and out of range, but the constant spam has been removed.
Chowdown event is bugged. Don't bother.
How do you start the event? It would be nice if it allowed you to queue up because it just looked like a nightmare with people running all over each other trying to duke it out and no clear indication if it's a daily(can only complete 1x) or not. Also got bugged out on the racing rams so no loot from it either :/ I have most of the tokens needed for the hearthstone, so there's that at least.
I just did this on my Kul-Tiran Hunter and did okay; I even won the first time.
Tips to make it easier
Get in a group with 2 people who can rez.
Dying gets rid of the debuff so just fly up then die by falling then rez each other
spam click 3 - it will give you a free plate at the start
There is still a fair bit of RNG in this so be patient but if you are working together you will all get it anyway
Hopefully your group will stick with you until you all get the trophy
This event is probably the worst one Blizzard has ever introduced. Who thought that the amount of sausages on the plate should be RNG based should get fired immediately. It's truly lovely how you see some people get 2 sausages while others get 4-5. Not to mention that some chairs can start earlier or they already have multiple plates counted in before the set even starts.
People still didn't recognize, if you see someone else having 8-9 points and going to win, you can just press
and you won't get debuff?
If you lucky enough, you can start with 2 points just by pressing "3" non-stop until you can eat sausages already. Start pressing 3 the moment you sit on the chair. Wait until someone sit on the chair during failure attempt, and then just start clicking the chair. You will get the sit after they get the debuff. Immediately start pressing "3" until you can start eat sausages. And then good luck with your 1-2 extra points. You still can loose tho, just maintain wisely your choke bar and smash 3 every time as soon as it's available.
: the button "2" has charges, so as soon as you can start eating press 1 - 1 - 2 - 1 -... and keep going. Because after 6 points you gonna really wait for those charges to reset. 65/100 on the choke meter is your maximum safe point when you still can eat.
P.S. currently every 2nd event is giving you a debuff for 5 min, just avoid clicking the chair the turn right after someone won
(that's because the choke bar doesn't have enough time to reset after previous event, so you often see previous player progress on your screen)
Bugged guide to bugged event.
Finally an event for us XXXL'ers!
Tip for right now before it gets hotfixed, if you sit down at an EMPTY plate, (one or two are usually empty maybe due to previous players finishing) just hit 3 right off the bat and you'll be 1 point ahead of everyone else.
Good luck getting a seat if you're on a regular realm!
And good luck finding other people if you're on an RP realm lol.
Can be used while in combat, in a pve instance while moving, last 5min and gives the user a buff they can right click off to despawn the trophy. Not sure yet if it can be used inside of BGs or arenas how ever. Also not sure if the drunk affect given off by it can affect the opposite faction or not. If it can it might be useful in PVP in rare situations. If not it's intended use is to troll with chat spam and causing everyone near by to swerve if they are a keyboard turner or using auto run.
Blizzard: "Okay.. what if... now hear me out... what if we add... ?"
Removed(##RESPBREAK##)258##DELIM##Sas148##DELIM##I appreciate your desire to help, but doing anything that would clearly bypass the intentions of Blizzard in respect to this is definitely "exploit" territory, regardless of the severity. We don't knowingly permit such things to be shared here.
to get a better chance at pressing the chair
-Instead of the default additional bar in the middle of the screen, look at the one under your nameplate (might require custom ui addon) this will always show you numerical values even if not moused-over
-Eating can give you
30 units on the bar, so only eat when you are at 69/100 tops. If you are above, wait, or you might choke.
-Right after taking another plate you can't eat, use that second to drink if possible
-There is a major random element to it, perhaps to prevent people who are good at it to keep winning, sometimes you just can't win
-Even if others are ahead, you can still win thanks to them making a mistake and you getting lucky plates
-Conversely, even if you are ahead, make sure not to choke and hope for the best
-Focus on your special energy bar and your food, not on the scores of others
If you're someone who can make 3 other people do this with you, you can all make boosted/trial characters on some dead realm and take turns winning. I haven't tested this myself but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
Found a great way to help people get free wins.
What you do is you enter the competition, and once it starts, you immediately leave. That simple!
This gives everyone else +25% chance of winning (multiplied by everyone doing this and added to the base 25%) as well as leaving you without the debuff, allowing you to continuously help people. (the winner will still get the debuff though, which can be reset by dying).
So some other players and I helped some people out by giving them free wins like this. (also rezzed them to make it go even faster)
Does not appear to make the enemy faction drunk so attempting to use in PVP is strictly a bad idea.
Actually the WORST mini-game/event they ever created for a holiday event.
The RNG factor on the amount of sausages on your plate is actually straight up ridiculous.
And yet, why am I not even surprised they implemented this the way they did.
PS: The toy is incredibly dumb as well with the way it spams your chat (even after the "hotfixes")
Echoing what others have said, the fact that this is
RNG based is
, especially since no one but the winner gets anything. So those like myself with extremely bad luck are going to spend an unreasonable amount of time for the mere five wins for the single toy. The several minute debuff you get after you participate, regardless of whether you win or not, only adds to all the needless wasting of yet more time. Additionally, having to wait for actual people to fill the seats is also another factor that (more often than not) adds an incredible amount of wait time as well.
This doesn't even include the onslaught of bugs it has. For example, how some get only two sausages each plate the entire round instead of the 3-5 most get in most rounds, forcing us to take way longer, or how it sometimes registers too many clicks (or none at all) at random, which can severely mess up your lead, or how I've several times seen people start with one or two points before the round has even started! Just to name a few.
I see a few comments and have also witnessed in game most using the "spam the 1 key to eat everything at once to basically skip a whole plate with only one cooldown (aka choking)" tactic, which is clearly not how the game is meant to be played and a cheap way to win if it works (not that it's a guaranteed win anyway, but still). However, considering it's so broken and RNG based that people have to even rely on this type of thing says a lot in itself.
For those of you outside trying to get this toy ASAP, here's what I did:
#1 Get 3 friends to help you.
#2 Try to find the best time to do this when there's no people around (I also recommend turning off war mode. It helped with the crowd).
#3 Let your friends know who's gonna farm the toy first and win the first round.
#4 If you click fast enough, you can "cheat" and eat twice in a row, this helps a lot when you have 4 sausages on your plate.
#5 To remove the annoying debuff, just kill yourself and your friends as well (we flew in our mounts and died of falling.)
#6 Repeat as many times as needed until everyone gets the toy.
I see a lot of info on how or how not to get this, but not much on what the
Brewfest Chowdown Trophy
I don't get how badly designed this was and hopefully they patch it. There are people that start off with extra points, the amount on the plates seem to be just totally random.
If you have a mouse with keybindable buttons you can bind the Eat button to Action Bar 1.
Just spin your mouse wheel up or down (your choice) and you will eat the entire plate of sausages regardless of how many the game actually gives you on that plate. You will choke but it doesn't matter because everyone else is still on their plates and drinking while you're calling for a new one.
All you need to do is spam your mouse spin to eat and 3 to get a new plate.
Afterwards jut fly up and fall to your death to avoid the 3 minute timer.
The reason why this works is because there seems to be a delay in the amount of times the eat sausage button is pressed and the game registering it being eaten, the mouse wheel spin lets you eat 5 - 86,449,972 at once (depending on your brand of mouse) before the game realizes whats going on.
not getting this thing, way too many hoops for me to jump through
- people can start off with extra points
- plate sizes are purely RNG
- u get a debuff even if u lose, i guess u can remove it by dying, but if ur farming these with a low lvl toon then that rly isnt a viable option.
- no consolation prize, u enter to win. if u lose then tough luck, enjoy ur debuff & having ur time wasted
- getting 1 win isnt enough, u need 5. just getting 1 was stressful enough
the mini-game was an interesting idea tho, new & refreshing.
atm i dont rly see myself taking part in it unless if i can rig the competition with my guild
I don't claim to be an expert, but I did get this done. Obviously there is a lot of RNG happening with the amount of Sausage going on plates, nothing you can really do about that. It does seem like the free extra plate point thing is fixed, or I have seen it a great deal less (when people started they had an extra point). This is my personal strategy, I think you are more likely to win if you take on calculated risks on choking. usually around 73-75 if you eat you will likely not over cap, and it's often worth it. Choking also isn't the end of the world either. In fact there are times where It's correct to choke. If you eat around 73 to 75 and are out of drinks you will likely have 95+ ish energy, just eat again since you don't have any drinks and you would just be wasting time waiting anyways, so eating and taking the choke time is just better. Keep an eye on how much is on your plate and try to plan ahead with eating, drinks, signalling a new plate. There is a sort of rythem you get the hang of when you practice this more. I usually start by eating the whole plate however many that might be, drinking and signalling new plate. I usually find drinking better when you are at a very high energy. There are also little things like your energy tick going down, but at certain moments you are better letting this go off a tick before drinking but not always imo (not super important but figured I'd mention it). If your way ahead, don't slow down too much but be a bit careful. If you are super close to someone, take risks it will often be worth. If you are way behind, just exit your chair and you won't have to wait on the 3 minute debuff. I'm not sure what the deal is, but sometimes it seems like if you mash 1 fast enough you can eat an extra sausage while you are higher energy and choking (the choking has a weird kind of delay with it). I'm sure I am over thinking this and certain things I'm not 100 percent sure just seems pretty likely, but I figured maybe some of this might come in handy for someone out there so hopefully it helps and good luck.
watch it get nerfed so it only affects party memebers
As expected and usual for Wow, these hard earned
disappear from your bags once the event is over for the year and can not be saved for use next year.
One of the worst mini-games in the game.
I just won this 5 times in a row. Here is how I did it.
At start spam eat, eat, drink.
Depending on how many sausages you have just finish your plate.
From this point on, try to eat your 2nd to last sausage at 70 and your last at 90+. Choke, Re-plate. While choking your drink CD goes down, so after re-plating you should be able to drink and spam eat again. You will end up being able to rinse & repeat the eating of your last 2 sausages at 70 & 90+ until you win.
I won 4 rounds while being ahead 1-2 points. My 5th win I was behind 1 point for most the round and at the end I boosted ahead.
Rng aside, this toy isn't too hard to get if you just quit when you know you're going to lose. You can easily win five contests if you just know when to choke properly, giggity.
You need to
win five times
s in order to actually get the toy.
Won my first thought it would be easy. 6 tries later and all lost due to RNG. You can try time each bite but really how can you compete to 5 sausage plates to someone with 2 each round... Flags don't seem to be an indicator on winning patterns either
The eating contest sucks butt. Lost several times cause I get a 6+ sausage plate at 8 or 9 and get passed by someone who got x4 2 sausage plates in a row
This toy sucks to get for someone who doesn't log on at normal times. i've been sitting by myself at the table waiting for 3 ppl to join for a while lol
i wish it would just have timer where it started no matter what so i can atleast try to get the toy
Bugged event, but here is how i easily completed.
Created 3 new WoW-accounts on your Bnet. Create on all extra accounts a lvl 1 character close to the brewfest event.
Use your main account to fly the 3 chars quickly over to the brewfest event.
Use all your characters in the chairs and let them AFK.
Completed the event with your main 5 times.
minigame I've experienced in the game so far...
click the leave vehicle button while in a round. It bugs out the game on the server and it doesn't start new rounds at all.
Heya! So lots of people here are posting about the optimal strategy here, and begrudgingly shaking their fist at the RNG of the number of sausages on each plate.
However, there is an easy way to get trophies for you and your 3 best friends in just a few minutes. So everybody can get their 5
s to be able to buy their
and be on their merry way.
So yes, the number of sausages on each plate is random. But there is something consistent about how the game ends. When the 10th plate is requested. The game is over and the winner is announced. If multiple players request their 10th plate at the same time. Everybody gets a Chowdown championship token. So in theory, you can get 20 tokens for your party of 4 players in just 5 rounds. We didn't have any luck getting a pull timer to work with the vehicle interface for the minigame. but typing out a timer in chat, or counting down on coms works just fine. After the round, you can do another more quickly by dropping yourself off a flying mount and rezzing to get rid of the full belly debuff.
Also, it should be noted that there is presently a bug at the time of writing, where if people click the exit vehicle button, it messes up the mini-game for the whole server. So don't click that. And if you happen to find it bugged, try phasing into another server, or turning off/on war mode.
Good luck getting your cool Brewfest Trophy! and I hope that my discovery here helped save you guys some time!
SUCH a STUPID item. Let's go down the list here Blizzard.
You ruin the Tabard of the Lightbringer because pansies complained it was "too bright".
You ruin the Iron Starlette battle pet because pansies said it was "too loud".
You ruin hunter hydra pets because pansies said "makes weird noises".
You ruin the Direbrew's Remote by adding a confirmation because pansies "this automatically summoned me this is BS"
You ruin countless other items by requiring people to be in a group to hear/see them because pansies "can't stand that".
But then you have an idiotic item that people put down in groups that is worse than all of the above put together? You do realize a lot of people are prone to motion sickness, right? GET RID OF THIS THING!
Is it just me or are you no longer allowed to disable the drunkeness by right-clicking away the buff? I swear you could in 8.3.7 but it seems like you stay drunk after now
doesn't work with this.
a good trolling toy for raids....
If you plan to obtain this toy in 2021, I have a big tip for you:
Get it as fast as you can.
The eating minigame is extremely frustrating, and you need to win it 5 times in order to get the toy.
Most people will be present at the start of the event, and once they get their tokens and toys, they will no longer stick around.
Moreover, the tokens will disappear once Brewfest ends.
It would be terrible to end up with 4 tokens, and no more people to actually compete with for the last one.
From my experience, the first 3-5 days of Brewfest are crucial for this, as there are a lot of players doing dailies and checking out new stuff.
Also, dont get discouraged! The minigame is difficult, but you I'll get more used to it as you play, correct timing is the key.
Good luck! You'll need it.
It seems they have fixed the Brewfest Chowdown, I tested on several servers and they all worked as of 29 Sep 2021. So you can now try to get the toy before the event ends.
Oh no. Fun police again- it looks like the AOE is removed, and now you actually have to USE the trophy to get a drunk effect.
