Beat Algalon Pet Battle on 10/30/16 with two pets.
Found the only strat online from Perks N Peeves when she downed it on the PTR. Nice job and thanks!
I followed suit but was having a lot of trouble with pet 2 and 3 dying. So here's what I found out and how I adjusted it to get my win. Take note, it's RNG dependent so don't give up. That said, it took one time when I decided NOT to switch out pet 2 for pet 3.
1. Macabre Marionette - 121
2. Emerald Proto-Whelp - 112
3. Infested Bear Cub - 122 (never pulled him out and I suggest you don't either so I guess you could bring a leveling pet)
I followed her strat on Comet using Macabre Marionette: siphon life, dead man's party and Macabre maraca twice in that order. (if your pet dies before Comet, start the encounter over)
Bring out your Emerald Proto-Whelp against Cosmos: use emerald dream, ancient blessing (in that order) and use them on cooldown. Keeping him up with as much health as possible is the key to this encounter. Use Breath in-between healing spells until Cosmos dies.
When Constellatius comes in do not swap out pets, keep Emerald Proto-Whelp out, and just continue on with the healing. You can pass in-between healing spells as there's no need to damage him as he will simply heal himself up. The key is to keep your pet healed and ride out the 15 turns of Apocalypse because he will die and in turn, you will win.
Only strat that worked for me on the first try:
Zandalari Anklerender - S/S - 2,1,2
Direhorn Runt - H/H or H/S - 1,2,2
Infested Bear Cub - 1,2,2
Black Claw, Hunting Party, then Leap which should kill Comet. Black claw until your Anklerender dies.
Bring in your Infested Bear and cast hibernate. Cosmo will automatically swap to your Direhorn Runt.
Stampede, Trihorn Charge. Swap to Infested Bear Cub when Constellatius comes out.
Hibernate on cooldown. Pass all other rounds
As difficult as this battle first seems, just two pets are needed:
Flayer Youngling (S/S) 1/2/1
Emerald Proto Whelp (P/P) 1/1/2
The first battle requires the most strategy; open with Kick, then use Blitz, Blitz, Deflection. The aim from here is to keep Kick on cooldown at all times, and avoid being hit with flamethrower at all costs as this will cause the most damage.
For the bunny, just use blitz until you are forced to swop (you should be auto-swopped to your proto-whelp). From here, use Ancient Blessing, Emerald Dream & attack in between - making sure to keep your healing abilities on cooldown at all times.
When the Bunny drops, simply repeat this strategy for the final pet (or just pass your attacks) as he will eventually kill himself - you just need to outheal his relatively low damage.
For security, use a second Emerald Proto Whelp as the third pet just in case the Bunny gets lucky with crits & you need the backup.
You can defeat Algalon with
, which you can buy on the AH or borrow from a friend. A lot of people use tactics that involve catching a specific breed, but this isn't necessary!
1-1-1 (I used P/S build, but it shouldn't matter)
Comet: Marionnete will take out the dragon solo. Siphon Life, Dead Man's Party, Macabre Maraca x2. Both these pets should die at the same time. If he crits you, you'll die before getting off the second Maraca, so forfeit and restart.
Cosmos: Switch in your Imp. Rush, Immolation. At this point, the bunny will force your Crawdad into battle. Imp will heal passively every round while he's not active. Wish, Renewing Mists, Snap. Your wish should be on cooldown for 3 more rounds, and you should have over ~1100 health remaining. Switch to Imp, rinse and repeat until bunny is dead: Rush, Immolation, Wish, Renewing Mists, Snap, switch.
Constellatius: Both your pets should be healthy, and you just have to outlast 15 rounds until Apocalypse lands. If Imp is active, switch to Crawdad. Wish, Renewing Mists, and Claw or Pass until Apocalypse squishes your Crab and the Imp claims victory.
Congratulations on your new starbunny!
After completion of

More important, you will need to get this pet in order to destroy the Death Star...
Hey Guys, Elfuego back in the forums again! This time with some help for anyone who is having trouble with Algalon. At first glance, this guys crew is pretty tough! Theres really only one threat here though and that's his First pet dragon Comet.
Team: Bonkers S/S, Broom S/S, and Emerald Proto-Whelp.
Getting the strat down for the dragon was the funnest challange for me here, he hits your front pet AND your team hella hard. I started out with Tornado Punch. Alot of the time it was a safe way to do alot of early damage, as the few attempts I put in it rarely stunned him. After punch, it was Jab, to tempo off the 2 amped attacks he gets from his first ability. From here its Dodge. Because the monkey is S/S the dodge will count for the next 2 rounds. As Tornado punch comes off CD, its time to use it again. Heres the Switch. Swap pets into the Broom.
The broom has a unique ability called Sweep, it forces your opponents highest health pet in for battle, which will be Constelantus. This is actualy quite easy, its a waiting game. Once the Star pig swaps in, switch the broom to your ever trusty Emerald Proto-Whelp. You want Breath, Ancient Blessing, and Emerald Dream. Here its not even worth attacking as this pet heals off wish so much. Its just timing Dream and Blessing untill theres 1 round Left. I swapped the monkey back in to keep the Protowhelp at full health. Metero goes off, kills the monkey and star pig. If the dragons still around you can se the broom to finish it off. As it goes down, your left with a full health Proto whelp and a low broom. spam brooms abilities untill it goes down then just bring the whelp in and ride the Ancient blessing and Emerald Dream CD cycle and attack with Breath.. GO FORTH, STARTDUST AWAITS!
And Algalon... GETS OWNED!
"My God... it's full of carrots..."
I don't have an Emerald Proto-Whelp, and neither my Dream Whelpling nor my Emerald Whelpling were surviving Cosmos anyways. Decided to play around with a few things, and I think I may have a nearly fail-proof strategy for this now, as long as you have the H/H breed of Unborn Val'kyr. (I didn’t test it with a B/B, so I make no assumptions about that – try at your own discretion. It may still work.) Cosmos gave Magical Crawdad 2 nasty crits in a row right out of the gate, and it still managed to survive. I spent a LOT of time failing this battle either because of Cosmos's crit RNG on some of the previous pet strategies or because I didn't have the right pets for other strategies. It’s long, but hopefully this will save someone else the RNG headache as well.
**Until you get to Constellatius, pay special attention to the move order. You’re going to put Renewing Mists back up before it falls off once, so that you have enough turns of it remaining to heal Unborn Val’kyr when the following swap occurs. The “early” Renewing Mist is not a mistake or an oversight, it’s part of the strategy.
***If you don’t have a Snowfeather Hatchling, you can probably use any other defense-break pet that can survive the three rounds until Comet is dead. Just make sure you’re using the defense-break on round 4 and 5. The Predatory Strike opener at the beginning of Cosmos is really just filler. If whatever pet you sub for Snowfeather Hatchling dies in turn 5, bring in Magical Crawdad, cast Renewing Mists in turn 6, and continue as normal when Unborn Val’kyr gets swapped in in turn 7. I did NOT test this, but it should work just fine, barring an extremely unlucky set of crits in rounds 6, 8, 9, and 10. If that happens, try again. Magical Crawdad should be able to handle 2 crits in those four turns and still make it, and it’s extremely unlikely Cosmos would get crits three+ times out of those four turns in subsequent attempts.
In the following Battle Slot Order:
1. Curse of Doom
2. Haunt - Unborn Val'kyr "dies", Snowfeather Hatchling comes in
4. Falcosaur Swarm
5. Falcosaur Swarm - Comet dies, Cosmos comes in
6. Predatory Strike
7. Doesn't matter, Phase Punch - Unborn Val'kyr comes in (Don’t worry if Snowfeather Hatchling dies to a crit here. You’re done using it and it was going to die shortly to AoE anyways.)
8. Swap for Magical Crawdad
10. Renewing Mists
12. Renewing Mists
13. Doesn't matter, Phase Punch - Unborn Val'kyr comes in
14. Curse of Doom
15. Haunt - Unborn Val'kyr "dies", Magical Crawdad comes in
17. Renewing Mists
19. Snap (Unborn Val’kyr is still “dead”, joke’s on you Phase Punch)
21. Renewing Mists
24. Renewing Mists
25. Doesn't matter, Phase Punch - Unborn Val'kyr comes in
26. Haunt - Unborn Val'kyr "dies", Magical Crawdad comes in
29. Renewing Mists - Cosmos dies, Constellatius comes in
30. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
31. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
32. Renewing Mists
33. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
35. Renewing Mists
36. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
37. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
38. Renewing Mists
39. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
41. Renewing Mists
42. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
43. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter
44. Renewing Mists
45. Snap/Pass, doesn't matter - Constellatius dies, Magical Crawdad dies, Unborn Val'kyr comes in, win.
Used a mix of strategies listed here - Marionette (121), the Emerald Proto-Whelp (112) and the Magical Crawdad (112).
1. Marionette, as already stated, is pretty good at taking out Comet. I had a lot of bad luck with Comet critting Marionette, though, so I could only manage 1 Macabre Maraca after Siphon Life and Dead Man's Party sometimes. But your second pet may be able to finish off Comet, anyway, and keep itself healed against Cosmos. This happened for me when I finally won.
2. Emerald Proto-Whelp - your priority is to keep it healed (Emerald Dream, Blessing) and use Breath x2 in-between healing until Cosmos dies.
3. This is important. If you have the wrong breed of Emerald Proto-Whelp (like I did), Constellatus will beat it down. Therefore, if this proves to be the case, immediately switch to the Magical Crawdad, which can easily withstand its attacks and stay alive until Apocalypse. That will allow your Emerald Proto-Whelp to earn the victory.
Have fun with your new Stardust :)
this is June 2nd, 2018; I just used Rhinoloupe's strategy; it worked perfectly :) make sure you only use magical crawdad, when the last pet is up, you both use your wish when it is up, then renewing mists, then snap, keep doing that until the meteor falls, my imp had near full health when this happened and imp won, I am now the proud owner of Stardust! :)
Shadowlands Patch 9.0.5
This strat worked for me on the first go even though I got crit a few times-
1. Zandalari Anklerender (2,2,2)
2. Emerald Proto-Whelp (1,1,2)
3. Son of Animus (1,2,1)
I used a P,P Zandalari Anklerender and a P,B Emerald Proto-Whelp.
Start with Anklerender
Primal Cry→Black Claw→Hunting Party
When Anklerender dies swap in Whelp
Breath (Comet dies)→Emerald Dream→Breath→Ancient Blessing→Breath
Son of Animus will get swapped in
Extra Plating→Touch of the Animus→Metal Fist→Metal Fist
Whelp will get swapped in
Use Emerald Breath and Ancient Blessing and just survive.
Weave in a few breaths when you can and wait till swap.
The goal here is to keep your Whelp at as much of a high HP as you can
Son of Animus will get swapped in
Extra Plating→Touch of the Animus→Metal Fist→Metal Fist
Whelp will get swapped in
Breath till Cosmos dies
Just keep your HP topped with Ancient Blessing and Emerald Dream till the meteor hits
Son of Animus probably will still be up and this ordeal will be done.
GL and hope this gets you your rabbit!
