This pet is one of a number of profession pets coming in Legion. Below is a list, sorted by profession.
It's like a treasure goblin... little worrying though, regardless, I want twelve of them dotted around my house.
Can this be caged and sold on the AH? (I see its BoP, but many BoP pets can then be caged and sold)
Edit: confirmed today that you can learn it, cage it, and sell/trade it. Woot!
Edited to add on Dec. 7, 2016: At the time this post was written, this particular quest is like the other rare Legion archaeology quests and is available only for two weeks at a time. This pet (from its questline) was available after the reset on Nov. 22, 2016 and is no longer available two weeks later, after the reset on Dec. 6, 2016.
What I wrote last Nov. 23, 2016:
Go pick up the quest
Out of the Frying Pan
from the archaeology NPC in Dalaran. You will be sent to Brann in Aszuna, and he will give you the quest
And Into the Fel Fire
. It took me an hour and a half to complete that quest. After that, I fought a Wyrmy Tunkins NPC and then got his pet counterpart.
Right now it looks like this quest will be available for the next two weeks (in NA--not sure if other areas have the same Legion rare archaeology schedule), after which I don't know when it will cycle back again. So if you want this pet, make sure you get it while this questline is available!
My Ally toon got this, and my Horde toon is currently on this questline, so it looks like this pet is available to both factions.
I was confused as to why Wyrmy Tunkins wasn't showing up under my Archaeology Rares in the Archaeology drop down menu. The pet is actually listed as Infernal Device under the Archaeology Rares. Which makes sense since the infernal device in Diablo is about summoning demons.
This is part of the
All quests starts at

offers changes every other week(Every quest is up for 2 weeks), in the same order as they are listed above.
These quests require Legion Expansion and Character-level 45+ and are available to both Horde and Alliance.
The quest is up now :)
