The dragonling will be a level equal to your engineering skill/5 (Gnomes will have level 63 dragonlings). Deals about 70 damage to a level 60 mob, 2.0 attack speed. Also occasionaly breathes fire, which deals 300 damage and makes fire spells on that mob do up to 60 extra damage. This ability stacks with itself, but I've never seen it breathe more then twice in one outing. Debuff lasts about 30 seconds. Very little health.

Fun litte item, adds about 60dps while its up and is a nice buff for fire mages. Rather expencive to produce for the effect though.

According to thottbot, this item shares a cooldown with the Mithril Mechanical Dragonling and regular-kind Mechanical Dragonling. Does anyone have verification - disproof of this?

(that's something that Wowhead could use, btw, a shared cooldown table... ah well.)

to clarify any confusion about using your mithril dragon as one of the recipes, yes you can make another one and use it as usual. assuming you have a regular mechanical dragon you'll will have a total of 3 dragons. and on another side note, your engineering skill in the BC still affects your dragons lvl, so if you have your skills up to 375 you'll have a lvl 75 dragon or 78 from gnomes racial ability.

Defintely doesn't share a cooldown with the Battle Chicken. Don't think cooldown is sharded with other dragon types.

Not that it makes a huge difference, but it'd definitely be funny to see in someone's combat log.

A gnome (Gnome of race, not specialization) engineer can get a level 78 Dragonling, which is indeed able to land crushing blows.

Doesn't hit too hard, but it works.

EDIT: In the Wrath of the Lich King, we'll see level 90 Dragonlings.

NOTE: req. lvl50 AND Engineering300, not just the engineering!
(made one for my lvl35 gnome firemage, only then noticed the req.lvl50 )

With the quick leveling of 2.3, you'll probably level out of this bonus pretty quick, but it's still usefull for about 10 levels.
The 60min cooldown is a pain, but you can just put it in your bag and pull it out at a tricky boss fight.
and let's not forget the novelty value of pulling this one out near your friends ;)

Still need to confirm: can you switch to another trinket after using this (before combat) without losing the dragon?

BLIZZARD NERFED THIS IN THE 2.4 PATCH!

You can no longer have a lvl 75 or 78 pet. It no longer seems to get over lvl 60 or so (at least on my lvl 59 warlock). Although they put the cd down a bit, its still a huge nerf to this trinket (The whole idea was to have a pet 5-8 lvls over ur own lvl wich you can use when you really need that dps boost). Now this extremely expensive trinket has come quite useless.

That'll leave you with two extra Gold Power Cores. Apart from the more common stuff, you'll need items crafted by alchemy (the rocket fuel, arcanite bars), blacksmithing (inlaid mithril tubes) and enchanting (enchanted thorium bars and leather). Really expensive to make, too bad it's now pretty useless.

It's back to level 75 now. The mithril version is still level 50.

If you are farming it, be sure to kill all the cobalt mobs not just the mageweavers or other mobs will respawn in their place.

for my Level 35 Pala-Twink (Engineering 300) and the Dragon ist Level 60.
Yes - Level 60, and he does solo two Level 35 Mobs.
Within the 60sec he now does around 3100dmg - which is a lot.
'cause Mobs @ Level 35 have around 1500HP.

I stated Level *Cap*, not level requirement. As in, the Arcanite Dragonling itself has a maximum level of 60.

Level 78 when summoned by my gnome with maxxed out Engineering. So it seems they do in fact scale. Doesn't deal a ton of damage, but the fire damage debuff it casts is nice. Was an increase of 78 fire spell damage which stacks. Can anyone confirm whether the debuff value is related to the dragonlings level?

When time is up, instead of dying, they disappear. You can't have more than 1 Dragonling out at the same time.
If you pop another dragonling (after the 30sec shared cd), the 1st dragonling will disappear.

On 3.2 ptr the summon is now only level 60 with maxed engineering (450, not a gnome).

I farmed this today.

-Drops only from a Cobalt Mageweaver: An elite dragon found in winterspring 深蓝龙人法师
-Extremely low drop rate.
-Took me around 4hours, during which the tailoring pattern dropped 7 times, and the alchemy pattern about 15 times.
-It also dropped the mature blue dragon Sinew before getting this schematic.

-Its lvl 60. 1494 hp
-It casts flame buffet. lasts 45 seconds, increases fire dmg taken by 60, stacks up to 180 usually during the pets lifespawn. Maximum stack is 300dmg.
Edit: have to use command /PetAttack to make it to attack anything high lvl.

Anyone know about this? The Cobalt Mageweavers it dropped from have been removed as of 4.0.3a...did they add it to another mob's drop table?

I was out in Arathi Highlands picking herbs when a level 35 gnome warrior challenged my level 80 death knight to a duel; because of the level difference any of my attacks would have taken all her health away which would have been pointless, so instead I clicked on my Aracanite Dragonling and let the dragonling and the gnome fight it out.
