Word of warning with patch 7.3.5. As they've condensed the reagents you may be tempted to turn your light illusions into rich illusion dusts.
There is currently a bug that seems to affect stacks of 200 so that once right clicked to turn 3 lights into one rich, the entire stack of light will be consumed and you will be left with 1 rich illusion dust.
Edit: Seems that it is not just stacks of 200, but rather any stack of the light illusion dust.
Finally, no need to keep too many different types of dust!
This was supposedly "converted" from old materials. I had a few thousand low level enchanting mats stored in a guild bank before the patch, after the patch I got 8 rich and 163 light illusion dust. The other thousands are just straight up gone.
Making Black Mageweave Headbands (Tailoring, 230) and disenchanting them gives you this dust now, instead of Dream Dust.
So, anyone have direct information on what mobs and where to farm "Rich illusion dust?"
is the most reliable way to get the max level vanilla enchantings materials. So I disenchanted 400 of these to get some updated numbers.
(costs 50 silver each at vendor before reputation discounts)
Translates into one
which translates into:
In Shadowlands, post level squish, I found crafting
to be the best source of rich illusion dust. The previous items used are too high level and disenchant into Burning Crusade level mats (i.e. arcane dust).
As of the Shadowlands Prepatch. If you are a character above level 25.
The greens which drop in the old world above level 25, no longer disenchants into classic materials.
They will start to give Outland or Northrend Dust and Essences.
The most reliant source of
is crafted gear 28 or below.
Any item (like
) which is item level 29 and above will give Outland materials.
cannot be used to get other expansion materials from disenchanting.
If you are in Classic and see under disenchant "item: 156930" , then you will get the correct Classic level disenchantment dust. not
You can just farm Shadowfang Keep dungeon and loot all green and blue items then disenchant them .. alot of Rich Illusion Dust, Greater Eternal Essence, Large Brilliant Shards.
ilvl 33 greens seem to yield the most Rich Illusion Dust from my experience
